What: Aftermath of Anoli Attack: Hospital
Where: Leo Ward - Caduceus Hospital Headquarters
Summary: It is the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies. The injured have been taken to Caduceus Hospital Headquarters, and it is time for reflection, visting, or old-fashioned escapes from the hospital rooms.
Warnings: Mild squick if people want to describe their wounds in explicit detail.

Caduceus Hospital Headquarters. It has a distinguished history within Hinoto-Ri, boasting of a staff of well-trained Healers, as well as possessing the most cutting edge medical technology possible. There was no limb they couldn't reattach, no organ they couldn't replace... - they even claimed to be able to bring someone back from the dead (with the small disclaimer that it could only occur under certain conditions and with an obscene amount of luck).

So needless to say, the hospital was more than well-equipped to deal with the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies.

Nearly every hospital bed had been filled by an injured patient that night. The A&E room had been in constant chaos, with civilians crying and shouting, searching for loved ones, or demanding to see doctors or healers to help so-and-so...

There had also been plenty of reporters milling about, shouting and crying over the status of the Mayor's Secretary, and whether the Red Lion had really died at the scene, or if he was still alive and well within the safety of the hospital's ICU.

By the time morning broke, there was a false sense of tranquillity within the hospital. The healers had been pushed to their limits with the sheer number of patients being wheeled in and out of surgery, but otherwise, the situation had finally gotten under control. Now, both civilians and visitors were merely waiting for word of the conditions of their injured friends and family...

[Welcome to the winding down of the event! You are now at the hospital, where you may be visiting the injured, or be one of the injured yourself! Those with RED injuries will be in the ICU, and those with YELLOW injures will be in normal wards, for obvious reasons. Those with GREEN injuries wouldn't have had to go to the hospital at all, so they are free to come and go as they wish!

"I think we should try to finish our original quest first: 'Complete a Visit to the Hospital Without Getting Thrown Out For Causing a Disturbance'."

Still, Atsuro smiles broadly at his best friend.

"...Thanks, Kazuya. And don't worry about me, really."

Kazuya lowered his arms, letting out a small huffing noise. "You can't ask me that. Of course m'gonna worry about you, squishy human that you are."

He rubbed the back of his neck, suddenly looking embarrassed. "But, uh, don't mention it. Yeah. Right, um, so, food. I'll - go get that."

"Squishy...? Like you're any better."

Atsuro reaches out and pokes Kazuya in the arm.

"And you're looking kind of pale there, you know? You should get more sunlight and exercise."

He'll cut off the banter there and send his friend off with a wave.

"See ya soon. Take your time; I'm not going anywhere."

Kazuya was huffing and puffing from the perceived slights against his body (he was lean and pale as fallen snow!), and turned away with his nose stuck in the air.

"Pft, fine. Don't go fist-fighting any more pyromaniacs while I'm gone!"

He did look over his shoulder to give Atsuro a small grin though, and with that the Demon King flounced from the ward, off on his GREAT ADVENTURE to find a KFC in Hinoto-Ri.

If Kazuya comes back, Atsuro will be lying melodramatically over the side of his bed with his tongue lolling out and his hat over his face.

Whereupon Kazuya had no choice but to revive his poor, deceased friend with a will aimed Ziodyne. RIP Atsuro.

All this KFC for him.

"Gah!"

Atsuro will jolt upright from the... well. Jolt.

"You know, most people don't electrocute their burned friends and give them more burns."

Grumble mumble.

"Oh c'mon, I didn't even shock you that hard."

Kazuya reclaimed his place on the seat beside his friend's bed, placing the KFC bucket (he actually found one) between his legs.

"So I just got a bucket of fried chicken."

"Have I ever told you how much I appreciate you?"

A wide grin comes across the boy's face as he stares at the bucket with slavering lips.

"Hmm...not nearly enough," Kazuya said contemplatively, his lips curving into a wolfish smile. "What, exactly, do you appreciate about me...?"

That's right, Atsuro. You need to stroke his ego before you get the chicken.

"Obviously, your unconditional generosity and compassion for your friends!"

Hand over that bucket, Kazuya.

"Hmm..."

The bucket was lifted up a bit, but not was not handed over yet.

"There should be more than compassion," he said teasingly, holding the bucket just out of reach. Yeah he was just fucking with Atsuro at this point.

"And also your cognizance of when your friends are about to bite into you in lieu of chicken wings."

Kazuya paused. "Cogni- are you making up words now?"

"........"

Atsuro reaches forward and grabs Kazuya's arm to take a fake bite.

"Wah! Hey! Hey! Okay! Take the damned chicken!" Kazuya yelped, yanking his arm away while simultaneously shoving the bucket forwards.

"I'm so lucky to have you as my best friend, Kazuya."

Atsuro cheerfully takes the topmost piece of chicken and begins to chow down.

"Yeah. I'm lucky too."

"Hey, don't eat all of it!"

Atsuro's smile is warm, although whether that's genuine or further teasing is up for interpretation.

"It's just one piece! Don't worry, Sir Demon King, I'll leave enough for you and your appetite.

...I'll pay you later, too, don't worry."

Kazuya sniffed, sticking his nose up into the air as he crossed his arms, perfectly imitating a snooty Demon King. "You better. Or I'll have to succumb to my new demonic nature and, I dunno, steal your soul as compensation."

"Chik'n wins tase be'ah 'an souls."

Says Atsuro through a mouthful of chicken wing.

"That's what we should've done. Grabbed some junk food and fed it to Belberith."

Kazuya couldn't help it - he let out a choked snort of laughter, grinning a bit at the thought. "Yeah, all our problems could have been solved if we just popped round to KFC before fighting Belberith! Hahah... I wish."

((Sorry for being so late! I got ...distracted, aha.))

He swallows.

"Do you think he'd grow a chicken head? ...Or maybe breaded crispy skin?"

"Wha..." Kazuya blinked and stared. "What like, he'd eat so much fried chicken he would become fried chicken?"
