What: Aftermath of Anoli Attack: Hospital
Where: Leo Ward - Caduceus Hospital Headquarters
Summary: It is the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies. The injured have been taken to Caduceus Hospital Headquarters, and it is time for reflection, visting, or old-fashioned escapes from the hospital rooms.
Warnings: Mild squick if people want to describe their wounds in explicit detail.

Caduceus Hospital Headquarters. It has a distinguished history within Hinoto-Ri, boasting of a staff of well-trained Healers, as well as possessing the most cutting edge medical technology possible. There was no limb they couldn't reattach, no organ they couldn't replace... - they even claimed to be able to bring someone back from the dead (with the small disclaimer that it could only occur under certain conditions and with an obscene amount of luck).

So needless to say, the hospital was more than well-equipped to deal with the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies.

Nearly every hospital bed had been filled by an injured patient that night. The A&E room had been in constant chaos, with civilians crying and shouting, searching for loved ones, or demanding to see doctors or healers to help so-and-so...

There had also been plenty of reporters milling about, shouting and crying over the status of the Mayor's Secretary, and whether the Red Lion had really died at the scene, or if he was still alive and well within the safety of the hospital's ICU.

By the time morning broke, there was a false sense of tranquillity within the hospital. The healers had been pushed to their limits with the sheer number of patients being wheeled in and out of surgery, but otherwise, the situation had finally gotten under control. Now, both civilians and visitors were merely waiting for word of the conditions of their injured friends and family...

[Welcome to the winding down of the event! You are now at the hospital, where you may be visiting the injured, or be one of the injured yourself! Those with RED injuries will be in the ICU, and those with YELLOW injures will be in normal wards, for obvious reasons. Those with GREEN injuries wouldn't have had to go to the hospital at all, so they are free to come and go as they wish!

Ferrus did not, however, stop smiling or flushing. There was a flicker of uncertainty, but he quickly shut it down and moved along.

"...My injuries aren't terrible. I mostly got put here for blood loss." This was maybe sugar coating it a little - he had clawlike streaks along his back and front, after all. But hey. Did he need to go into that?

Oh, Ferrus; you should have known better.

"Not like us fighting was worthwhile," Rune replied stubbornly. "The stupid reporter we were protecting recorded the whole thing."

She frowned, glancing to the side. "...it wasn't our most glorious moment."

She could still see it in her head... Ferrus falling, her Soul Persona appearing... and... Her stomach twisted painfully, and she winced, wrapping her arms around herself.

"Glory in battle is a rare thing. Mostly, you just survive. Or you don't."

He grunts, noticing her shift.

"Something wrong?"

Rune glanced at him again, before looking away. "...s'nothing."

Ferrus just... awkwardly reached over with his metal hand and patted Rune on the shoulder. Rune, pls.

"...That's true. I'm glad I survived." He's just replying to Garviel's original note to distract from her little shudder - even if that last part is a slight lie. It's a distortion of the truth - he's happy he's not dead, but he'd be ambivalent. Just like he was when Mochizuki was ripping into him.

Anyway.

He noticed Rune's shudder, and given he broke off a hug midway he's just gonna assume it's related to that. Totally his fault. Sorry, Rune.

...! Wait. Would this mentioning of the recording motivate Garviel to look up the footage? He had used his Persona during it...!

"Mh. Yes." He looks at them both and says.

"Do you wish me to leave you two alone?"

There he goes assuming intimacy. He doesn't get humans much.

"Hunh? Why?" Rune asked, completely missing what he was getting at. Garviel, she's sixteen, what even. "It's fine; I was just yelling at him for freaking me out."

Ferrus is 32 and he doesn't seem to understand either. "...You can stay if you'd like, sir." He seems equally confused, by the look on his face.

His hand moves away from Rune, now, awkwardly moving to cradle the back of his head and lightly scratch at it. Garviel, what???

"You two are friends, and she was fussing over you. I felt as though I was intruding."

[pistolsakimbo]

"Yeeeeeah... friends are allowed to freak out over each other, last I checked."

Seriously, Garviel. What are you getting at?

Seeing as Ferrus had been like HOW RESPOND earlier to Rune's hug...

He was actually okay with Garviel barging in, really.

But... he'd let the question asking be handled by Rune. He'll just look confused.

"I'm just not used to mortals. At all."

Really he's not. Torgaddon would have made a joke about Ferrus wiping his arse with his metal hand and left it at that.

"Well you should start getting used to us. There are a lot of us here," Rune replied with a sigh, dangling her legs back and forth.

"...That's true."

...Did that apply to Space Marines? Assocating with mortals more? Ferrus wasn't sure, so he was just going to support Rune.

Getting used to them wasn't bad, after all...

"There were in the Imperium as well. At any rate, I'll leave you two to... well, being human. I have plans to make."
