What: Aftermath of Anoli Attack: Hospital
Where: Leo Ward - Caduceus Hospital Headquarters
Summary: It is the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies. The injured have been taken to Caduceus Hospital Headquarters, and it is time for reflection, visting, or old-fashioned escapes from the hospital rooms.
Warnings: Mild squick if people want to describe their wounds in explicit detail.

Caduceus Hospital Headquarters. It has a distinguished history within Hinoto-Ri, boasting of a staff of well-trained Healers, as well as possessing the most cutting edge medical technology possible. There was no limb they couldn't reattach, no organ they couldn't replace... - they even claimed to be able to bring someone back from the dead (with the small disclaimer that it could only occur under certain conditions and with an obscene amount of luck).

So needless to say, the hospital was more than well-equipped to deal with the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies.

Nearly every hospital bed had been filled by an injured patient that night. The A&E room had been in constant chaos, with civilians crying and shouting, searching for loved ones, or demanding to see doctors or healers to help so-and-so...

There had also been plenty of reporters milling about, shouting and crying over the status of the Mayor's Secretary, and whether the Red Lion had really died at the scene, or if he was still alive and well within the safety of the hospital's ICU.

By the time morning broke, there was a false sense of tranquillity within the hospital. The healers had been pushed to their limits with the sheer number of patients being wheeled in and out of surgery, but otherwise, the situation had finally gotten under control. Now, both civilians and visitors were merely waiting for word of the conditions of their injured friends and family...

[Welcome to the winding down of the event! You are now at the hospital, where you may be visiting the injured, or be one of the injured yourself! Those with RED injuries will be in the ICU, and those with YELLOW injures will be in normal wards, for obvious reasons. Those with GREEN injuries wouldn't have had to go to the hospital at all, so they are free to come and go as they wish!

Nanako hates hospitals.

When she'd finally been fully released from the Inaba hospital last spring, she'd hoped she wouldn't have to go back again for a long time. The doctors and nurses are kind people, but everyone else is hurt and suffering and she doesn't like seeing the sad faces. When she'd been really sick, in the fall, even Big Bro and his friends had looked that way.

But now she's on the other side. Her big bro is the one in the hospital bed, not moving, and Nanako doesn't know what to do. Her Dad isn't here to talk to, and most of Yu's friends are hurt just like he is. All of them are strong and brave and the bad guys had still beaten them this badly.

If this is really what being a Persona-user means... Nanako isn't sure she wants to be one anymore.

It's been awhile since she had come back in but this time she was checking to see if anyone else has come into the ICU, not particularly their leader because the last time...well, words were exchanged and let's leave it at that. And yes, still hiding from nurses. But then, she spotted the small girl in his room.

No Nanako. You shouldn't be here.

That's what she wanted to say to her but that's her family lying there. She has the right to no matter how bad it looks. Yukiko barely enters the doorway for the second time, speaking quietly to the girl.

"Nanako-chan..."

She has to be here. Her big bro was for her the entire time she'd been in the hospital, and it had always made her happy. Now it's her turn to be there for him, even if watching him like this is scary.

But she smiles at Yukiko as she enters the room. "He's still asleep right now..."

"...I know."

It's hard not to smile when the young girl does; somehow she just has the power to do so and everything would feel ok.

"I bet he's glad you're alright."

"I saw it on TV..." She admits this, quietly. It had been scary when the breaking news bulletin appeared, something that normally would make her change the channel, but she knew that people she cared about were there. "I tried to call Big Bro then, with Loveline, but he didn't answer. But even if he did... Loveline can't help him."

She looks down at the bedspread, away from Yu's face.

It's taking everything she had mentally to say that there's nothing they can do right now. Only Yu can wake up and they can't force him no matter how much they want to. It's like when Nanako was there herself back in December and how they thought she died.

But Yukiko had to try and comfort the girl in some way, and knelt down beside her, giving her a hug.

"We can help him...we can be here supporting him."

"Yeah..." When Yukiko says it out loud, things sound a lot better. Nanako hugs back tightly. "If... we're too sad right now, he'll be sad when he wakes up, too."

"Right."

