01 Job Hunting
Who: Fabulous Demon Overlord Kazuya and YOU
Where: Virgo ward
Summary: Kazuya looking for a job - well, trying to, anyway.
Warnings: Demon Overlords do not do jobs.
Kazuya had come to an unfortunate truth.
He needed a job.
He couldn't go back to his own world with his Bel powers on the fritz, so until he discovered a way to get them working again, or a portal home of some sort, he would have to get comfortable for the amount of time he would stay here. Which meant he would need to get an income, i.e a job.
It was a bit weird to think about, really, since he had thought that doing something as mundane as working was beyond him now. His days were to be filled with the war against God, not doing human work things. Could he even consider himself human anymore? Probably not. He found it hard to think in human terms at times and even his ability to empathise was starting to erode away.
But that was depressing to think about. Let's go back to the lesser evil: working.
Kazuya thought that it would be best to go through the Virgo ward, since it was the shopping ward, but nothing really enticed him. He couldn't see himself working retail - he doubted he could keep his temper if he had to deal with difficult customers - but there wasn't much else. Maybe he could do warehouse work...
Urrrrgh...
So here, have a frustrated looking Demon Overlord mooching about the shops. Got job offers? Brilliant! If you want to simply bug him? Even better!

He hooked his arm around his friend's neck suddenly, lifting his other hand to grind his knuckles into Atsuro's scalp through his hat, letting out a quiet snigger. "Bet you would like it if I did though! Hey..."
Kazuya released his friend, bounding ahead with his cape snapping out at the wind. "Think I would get discounts if I did?"
no subject
...The tech geek winces and readjusts his hat.
"Sheesh, like they'd even let you apply. What would you need any of this stuff for, huh?" Don't answer that, Kazuya. "You should get a job in the Aquarius district. We can grab lunch on our breaks."
no subject
"Aquarius district?" he frowned in thought. "What's that one again? Still sort of new to all of these ward places."
no subject
"It's the one with the schools." ...He tries to sound as chipper as possible. Demon!Kazuya probably wasn't a big fan of higher education. "I've got a job fixing computers and doing tech support at the university. It's kinda like getting a taste of what life'll be like for the next four years. ...If I lived in a city post-armageddon."
no subject
Unlike his cousin or his friend, the extent of his computing knowledge was how to turn the thing on and surf the internet. That was it.

He nods to himself sagely. "I have a lot of daydreams about being the Class Rep."

"...You can eat their souls if they get out of line!"
That was a joke. ...Probably.
no subject
"Nah. Besides, I'd have to wear a dorky outfit most likely. I'll look for something else."
no subject
"What kind of thing are you thinking of, then?"

Atsuro blinks for a few moments.
"Really lame. C'mon, seriously, what do you want to do? You're making me imagine Belphegor driving the trash truck here."
no subject
Kazuya sniggered at the mental image and turned around, lifting his hands high up in the air to stretch in the same manner as a lazy cat. "Mmmmm...I dunno. I want something active where I get to move around a lot. Stalking the halls for naughty students doesn't sound...that fun."
no subject
"It's too bad there's no official demon-fighting league or anything. There's just a tournament league for play."
no subject
"I'll think of something. If it comes down to it I'll just bug you at your job all day instead."
no subject
He perks up slightly at his friend's next comment. "Yeah, sure! You can be... my assistant! Atsuro Kihara's Number One Apprentice! That's irony - or something along those lines, I think."

Despite his airy, careless attitude, Kazuya...actually did want that. It felt like an eternity ago where he and Atsuro just goofed off at school, or during the holidays, so this was kind of, sort of, some fun nostalgia.

ultra geek-domthe high-tech pathway to the future."Hey, yeah! I mean, it's not like there's much to do when there's a physical part that needs replacing - and I can show you some of the software stuff. I'll see if they need someone else!"
no subject
Made him feel wrong-footed.
"Just don't expect me to turn into a tech whizz like Naoya."
