[Game Opening, Part 3 - A Call To Action]

After questions were answered, a man finally appears into the room, after having talked with his daughter.

"I apologize for making you all wait."

After introducing himself, Takeharu begins to explain in more detail what they've learned from this world. He goes on about the life in the city, the hurdles they had to overcome...and the strange phenomenon of the 13th hour.

"...and once midnight hits, a 13th hour commences. We had a name for a similar phenomenon in my world; the Dark Hour. However, this one doesn't seem to be caused by rampaging Shadows. We are still investigating as to why it exists...and in due time you might aid us in this task. You will all be able to observe it for yourselves quickly enough, although I would strongly suggest doing so in your own apartments. Not only are you all new visitors, previous Persona users or otherwise, but the moon is full tonight, which means the demonic population will be at a dangerous, aggressive level."

"Now before we continue, we should talk about the--"

"I repeat..."

"Damn! Six out of Twelve," A gruff-looking man stepped into the room. Judging from his outfit, he was important.

"I only know one group who's able to pull this off...the Anoli."

Takeharu looks at Kiyoshi and both men nod silently.

"We were going to talk about this later, but we don't have much time to explain who they are..."

More men appear; members of the city's Special Assault Team. About half of the men have a small flame insignia on their uniform's elbow; this signifies they are Persona users.

While Takeharu explains to the new arrivals, Kiyoshi is busy on some screens, and is talking to others by holographic projection.

"Give me a status report!"

"Sir! I've got two men down here. The doors are holding but we'll need backup as soon as you can give it to me!"

"I've got a group in route, and soon a Persona team as well."

"Reiko and myself are holding, but I believe they've been sending the blunt of their force here and in the Gemini area. No doubt to steal the prototypes we've been working on..."

"We should be able to fight them back for now, but I can't tell how many they are."

"I've got team Beta heading over. I'll send a team of Users as well."

"Sir! Massive attack in the Virgo Sector! They've broken some of the fences holding back the demonic population. There's risk of civilian casualties at this rate..."

"DAMMIT! Send a team of Wands there to patch that up as soon as they are available. I'll send a team with them to protect while they do their work."


"Sir! The Gemini Power Plant is under attack! I think they're attempting a blackout so they can get into the Laboratory."

"This is a nightmare. And where is--"

"--he went off to fight them."

"DAMMIT! We can't let him get harmed. I'm sending a team after him."

"Libra's Coin Office Tower is under attack, Sir! They're trying to get to the upper levels where we have the monetary databanks."

"A heist as well...damn they really went all out for this one...trying to cripple us from all angles."

When he's finally done, he turns over to the entire crowd. His voice is as booming as his body language. Despite the crisis he is calm and collected, easy to see why he is the Commissioner General.

"Alright listen up, since I can't repeat myself twice! We have a major crisis our hands. Anoli have broken into six sectors and my men can't fight all of them at once. None of you know me and I only know your names. Most of you haven't used a Persona yet, but I bet you've all got a few tricks up your sleeves. Magic, Weapons, Technology, whatever it is, bring it with you and we'll form you into teams. We were going to do this much more quietly later, but it looks like the Anoli have a different idea."

"Priority number one is to protect all civilians and to keep deaths as low as possible, even against the Anoli. Disarm, disable, diswhatever, as long as it's not kill and destroy. I'd rather let them in jail and face justice than to spill even more blood from this conflict." He turns around and starts to leave,

"If any of you lack weapons, talk to Q. I'm sure he'll be happy to provide you with some."

Policemen swarm around him and they start to go off in work and prepare, leaving you a bit of time before you are all called out in groups.

"Yeah, I was about to ask! You've got to have a Pale, Red, and White Rider running around town, too, right?"

"Huh?" Sorry Atsubro, his demons are very much different. "I don't think so; I'd have heard of something like that. Should there be?"

[otakuro]

"...D-Demon joke." Atsuro coughs a little to himself. "Go on."

