What: Aftermath of Anoli Attack: Hospital
Where: Leo Ward - Caduceus Hospital Headquarters
Summary: It is the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies. The injured have been taken to Caduceus Hospital Headquarters, and it is time for reflection, visting, or old-fashioned escapes from the hospital rooms.
Warnings: Mild squick if people want to describe their wounds in explicit detail.

Caduceus Hospital Headquarters. It has a distinguished history within Hinoto-Ri, boasting of a staff of well-trained Healers, as well as possessing the most cutting edge medical technology possible. There was no limb they couldn't reattach, no organ they couldn't replace... - they even claimed to be able to bring someone back from the dead (with the small disclaimer that it could only occur under certain conditions and with an obscene amount of luck).

So needless to say, the hospital was more than well-equipped to deal with the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies.

Nearly every hospital bed had been filled by an injured patient that night. The A&E room had been in constant chaos, with civilians crying and shouting, searching for loved ones, or demanding to see doctors or healers to help so-and-so...

There had also been plenty of reporters milling about, shouting and crying over the status of the Mayor's Secretary, and whether the Red Lion had really died at the scene, or if he was still alive and well within the safety of the hospital's ICU.

By the time morning broke, there was a false sense of tranquillity within the hospital. The healers had been pushed to their limits with the sheer number of patients being wheeled in and out of surgery, but otherwise, the situation had finally gotten under control. Now, both civilians and visitors were merely waiting for word of the conditions of their injured friends and family...

[Welcome to the winding down of the event! You are now at the hospital, where you may be visiting the injured, or be one of the injured yourself! Those with RED injuries will be in the ICU, and those with YELLOW injures will be in normal wards, for obvious reasons. Those with GREEN injuries wouldn't have had to go to the hospital at all, so they are free to come and go as they wish!

"Yeah. And between the technology and the magic, they can treat people here much more efficiently than the hospitals in my world. If something like this happened back there..." He pauses before giving a small shrug. "...Well, we'd be looking at a much higher death toll."

"Mm." Minato glances down at his arm, still in its sling. A break like that, coupled with the shoulder dislocation - not even considering the stab wound and poison - would have taken weeks (maybe even a couple months) to fully heal, but here it was simply taking days. Perhaps it might have been even faster without the complication of the poison and blood loss from the stab wound - he doesn't know. But even so, he is quite impressed. "And much longer recovery times for survivors..."

"It's really amazing. I wonder what else they can do...? I never thought to ask, but by now it's possible they've completely eliminated diseases that people still grapple with in my world." Do they even have cancer here, still?

"They might have even made some advances in the field of genetics, too. I'm getting kind of curious!"

"Me, too. But I don't know if it's all technology or if there's magic involved... Maybe we can ask next time a doctor or a nurse comes by. I haven't really talked to them much..."

Besides just answering questions about how he's feeling or following instructions.

"Ah- really? I kind of guessed they'd use healing magic. I mean, mixing both technology and magic is how these things work, right?" He gestures towards the side of his head, clearly meaning the COMPs. "...Not that I'll stop you if you wanna ask, though!"

"Right - but I meant, is it more things like the nanobots or outright spells or some kind of potions...?"

He's curious about more of the specifics, after all.

"I'm not so sure about potions... Unless they figured out a way to put it into pill-form. That still seems to be the most common form of medicine here, at least from what I've seen."

And then, a thought.

"...I wonder if I could sneak into the labs and take a peek while I'm here..."

It's hard to tell if he's being serious or not. His tone definitely indicates it at least.

"If you do, let me know what you find." Whether he's serious or not, Minato answers completely deadpan.

"Well, in that case--"

He gives a stretch, making a show of preparing to leave. "It's too bad I can't stick around, but you know how it is! I knew it was a bad idea to agree to it, but a guy like me can't just ignore a girl in tears, y'know?" He speaks loudly, as if there were actually someone around to fool with his little 'performance'.

"I'll catch you later, Minato! I'll make sure to give you the steamy details if anything happens!"

Riiight. Well, at least he looks like he's having fun as he slips out the door?

Minato smiles, shaking his head as he lifts his non-injured arm in a farewell wave. "See you."
