What: Aftermath of Anoli Attack: Hospital
Where: Leo Ward - Caduceus Hospital Headquarters
Summary: It is the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies. The injured have been taken to Caduceus Hospital Headquarters, and it is time for reflection, visting, or old-fashioned escapes from the hospital rooms.
Warnings: Mild squick if people want to describe their wounds in explicit detail.

Caduceus Hospital Headquarters. It has a distinguished history within Hinoto-Ri, boasting of a staff of well-trained Healers, as well as possessing the most cutting edge medical technology possible. There was no limb they couldn't reattach, no organ they couldn't replace... - they even claimed to be able to bring someone back from the dead (with the small disclaimer that it could only occur under certain conditions and with an obscene amount of luck).

So needless to say, the hospital was more than well-equipped to deal with the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies.

Nearly every hospital bed had been filled by an injured patient that night. The A&E room had been in constant chaos, with civilians crying and shouting, searching for loved ones, or demanding to see doctors or healers to help so-and-so...

There had also been plenty of reporters milling about, shouting and crying over the status of the Mayor's Secretary, and whether the Red Lion had really died at the scene, or if he was still alive and well within the safety of the hospital's ICU.

By the time morning broke, there was a false sense of tranquillity within the hospital. The healers had been pushed to their limits with the sheer number of patients being wheeled in and out of surgery, but otherwise, the situation had finally gotten under control. Now, both civilians and visitors were merely waiting for word of the conditions of their injured friends and family...

[Welcome to the winding down of the event! You are now at the hospital, where you may be visiting the injured, or be one of the injured yourself! Those with RED injuries will be in the ICU, and those with YELLOW injures will be in normal wards, for obvious reasons. Those with GREEN injuries wouldn't have had to go to the hospital at all, so they are free to come and go as they wish!

[Kairi looks up curiously, having not expected anyone to call for her for a long while at least-- her immediate assumption was it was a doctor, considering the voice wasn't one she recognized easily. Looking at him for a moment, the cogs click into place and her eyes light up with recognition, mind wandering back to a conversation she'd had on the network shortly after the Teenbeat fiasco.
She offers him a small smile, lifting up a hand to wave a little.]

Daichi, right?

That's right! [He grins a bit more and talks a bit more easily once he has confirmed that yes, that is indeed Kairi and not some sort of random stranger that happened to look like her.

Man that would've been embarrassing.]

Are you OK? [Still smiling, but he quickly adopts a bit of a concerned tone.] I mean, as OK as someone can be, after all that, I guess.

I could be better, to be honest. But I guess I'm one of the luckier ones, so I can't complain too much.

[She gently smiles back, straightening back up in her chair.]

I saw you changed your mind about participating in the tournament! You put up a good fight.

[hetried]

[Oh no he'd thought he'd left that nightmare behind him.]

Y-You saw that?!

[Well OK yeah of course she saw that, she WAS at the tournament with her sister.

He sighed a little as his posture drooped.] N-Not really. I was actually gonna work the security detail, but they dragged me away to the competitor's area before the matches started and said I'd be competing instead.

Don't feel so bad Daichi, what's done is done and you did a great job. The fight music they gave you was a little silly, though.

[Her tone is teasing for the latter part, though it was probably pretty universally acknowledged that it was a silly song. Noooot gonna touch the battle outfits, though...]

Basically. I couldn't really keep up with what was going on, so I guess I just kind of went with it...

[He rubbed the back of his neck a bit awkwardly, but the compliment did get a sheepish grin. Even, if she had to bring up the song.]

Thanks, I guess. If I had known I was gonna be shoved into it I would've just signed up myself; at least then I could've picked a better song or something.

[Kairi chuckles a little at his remark.]

Well, at least people won't really remember it too well past today. Bigger things to worry about, and whatnot.

[She sighs as she realizes she'd accidentally rounded the conversation back to what she'd been trying to ignore, and runs her hand through her bangs anxiously. Even though she could feel through their bond that Naminé was going to pull through, she still wouldn't be able to rest peacefully until she saw her and casted a few cures of her own to help heal the girls wounds.]

Yeah, no doubt. [He chuckled awkwardly, lowering his arm back down.]

Is it out of line to be glad for a terrorist attack if it makes everyone forget about how embarrassing you were in public?

[Not seriously of course, but hey!

The sigh stops him for a moment, and even if he wasn't smart in a lot of aspects, he could still tell when someone was upset.] Uh... you sure everything's OK? You waiting for a friend?