"Ah..." Dammit, now he really wants to ask about that! Still, he needs to offer up some info of his own at this point. "Well, on top of the Rider, Ikebukuro's also well-known for its gangs these days."

[otakuro]

"...We've always had gangs around, but I'm guessing you mean more than just the odd mugging or two."

[endears]

"Mm. While we have those, there's also powerful biker gangs, the colour gangs...

And the Dollars, of course!" He sounds so proud saying that last part.

[otakuro]

Atsuro can't fathom why. "...Foreign currency is beating people up on the streets?"

[endears]

... Right, should've seen that coming. Hanging his head here. "Not exactly. Dollars is like an... online gang, I guess would be one way to put it?"

[otakuro]

"...You play MMOs in mass groups and kill all the other players?"

[endears]

"More like Dollars uses the net to co-ordinate and organise on the fly!"

[otakuro]

"Oh. ...That's cool, too!" Atsuro is kind of a dork, but he's not completely idiotic, either. "So I'm guessing I'm talking to an enthusiastic member here?"

[endears]

"... Man, was it that obvious?" He chuckles, scratching the back of his head lightly. "It took me a while, but I became a member a little while ago. I even got to see our first meet-up!"

[otakuro]

"Don't get too wild now. I don't know if the Internet is ready for the likes of you." He shakes his head in mock disapproval.

"So what kind of stuff do you guys do, then?"

[endears]

"Well... not all that much. Dollars is an anonymous group with no real goals; you could just join up and never do anything, or you can keep up with the community. There're people who've used it to organise things like cleaning up graffiti and stuff, but I think we'd never actually all worked together before that meet-up."

Which begs the question of why such a group even exists.

[otakuro]

"So... basically, you're a group of Internet friends that live nearby and you meet up sometimes."

[endears]

"... Pretty much! But the fact anyone around you could be a member is pretty cool, you know? I even know a few adults who're in the Dollars."

[otakuro]

"It's always pretty neat to meet someone in real life that you've known on the Internet! With a group that's designed for this kind of thing, it's probably a lot more exciting, too.

"Do you really call yourselves a 'gang', though?"

[endears]

"I'm not sure if that's something we do, since Dollars isn't really all that concrete in what it is, but since Ikebukuro has plenty of colour gangs, we kinda became a 'colourless' gang!"

[otakuro]

"...Could you run the 'colors' bit by me again?"

[endears]

"Well... you've heard of gangs that have symbols and stuff, right? A colour gang is one where all of the members where a particular colour!"

[otakuro]

"Hey, you'd be a shoe-in for the blue gang. Even your parents thought you'd want to join." Atsuro smiles at his not-terribly-clever joke on Aoba's name. "So... do these guys cause a lot of trouble, then?"

Oh Atsuro, if only you knew--

Aoba chuckles at the comment, smirking in a way that implies he's heard jokes like this a thousand times before. . . . Then he realises that talking about the gangs back at home might not have been the best way to brighten up the conversation.

"I'm pretty sure there was a struggle going on between two colour gangs back when I was in middle school and... one of those groups, the Yellow Scarves, ended up declaring war on the Dollars. I didn't get caught up in it myself, but a few of our members got really hurt from what I heard."

Not that gang warfare wasn't terrible in and of itself, but even hearing about something like this was preferable to discussing the events of home. Atsuro blinks in surprise for a few moments.

"...What did Dollars do that would make a gang target them?"

He sighs.

"... I'm not entirely sure about that. I heard that the Scarves might've felt threatened after our meet-up showed how big the Dollars were... but I've also heard that one of our members attacked them first; since Dollars doesn't have any rules or anything, someone could've gone off and done that on their own."

[otakuro]

"Tch..." Atsuro's face furrows in a frown as he listens to Aoba's explanation. "...Sounds like trouble. Gangs aren't necessarily bad things - The Shibuya Daemons back home were always pretty OK. But when you're getting into gang warfare, no one comes out on top, no matter who wins. It's just a big cycle that never ends."
