Fairy Fanfic Festival

Who: Everyone signed up here!
Where: It's a secret to everybody.
When: February 14th-16th
Summary: The most terrible romantic day of the year has arrived!
Warnings: Lingerie and fluff

You awaken in a dark room.

...To the sound of giggling.

"Ohmygosh, they're finally awake!" The shrill voice elicits an uncontrollable wince of pain; as the lights flicker on, the wince is liable to evolve into a full-on expression of abject horror. Everything is pink. The bed is pink. The walls are pink. The flower petals are pink. The confetti and streamers are pink. The enormous scented candles strewn about everywhere are pink.

............The tight briefs and/or lingerie that may or may not be on your body in place of your own underwear are pink (You do get to keep your clothing, so this part is optional if you don't want to play it - your characters can wake up in their normal bedclothes or day clothes if you like. However, if your characters do wake up in sexy underwear or their PJs, their normal clothes will be in a nearby dresser.)

Before you have too much time to consider exactly what's going on, the voice sounds again.

"We are going to have so much fun! We just knew the two of you would be perfect together. No connection to the outside world whatsoever! No need to thank us! Now, we'll just be here in the corner and you two can just... oh, you know!"

The fairy blushes and sighs longingly.

"OK! Good luck!"

'The two of you'? What t --

Right about then, you realize someone else is in bed next to you.

[The event has begun! Please refer to this post to see how things will go. If you prefer not to have fairies directly involved, they will very generously allow you a little time ~alone~ if you ask, though they will return. Otherwise, they will be scribbling notes, drawing and narrating your "steamy romance" (romance may not be as steamy as implied). Characters can attack the fairies all they like, but it will have no effect, as they're projecting themselves in with magic while they watch from the safety of their little pixie laptops.

Remember that you control the fairies and what they say. We've created an npc account [personal profile] pixielove and you can find the password here, so have fun! You're free to use the account or not at your discretion.

Additionally, for the 14th to the 15th at night, anyone stuck together will not be able to contact the outside world. Don't worry, the fairies will let everyone know you're safe!]

He's right: they haven't shared a bed together in a long time. Those days are long behind the both of them now. But some things still don't change all that much, and Shinjiro is still as heavy of a sleeper as he's always been—more than Akihiko would ever be. It often takes more than the sharp notes of an alarm clock to wake him up, so he's hardly disturbed when Akihiko wakes, and starts to explore the room. Shinjiro might have been very well content to sleep longer, and avoid waking up in this current pink-roomed monstrosity that they've somehow landed themselves in.

But the sound of breaking glass dashes those plans pretty quick, and the noise is foreign enough, sharp enough, to startle Shinjiro awake, and he bolts upright, brain still foggy, but working quickly to piece together the situation, so he doesn't look startled for long. His eyes immediately fly int he direction the sound had came from, suddenly aware of the strange, unfamiliar surroundings and all the broken glass and Aki standing in the center of it.

What?

"The hell, Aki?"

Akihiko looks over his shoulder at Shinji when he hears him speak. "Good, you're up. Help me break all of the mirrors in this place." He asks, stepping bravely (and stupidly) around the broken glass in his bare feet. There's got to be a trick to all of this. He'll figure it out. Or Shinji will. He can't take credit for getting out of every mess, but he makes sure he can contribute.

The look Aki receives in turn in a puzzled one, if suddenly exasperated at the sheer amount of glass shards on the floor. He thinks he hears voices coming from somewhere, high-pitched and giggling, but can't pinpoint it, though he feels damned cold, and the boxers are hideous. He'd rather try to find some clothes than break a bunch of mirrors, currently. Figure out what the hell's going on before any of them try punching out anything.

"Not until you tell me what the hell we have to break 'em for. Only thing you're gonna do is hurt yourself."
boxingemperor: (I don't get it.)

"That's how it worked last time." Aki explains, unfortunately not in a clear manner. "Minako-chan and I got stuck in the Love Hotel, and the only way out was to break certain mirrors." He only makes manners worse. "Ah!" He slices the side of his foot, but simply pulls the shard out and continues his warpath to make unshattered glass non-existent.

