Summary: The most terrible romantic day of the year has arrived!

You awaken in a dark room.

...To the sound of giggling.

"Ohmygosh, they're finally awake!" The shrill voice elicits an uncontrollable wince of pain; as the lights flicker on, the wince is liable to evolve into a full-on expression of abject horror. Everything is pink. The bed is pink. The walls are pink. The flower petals are pink. The confetti and streamers are pink. The enormous scented candles strewn about everywhere are pink.

............The tight briefs and/or lingerie that may or may not be on your body in place of your own underwear are pink (You do get to keep your clothing, so this part is optional if you don't want to play it - your characters can wake up in their normal bedclothes or day clothes if you like. However, if your characters do wake up in sexy underwear or their PJs, their normal clothes will be in a nearby dresser.)

Before you have too much time to consider exactly what's going on, the voice sounds again.

"We are going to have so much fun! We just knew the two of you would be perfect together. No connection to the outside world whatsoever! No need to thank us! Now, we'll just be here in the corner and you two can just... oh, you know!"

The fairy blushes and sighs longingly.

"OK! Good luck!"

Right about then, you realize someone else is in bed next to you.

[The event has begun! Please refer to this post to see how things will go. If you prefer not to have fairies directly involved, they will very generously allow you a little time ~alone~ if you ask, though they will return. Otherwise, they will be scribbling notes, drawing and narrating your "steamy romance" (romance may not be as steamy as implied). Characters can attack the fairies all they like, but it will have no effect, as they're projecting themselves in with magic while they watch from the safety of their little pixie laptops.

Remember that you control the fairies and what they say. We've created an npc account pixielove and you can find the password here, so have fun! You're free to use the account or not at your discretion.

Additionally, for the 14th to the 15th at night, anyone stuck together will not be able to contact the outside world. Don't worry, the fairies will let everyone know you're safe!]

[Agatha helps herself to one of the strawberries, making a slightly pleased noise at the taste. It's surprisingly good.]

[He nibbles on a strawberry after dipping its tip in chocolate.]

Entertainment... Surely there are other things to entertain themselves with...

You know, I don't think we introduced ourselves yet. I'm Agatha. Agatha Heterodyne.

Maybe... Although they certainly went through a lot of trouble just to do this.

[He shrugs- and then blinks at Agatha.]

Oh, that's right! We didn't!

[With a sheepish smile, he bows politely.]

Soujirou Seta. It's nice to meet you, Agatha. Ah...well I guess the circumstances could be better, but..!

I've met people under worse circumstances. A lot worse.

Actually, this is pretty pleasant by comparison. It's nice to meet you.

[He's not sure how things could get worse, but it's probably better not to think about it.]

So, I guess you like to build things?

Trust me. No one is trying to kill either of us, so this is practically fun.

[Then her smile turns bright and excited.]

Love it. There's nothing better than creating something new or different with nothing more than your own ingenuity.

Although at least under that sort of circumstance, you'd know who you should deal with...

[What can he say, he's better at battles than something like this. Yet, he can't help but chuckle a little as Agatha responds, even though her expression speaks for her already.]

Hehe, I can tell! I couldn't begin to figure out how you'd make any sort of weapon out of all this stuff you've gathered, though.

[She grins confidently. That sounded like a challenge.]

Ha! Are you kidding? There's plenty of options here. Watch.

[It's time to get to work. She turns back to their collection of stuff, cracks her knuckles, and then picks up the coffee maker. As she takes that apart, she starts humming. A strange sort of hum. Somehow she's producing two notes at once. She reaches for a coat hanger. He is about to witness the near total disregard for the laws of physics that a spark brings to the table.]

[He doesn't mean it that way, but he'll watch intently, nonetheless! Soujirou's rather eager to see what Agatha will come up with.]

[She starts working more and more quickly, humming all the while. The chocolate fountain goes the way of the coffee maker, and is soon in pieces. Occasionally she holds out a hand and makes a short demand for something. Her voice has taken on a very strange tone. More intense, with an almost vibrating timbre.]

Coat hanger.

Lightbulb!

LAMPCORD!

[As he watches a strange device begins taking shape. It's shaped like a gun, but there's no way this thing could possibly work, right? It's barrel is made from a pipe she got out of the fountain, the filament from the light bulb is now in the coffee pot which is upended on the back, and coat hangers are twined around the outside to support the structure. There is really no way this could work.

Except she turns a small dial on the side, and it begins to hum. And the coffee pot starts to glow.]

Ha! Done! Now, let's test this thing out!

[It's pretty amazing to behold. He likens it to adding raw materials from an item menu to create a new item, but this isn't as instantaneous, not to mention he's sure no preset recipe would ever be able to put something like this together.

Soujirou hands over the simpler pieces as they're called for, and for all that reason would say that such a thing couldn't possibly function, it sure looks like it could! He's no scientific expert, but the thing in Agatha's hand certainly looks capable to him!]

Wow...

[That glow's gotta account for something, right? He ignores the sudden voices of the fairies that pipe up again, although it sounded like they were saying something like, "Hey, can she do that??"]

Okay, what will the target be?

Good question!

[She suddenly turns her attention to the fairies. The look on her face does not suggest pleasant things.]

Let's start here!

[She raises the gun at fires in their direction. The fairies are very lucky they're only projections. Because the energy that arced out of that gun left a nasty scorch mark on the wall.]

[The fairies squeak in surprise at that. They hadn't written anything at all about their subjects of interest creating weapons of destruction.

Soujirou simply gapes at the resulting as the gun does function and makes quite a first impression, literally. Even if the fairy projections themselves are untouched, their expressions might not be too far off from the samurai's.]

Damn...

[With some effort, she pulls herself out of the madness place. The strange timbre leaves her voice as she sighs.]

I should've known it wouldn't be that easy.

[It takes him a moment, but Soujirou does find his voice again.]

...s-still, that was rather impressive?

Oh, do you think so? Thank you.

[She's clearly pleased at the complement, even if they haven't made any actual progress toward getting out of here.]

I could've gotten a much better result with better materials, but I've always been pretty good at making do with what I have.

That may be, but being able to do so at all is pretty amazing! Agatha-san is so talented!

[She blushes and laughs a little nervously. Agatha would never admit it, but she has a weakness for complements from handsome boys. ]


That's... very sweet of you to say. But it's really nothing special. I know plenty of sparks back home that could have done much better.

Sparks?

[Soujirou politely doesn't bring attention to that blush. It's something he's used to seeing, but then he was being quite sincere with his compliments!

The titter from the fairy projections might possibly ruin it, however.]

[She does her best to ignore the fairies, even though their tittering deepens her blush ever so slightly.]

Oh, right. I keep forgetting that most places don't have sparks.

[Hmm, how to explain? It's a difficult thing to pin down.]

Where I come from, 'spark' is the term for a particularly gifted scientist or artist. Someone who can create things that, um, go beyond the normal boundaries of what should be possible. In my world, whether you have the spark or not is a pretty big deal.

Ah... I think I get it. It sort of sounds like subclass levels for Elder Tale!

If you have a low level for something, then you aren't as likely to succeed in creating something despite having the right materials as you would be if you have a higher level.

Something like that. Although, a spark isn't really something you can get by training. Either you have the ability to break through or you don't.

[She's watched people try. And the ones that can't manage it usually drive themselves insane trying.]

Hmm... So it's something you're born with, then?

You have to be born with the potential to be a spark. Most people actually don't break through until they're teenagers.

[She only broke through a year ago, but she was handicapped by a suppressing device.]