She remembered what Izanami told her about how someone can hear them while in a coma state. And she wanted to believe that when she touched his hand, he was responding because someone he knew was there with him.

"We'll think happy things so your brother can wake up happy. Even though he's asleep, he can still hear us."

Teddie is there by Nanako's side and plans to stick to her like a starfish. When he sees her, he hurries over to her and gives her a great big hug, knowing that she's probably more hurt then anyone else right now. That's her big bro after all. He wants to say it'll be okay, but he knows that right at the moment, it's not. Just hugging her, Teddie smiles and definitely tries to keep himself chipper.

"Teddie's going to stay with you, Nana-chan. I promise!"

A friendly bear is definitely what Nanako needs right now. She immediately hugs Teddie back, trying not to let him see that she'd been crying. Her dad always tells her to be brave and not cry when sad things happen.

"Thank you, Teddie... I'm glad you're okay." The last part betrays the worry she's been feeling. She's not even sure yet how many of her friends are here as visitors, and how many as patients...

Teddie hugs Nanako back gently, making sure to not squeeze too tight like he often did with Yosuke and the others. Smiling, he pulls back a bit to make sure he's staying as cheery as possible.

"I'm glad Nana-chan is okay! Everyone will be okay, I promise to take beary good care of them!"

"Uh-huh... You're really good at that, Teddie." Stroking the bear's ego a bit, but she really does appreciate how he'd been there for her when she was hospitalized.

Teddie puffs out his chest and acts a little bit silly for Nanako's sake. "Teddie will always be there for his friends!"

"Yeah!"

She pauses. Now that she's a little less upset...

"Um... I want to make something for Big Bro when he wakes up. Do you want to help, Teddie?"

He has friends here, he's sure of it. Unfortunately he's more of the mind to find them himself rather than ask anyone... so of course he's quite lost, and randomly peering into rooms. He doesn't seem to mind this that much, though when his eyes settle on the young girl he can't help but frown. She's too young to be alone in this sort of place... does she have family here? Is her family someone who is wounded? It's concerning.

He approaches slowly, making sure that she'll be aware of his presence.

"Hello... young miss?"

Teddie stepped away for a minute, probably to retrieve some snacks, so right now it's just Nanako and the silent figure on the bed. She looks up to see an unfamiliar white-haired man peering in at her. He's not dressed like a doctor, so he must be a visitor to the hospital... Was he one of Yu's friends?

"Hello..." She's still wary around strangers, due to her father's careful coaching, but she's not unfriendly.

He doesn't come any closer, giving her some space. He has just enough entrance to see into the room better, the young man in the bed, and understanding flickers across his face.

"That's your family, there... are you all right?"

[greaterdays]

"Yeah... I'm fine. I wasn't at the tournament."

That's probably not really what he meant.

"Neither was I. I don't really know what happened... but it seems that a lot of people were hurt. It's probably a good thing that you weren't there."

A quick glance at the figure on the bed.

"I hope he's all right..."

"The doctors say he needs to rest." As to whether that means he's 'all right,' they haven't given her the full details, but rest is supposed to make you better. Nanako believes in Yu. "He'll definitely wake up and feel a lot better."

[celebrity_commentator]

Rise, surprising no one, was hanging around herself when Nanako was there. She was, for once, at a loss for words. She didn't know what to say here, didn't know how to describe what Nanako must be feeling, or even comprehend it. After all, she didn't have a big brother, except occasionally on camera.

So instead of talking, she just put an arm around the young girl's shoulders.

"Rise-chan..." The melancholy expression perks up as the idol acknowledges her. She doesn't look hurt either. Hopefully that's true. "I'm glad you're okay."

[celebrity_commentator]

"I'm glad you're okay too, Nanako-chan," she said, smiling more genuinely now. Rise was more exhausted than anything, but out of all the things she was good at hiding, that was probably the one she was best at.

"And I'm sure your big bro is happy you're alright too," she said, looking at her leader again.

"Yeah... This is why he wanted me to stay home, huh?" She'd understood that there might be real fighting at the tournament, which is why she couldn't go, but she really hadn't expected anything like this.

Rise nodded. "He wanted you to be wherever you were safest. He'll be really happy to know that worked out," she said.
