It begins. A strange aura spreads out over Hinoto-Ri, stealing into the hearts, minds, and mouths of every denizen of the city, changing them - embiggening their souls with the power of TRUTHINESS.

[Lucas can't quite keep the slight gasp from emerging.]
That long, really? ...And you've been OK with staying here all that time?

I worry a lot about my friends, of course. Even though we defeated the person we thought was behind all of the demon attacks, it seems there is still more to it than we had thought. The idea of them fighting without me is... difficult.
But I can't bring myself to abandon the people here, either. Times are desperate, and if there's anything I can do to help them, I want to give it my all.

[Lucas sighs lightly to himself, his expression slightly downcast now.]
I feel the same way, but... I can't imagine leaving my world for that long. I... If I knew it was OK, then... I wouldn't mind being here at all.

Part of what gives me strength is the friends I have made here. I think if it weren't for them, I may have returned to my world a long time ago.
But as it is... I sincerely hope that, working together, we will be able to do something for this place. And maybe once that is done with, I will be able to return to my world in peace.

[He has considered many of the same things himself. He gives a small nod.]
I guess. The longer I stay here, the less it will feel like I have to be at home. Time stops after all...
no subject
I don't think you'll ever stop missing it. But it does get a little easier with time, yes.
no subject
...Miss Aoi?
Do you mind if I ask you another question? It will be... a little strange.

[She does consider it for a while before shaking her head.]
I... don't think we could, no. Or at least, if there is a way I haven't heard of anyone finding it so far.

[Lucas turns away with a slight nod.]
I-I see. ...I didn't think so.
[His voice, normally already soft, is trembling.]
no subject
[She gives his hand a small squeeze, in apology.]
...Was there something you wanted to bring back?
no subject
[He shakes his head and tries not to feel the lump catching in his throat.]
No, not a something.
no subject
What is it? What do you want to bring home?
no subject
N -- Nn... N-N-No...
I don't want to bring anything home. I don't want anything else! I just... I just want m-my... my brother............
[The waterworks commence.]
no subject
Slowly, she crouches down to his height, very tentatively reaching out a hand to place comfortingly on his shoulder.]
I'm... I'm so sorry.
no subject
C-C-Claus...
I-I never thought I'd s-see him and then, and then he was here. B-But... But... It doesn't matter because this isn't real a-and it won't ever be and it's n-not --
Not fair.
no subject
Although it's tentative at first, she slowly pulls him into a gentle embrace.]
I... I know. [It's not fair. To lose the people you love and care about without discrimination, it's not fair.] I know. I'm so, so, sorry...!
no subject
S-Sorry...
[Is all he can manage for a little while. The sound of his sniffling and gasping for breath echoes around the streets for a bit and he turns his face firmly away from Aoi.]
...
...
...
Sorry.
no subject
...It's alright. If you need to cry, it's... best to get it off your chest now, I think.
no subject
[A slight shake of his head now as he glances up.]
I-I thought I'd... finished already earlier this afternoon. ...Sorry.
[It seems apologizing is his default mode of conversation.]
no subject
You... were lonely, weren't you?
no subject
...He's dead. But he's also... here. In the city. He just came today.
no subject
[She almost draws back in surprise. Almost.
...Then again, Otonashi was a similar case, wasn't he?]
...Was he brought here before, or after he... [died]?
