01 Job Hunting
Who: Fabulous Demon Overlord Kazuya and YOU
Where: Virgo ward
Summary: Kazuya looking for a job - well, trying to, anyway.
Warnings: Demon Overlords do not do jobs.
Kazuya had come to an unfortunate truth.
He needed a job.
He couldn't go back to his own world with his Bel powers on the fritz, so until he discovered a way to get them working again, or a portal home of some sort, he would have to get comfortable for the amount of time he would stay here. Which meant he would need to get an income, i.e a job.
It was a bit weird to think about, really, since he had thought that doing something as mundane as working was beyond him now. His days were to be filled with the war against God, not doing human work things. Could he even consider himself human anymore? Probably not. He found it hard to think in human terms at times and even his ability to empathise was starting to erode away.
But that was depressing to think about. Let's go back to the lesser evil: working.
Kazuya thought that it would be best to go through the Virgo ward, since it was the shopping ward, but nothing really enticed him. He couldn't see himself working retail - he doubted he could keep his temper if he had to deal with difficult customers - but there wasn't much else. Maybe he could do warehouse work...
Urrrrgh...
So here, have a frustrated looking Demon Overlord mooching about the shops. Got job offers? Brilliant! If you want to simply bug him? Even better!

Nessiah wasn't impressed with people who mooched around not buying anything.

Kazuya snapped out of his brooding at the unimpressed tone, turning to the source of the voice. He did a slight double-take at the bizarre get-up, but considering he himself wasn't wearing socially normal clothing, decided he couldn't really say much.
"Oh, sure," he said after a pause, turning back to the shelf and picking up a fluorescent lightbulb. "Sorry. Kind of got lost in my head there."

There was something about him, something that didn't sit well with him; something like what he felt around Naoya, but more.
Still, Gabe was only quietly paranoid, so he stopped out side his shop and began to unlock the door. Who did early morning starts anyway?
"You lost or do you find enjoyment in wandering around aimlessly?"
no subject
Was this an angel? Shit, had they followed him here...?
Kazuya kept his expression blank, even though he was openly wary, his scarlet eyes slightly narrowed. Best not to jump to conclusions. This guy didn't look like he recognised him, in any case, and he didn't feel like an angel he met. Not Remiel, Sariel, or Anael...
"...just looking for a job," he said after a brief pause, reaching up to fidget with the collar of his dark cape. "You know, money and all that."
no subject
He shrugged. "You wanna work in a candy shop? There aren't any other employees right now and, hey, you get to sample the merchandise, if you want to." It wasn't that he needed help but this guy was looking for a job and Gabe didn't really like working by himself.

That would mean he would have to deal with little kids, wouldn't it? They would be drawn to the candy shop like vultures to a corpse, and Kazuya was - well, okay with kids, but when gaining his Bel powers and casting aside his humanity, he had noticed that his patience and temper had shortened considerably when it came to screaming humans.
On the other hand, he could keep a closer eye on this angel. He didn't seem threatening, but Kazuya knew how angels were like snakes in the grass. Docile at first before lunging out in a sudden bite. Pfft, and people said demons were horrible. Least you knew where you stood with them.
"It's a tempting offer, I guess. You just start up this store or something?"
Sorry for the lateness, I lost the tag. @-@
"There's no uniform cause I haven't decided how I feel about those just yet, and we're not open Mondays." Well....technically. Gabriel refused to work Mondays, he was the patron saint of them and, besides, they were lousy days to work on, why bother?
No prob!
He tapped his foot idly against the ground, letting out a small 'whuff' of air as he stared at the angel from the corner of his eye. His gaze was piercing, as if trying to see through the human disguise and at his true form. Angels had pretty freaky bodies, urgh, just look at Aniel, or Kazfiel. Freaky.
"I'm Kazuya," he said suddenly.

After years of avoiding his own name like the plague, it was funny how easy it was to slip back into the habit. After all, what did he have to fear here? Certainly not heaven.
He held out his hand as an offer to shake.
no subject
He reached out and clasped the angel's hand in a very strong grip, giving it a curt shake before releasing. Ah. He flexed his fingers, tingles going up his arm. Definitely got something going on there.
"Cool. Kind of an old fashioned name," he said, glancing down at his hand.

A familiar voice calls out from a short distance. Atsuro is apparently doing some shopping of his own as he holds a bag or two in his hands. Three guesses as to what he spends all of his money and no peeking at the wires and cables sticking out of his bag. Atsuro and his treasure hoard of computer parts readily head towards Kazuya.
no subject
"Braved the outside for some computer parts, huh?" Kazuya teased.
no subject
As Atsuro gets closer, he sticks his tongue out briefly at his friend. "I'm surprised you're not melting."

Although the sunlight was a bit bright, but that was just because he was still getting used to his enhanced eyesight. It was better suited for night time now, really, and on bright sunny days he had to squint a lot.
no subject
"Don't worry. I'll cleanse the corruption in your soul through the power of friendship. It works all the time."
no subject
So instead of being flustered, he was pretty damn amused.
"So, uh, friendship is what you're calling it now, huh?" Kazuya drawled, turning to his friend with a wolfish grin. "Didn't know you went to these types of stores, man."
no subject
"...Corruption! Quick, avert your eyes!"
He flings his free hand to cover Kazuya's sight, probably smacking him in the face as he turns on his heels.
no subject
"Ow, hey, no need to play innocent with me," Kazuya said, mostly to tease his friend. He didn't really care about lingerie nor who wore them. Hm, was a decrease in teenage libido normal for a human turned demon? Whatever, worry at a later date. "We can look around if you want."
