Farewell Happy Fields!

Farewell Happy Fields!

☯

What: Aftermath of Anoli Attack: Hospital
Where: Leo Ward - Caduceus Hospital Headquarters
Summary: It is the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies. The injured have been taken to Caduceus Hospital Headquarters, and it is time for reflection, visting, or old-fashioned escapes from the hospital rooms.
Warnings: Mild squick if people want to describe their wounds in explicit detail.

Caduceus Hospital Headquarters. It has a distinguished history within Hinoto-Ri, boasting of a staff of well-trained Healers, as well as possessing the most cutting edge medical technology possible. There was no limb they couldn't reattach, no organ they couldn't replace... - they even claimed to be able to bring someone back from the dead (with the small disclaimer that it could only occur under certain conditions and with an obscene amount of luck).

So needless to say, the hospital was more than well-equipped to deal with the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies.

---

Nearly every hospital bed had been filled by an injured patient that night. The A&E room had been in constant chaos, with civilians crying and shouting, searching for loved ones, or demanding to see doctors or healers to help so-and-so...

There had also been plenty of reporters milling about, shouting and crying over the status of the Mayor's Secretary, and whether the Red Lion had really died at the scene, or if he was still alive and well within the safety of the hospital's ICU.

By the time morning broke, there was a false sense of tranquillity within the hospital. The healers had been pushed to their limits with the sheer number of patients being wheeled in and out of surgery, but otherwise, the situation had finally gotten under control. Now, both civilians and visitors were merely waiting for word of the conditions of their injured friends and family...

[Welcome to the winding down of the event! You are now at the hospital, where you may be visiting the injured, or be one of the injured yourself! Those with RED injuries will be in the ICU, and those with YELLOW injures will be in normal wards, for obvious reasons. Those with GREEN injuries wouldn't have had to go to the hospital at all, so they are free to come and go as they wish!

You may all start your threads and mingle!]

"That she was. She spoke of Gods as well. We must not hesitate when dealing with this witch-breed. She is no sanctionate, there is no control over what she does AND I have heard her call out to the.... gods."

He almost snarls the word.

"Don't hesitate to cut them down, should we encounter them again. Though I think.... it would be best if we had some way of nullifying her abilities."

He hesitates. He hates owing xenos-breeds, but the witch was far worse, obviously consorting with dark gods.

"There isn't much I can offer in a way to stop her abilities."

She had somehow held him back and thrown him without touching him. That was what bothered him. There was no defense against that.

"The Tau don't have abilities like that. But I can say that my shield managed to stop her projectile magics."

Heretical technology is their one barrier. Wonderful.

One more scowl later, he nods.

"Interesting. Good to know."

He has a suspicion he knows who could counter or defeat her telekinetic powers but... while he likes Meetra as a comrade, he is still uncomfortable with her resemblance to a psyker, specifically a librarian. Asking this of her would be a difficult thing.

"I may have an idea, but I hesitate to speak of it yet. I must think about it first."

And speak with Meetra, as well.

"Heal up. If we can find traces of those traitors I'll get Ferrus and... whoever else I think we can trust and hunt them down as soon as possible."

"I need to speak with Ferrus too."

The first time he called him by name. But it was time to get the man involved in heretical xenos tech.

"If his skill is as advertised, there is a weapon I think he can make with my help."

Kais is leaving out the fact that it could take out light vehicles and Space Marines with ease. But really, he'd like to see one of those people dodge a shot from a railrifle.

"Do it."

Garviel, perhaps foolishly, trusts Ferrus not to do anything overtly heretical. Though, again, even he has been issued xeno-tech devices in the course of his work for the Sigilite. The little compromises we make for the sake of humanity. Another twist in his lips, as though he's eaten something foul.

"If it can kill them, it will no doubt be useful."

He turns to go, not out of disgust, but simply because he considers the conversation over. Besides, talking with xeno-breeds was perhaps interesting, but the strange cobalt-infused blood of the xeno had a smell to it he didn't like.

Kais didn't stop him. He wasn't much for small talk, didn't feel like small talk, and knew Space Marines didn't enjoy small talk either. Both had stated their intentions and plans. More than likely, they could coordinate later, at a time when they were both in better moods.