That mission was in a Love Hotel? Not that he had been given very many details about that night, but Shinjiro had never really felt like asking. The day came, and went, and the mission was over and done with. He hadn't been looking for a play by play. But the admission now is leading to a couple of very raised eyebrows. He and Minako had gotten stuck in there? Makes him curious, anyway.

So Aki thinks they're in—

"Look, this isn't a—"

He cuts himself off. ...Because, hell, maybe they are in a love hotel. Not that Shinjiro has much a frame of reference, but he's heard plenty. Chintzy, cheap hotels to buy for a few hours or a night. Worn out mattresses and gaudy décor (their current room is that, if nothing else).

But it's not like Hinoto-Ri exactly caters to tourists (their presence aside, unless demons counted), but there were hotels still. Narrow that down and there were only a few explicit reasons why hotels were made use of anymore, even the proper ones that weren't stuck in the Taurus ward and advertising a cheap room for sex. But even if that's where they were—in Hinoto-ri or otherwise, because the last time he'd woken up in a different place he was in that helltower—it's not like he was going to push Aki down onto the bed and not let him leave. Probably would get punched for the effort and it ain't like he finds that romantic.

It's probably amazing Aki's even assuming they're in a love hotel in the first place. The impression that one made must've left some kind of mark on him. Damn kid's growing up, even if he still insists on doing stupid shit and not being careful enough.

"You idiot." He stands up, crossing the carpet and evading the shard of glass. "Sit down. You're gonna bleed all over the damn carpet."

boxingemperor: (I won't lose!)

[personal profile] boxingemperor 2014-02-21 06:03 am (UTC)(link)
"There's no time to sit." It might be stupidity, and it might be the fact that he still can't shake his exaggerated survival instincts. It could very well be both, too. Aki prefers to act.

Sure, that cut stings -- a lot -- but it's not serious enough to stop for. But he'll at least hold still as Shinji makes his way over.

"Something's not right." He's seeing and hearing things, and this room brings back bad (and embarrassing) vibes.

Something wasn't right? No shit.

"Then maybe you shouldn't have stepped on a piece of glass. What makes you think that breaking bunch of mirrors is gonna work the same as back home, anyway?"

He picks his way past the broken glass and enters into the bathroom. He grabs a couple small hand towels that are there, soaking one through with water, before walking back into the main room. He'd rather find his damn clothes before breaking mirrors, all things considered. Nothing's popped out to kill them yet.

"Now sit down so I can take care of your foot."
boxingemperor: (I don't get it.)

[personal profile] boxingemperor 2014-02-24 09:49 am (UTC)(link)
"They might have--" Akihiko decided to oblige Shinji and sit on the edge of the bed. Their prison was still relatively relaxed. In fact, Aki was probably the most dangerous being in the room at the moment with the mess he'd made. "Can they do that here? Pick your brain?"

He glanced around the room again, hoping to find something out of place. That would likely be the key to getting out of the room. "You got any ideas?"
themortalhalf: ([Scan] ♞ nothing of worth)

[personal profile] themortalhalf 2014-03-10 06:39 am (UTC)(link)
And Shinjiro kneels down, inspecting Aki's foot for any shards of glass that might still be stuck in there—probably not, because that would have hurt like shit—and starts to clean his foot with the damp towel once he ascertains that there aren't any stray shards of glass in him.

"If they could read minds and shit," he says, now wrapping a clean towel around Aki's foot, and tying it in the best knot he can manage. With any luck, that'll keep the wound from getting contaminated and will coax the bleeding to stop. It wasn't that deep of a cut, at least. "I'm thinking I'd be sharing a room with a different person."

If this was really a love hotel, anyway. Now that he's awake, he feels like he had heard voices before, but he still isn't so sure. At least his ideas are better than breaking mirrors and getting glass all over.

"I'm gonna see if I can find our clothes, then we can look for a way out. Not gonna run out of this place not wearing ugly crap like this unless I have to. But for now, just keep off your foot until the bleeding stops, alright?"
boxingemperor: (I don't get it.)

[personal profile] boxingemperor 2014-03-10 07:06 am (UTC)(link)
Akihiko sighs, pulling his leg up onto the bed to inspect his bandaged foot briefly before watching Shinjiro explore the room. He was very tempted to ignore Shinji's command and continue to look around, but his best friend's words got him thinking. "Like who?" Akihiko asks, not thinking the remarks through as he probably should.
