Farewell Happy Fields!
Farewell Happy Fields!
☯
What: Aftermath of Anoli Attack: Hospital
Where: Leo Ward - Caduceus Hospital Headquarters
Summary: It is the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies. The injured have been taken to Caduceus Hospital Headquarters, and it is time for reflection, visting, or old-fashioned escapes from the hospital rooms.
Warnings: Mild squick if people want to describe their wounds in explicit detail.
Caduceus Hospital Headquarters. It has a distinguished history within Hinoto-Ri, boasting of a staff of well-trained Healers, as well as possessing the most cutting edge medical technology possible. There was no limb they couldn't reattach, no organ they couldn't replace... - they even claimed to be able to bring someone back from the dead (with the small disclaimer that it could only occur under certain conditions and with an obscene amount of luck).
So needless to say, the hospital was more than well-equipped to deal with the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies.
---
Nearly every hospital bed had been filled by an injured patient that night. The A&E room had been in constant chaos, with civilians crying and shouting, searching for loved ones, or demanding to see doctors or healers to help so-and-so...
There had also been plenty of reporters milling about, shouting and crying over the status of the Mayor's Secretary, and whether the Red Lion had really died at the scene, or if he was still alive and well within the safety of the hospital's ICU.
By the time morning broke, there was a false sense of tranquillity within the hospital. The healers had been pushed to their limits with the sheer number of patients being wheeled in and out of surgery, but otherwise, the situation had finally gotten under control. Now, both civilians and visitors were merely waiting for word of the conditions of their injured friends and family...
[Welcome to the winding down of the event! You are now at the hospital, where you may be visiting the injured, or be one of the injured yourself! Those with RED injuries will be in the ICU, and those with YELLOW injures will be in normal wards, for obvious reasons. Those with GREEN injuries wouldn't have had to go to the hospital at all, so they are free to come and go as they wish!
You may all start your threads and mingle!]

"Sure. The audience loves to see blind heroism. Show 'em some moxie and you've made yourself some fans." Tomokazu takes a few steps further into the room and rummages around inside his jacket pocket for a few moments. "As a whole, you... Visitors represented yourselves well that night."
He lays down a neatly tied package of letters on Ferrus's nightstand.
"They call you... ガスマスクくん. Gasmask-kun."

...Still, though, Ferrus seems surprised by the small stack of letters. He'd really not expected that sort of response - a stack was much more then he expected. (Honestly, he'd probably have the same response to one, though.)
He seems happy for the news about visitors being represented well, as well as the implication that he helped there. That was good. No discrimination for the others. He couldn't resist a small smile at the name, though-
"I see."

His awkwardness could likely be attributed to some combination of guilt, stubbornness, and an inability to process the overwhelming emotional turmoil that had beset the entire city that night. He had continued to report daily after he had been given a clean bill of health, though it had been said that his usual exuberant style had been slightly dampened. Not that anyone quite blamed him.
With time, he would return to introducing himself as the 'always "all-set", Hinoto-Ri's #1 Newsman, Tomokazu Tokudome' with a bright smile who posed for the camera a little longer than was strictly necessary. But at the moment, he hadn't quite mustered whatever it was that provided him with his normal obnoxious pep. If asked, he wouldn't even be able to express anything more than a claim of exhaustion.
"There are probably a few letters from some total nutjobs in there so... don't be too upset by what you see. It comes with the territory."
The reporter gives a small shrug before turning back towards the door.
"...Good luck."

...When the other turns away, he won't stop him, but -
"...Good luck to you, as well. Stay safe." He was tempted to say something about the Emperor or Omnissiah... but he quietly dodged those two dogmas. For the time being.
no subject
"...................Thank you."
And then his brisk stride is heard echoing down the hallway
and he is never played again.
