[Game Opening, Part 3 - A Call To Action]

After questions were answered, a man finally appears into the room, after having talked with his daughter.

"I apologize for making you all wait."

After introducing himself, Takeharu begins to explain in more detail what they've learned from this world. He goes on about the life in the city, the hurdles they had to overcome...and the strange phenomenon of the 13th hour.

"...and once midnight hits, a 13th hour commences. We had a name for a similar phenomenon in my world; the Dark Hour. However, this one doesn't seem to be caused by rampaging Shadows. We are still investigating as to why it exists...and in due time you might aid us in this task. You will all be able to observe it for yourselves quickly enough, although I would strongly suggest doing so in your own apartments. Not only are you all new visitors, previous Persona users or otherwise, but the moon is full tonight, which means the demonic population will be at a dangerous, aggressive level."

"Now before we continue, we should talk about the--"

"I repeat..."

"Damn! Six out of Twelve," A gruff-looking man stepped into the room. Judging from his outfit, he was important.

"I only know one group who's able to pull this off...the Anoli."

Takeharu looks at Kiyoshi and both men nod silently.

"We were going to talk about this later, but we don't have much time to explain who they are..."

More men appear; members of the city's Special Assault Team. About half of the men have a small flame insignia on their uniform's elbow; this signifies they are Persona users.

While Takeharu explains to the new arrivals, Kiyoshi is busy on some screens, and is talking to others by holographic projection.

"Give me a status report!"

"Sir! I've got two men down here. The doors are holding but we'll need backup as soon as you can give it to me!"

"I've got a group in route, and soon a Persona team as well."

"Reiko and myself are holding, but I believe they've been sending the blunt of their force here and in the Gemini area. No doubt to steal the prototypes we've been working on..."

"We should be able to fight them back for now, but I can't tell how many they are."

"I've got team Beta heading over. I'll send a team of Users as well."

"Sir! Massive attack in the Virgo Sector! They've broken some of the fences holding back the demonic population. There's risk of civilian casualties at this rate..."

"DAMMIT! Send a team of Wands there to patch that up as soon as they are available. I'll send a team with them to protect while they do their work."


"Sir! The Gemini Power Plant is under attack! I think they're attempting a blackout so they can get into the Laboratory."

"This is a nightmare. And where is--"

"--he went off to fight them."

"DAMMIT! We can't let him get harmed. I'm sending a team after him."

"Libra's Coin Office Tower is under attack, Sir! They're trying to get to the upper levels where we have the monetary databanks."

"A heist as well...damn they really went all out for this one...trying to cripple us from all angles."

When he's finally done, he turns over to the entire crowd. His voice is as booming as his body language. Despite the crisis he is calm and collected, easy to see why he is the Commissioner General.

"Alright listen up, since I can't repeat myself twice! We have a major crisis our hands. Anoli have broken into six sectors and my men can't fight all of them at once. None of you know me and I only know your names. Most of you haven't used a Persona yet, but I bet you've all got a few tricks up your sleeves. Magic, Weapons, Technology, whatever it is, bring it with you and we'll form you into teams. We were going to do this much more quietly later, but it looks like the Anoli have a different idea."

"Priority number one is to protect all civilians and to keep deaths as low as possible, even against the Anoli. Disarm, disable, diswhatever, as long as it's not kill and destroy. I'd rather let them in jail and face justice than to spill even more blood from this conflict." He turns around and starts to leave,

"If any of you lack weapons, talk to Q. I'm sure he'll be happy to provide you with some."

Policemen swarm around him and they start to go off in work and prepare, leaving you a bit of time before you are all called out in groups.

Yamato is surprisingly calm in the flow of chaos around him. People were hurriedly prepping for battle, or running to the man named Q for weaponry, or scattering around making allies. Ah, it was like being in Japan again during the Invasion. It was funny enough to make Yamato laugh a little.

He didn't need a weapon, thankfully. His ability restricted physical attacks in return for amp'd magic, and if push came to shove, well, Yamato always had a back up plan.

"..It isn't that funny."

S'cuse Ryu, he's just going to be a little more on-edge than is tolerant of hearing someone laugh amidst all this burgeoning turmoil.

"Hm?" Yamato's laughter quietened into a soft chuckle, his silver eyes glancing at the person who interrupted him. "No, it isn't. The resemblance is, however."

Yamato never really explains what he means, he's annoying like that.

Wow you can't just give him an opening like that and not expect him to ask, he's a game protagonist! Even if he's a somewhat non-standard one.

"Resemblance to what?"

..does he mean the frenetic scurrying of people, or the crisis itself?

Yamato's your neighbourhood friendly Anti-Hero so he's supposed to be as unhelpful as possible unless PLOT demands it!

"An Invasion," Yamato replied. His eyes scanned the crowd, which was tense with agitation and anticipation of the fight to come. Hm, speaking of the impending battles, could Yamato die? He was already dead, although given a physical body, so would he simply die again, or would the body have to be thoroughly obliterated to return his soul to the afterlife?

It was disturbing to think he might be inhabiting a homunculus, but he supposed he could experiment later. Now wasn't really the time to think on it.


"I assume you have a way to defend yourself."

Well. Here comes a man who looks equally calm - and who could be Yamato's brother if they shared the same eye color. He's chuckling as well.

"I see you, at least, aren't running around like a kicked ant colony."

It's actually rather refreshing to see.

"Hm?" Yamato glanced at the stranger. His senses prickled, telling him that this was no ordinary person, but Yamato brushed it aside. From what he could tell, in the entirety of this room everyone was more than they seemed. Just getting tense over it over and over again was getting, quite frankly, ridiculous.

However the resemblance between the two of them was a bit uncanny.

"I have experience in situations like these. Panicking does nothing but cause hindrance," he tilted his head slightly, his eyelashes lowering slightly in an expression of sly scrutiny. "You are peculiarly calm."

He shrugged, ignoring the people rushing around. There was something different about this man, aside from the resemblance. He couldn't quite put his finger on it.

"I have experience in similar situations as well. Those that can fight need to prepare, and those that can't need to get out of the way."

He, of course, is already prepared, like always.

"Hm..."

Yamato looked the stranger up and down slowly, his gaze skimming over the peculiar patterns on his clothes down to the - were those geta? Ah, nostalgia. He hadn't worn those since he was a young child. Hotsuin children dressed very traditionally.

He glanced back up to meet the stranger's eyes.

"You don't appear to be prepared for battle," he observed lightly. Although the stranger's stance was calm and collected, there was no clear weapon on his person. Not what everyone else was obtaining.

He's going to have a gun later it will be awesome.

"Appearances can be deceiving." He pulls out his own COMP, not the devices they were given here, and flicks it open. He presses the screen, and a shield flashes around him. Yamato will probably recognize it as a Shield All spell.

Oh, that catches Yamato's interest.

"...A Demon Summoning App?"

That was...hm, he didn't remember it being created for such a...clunky looking device though. It was easier to have it in a phone, in his opinion, even if the programming was given to them by Alcor of all people. However Yamato knew necessity superseded petty grudges, so he tolerated it for now.

"Indeed. I see you're familiar with it. Unfortunately a few of the attacks seem to be... mm. Disabled somehow. It's unfortunate, but I can manage."

He'd just shove Behemoth in front of him. "I had hoped to code it into something smaller, but there wasn't enough time."

Yamato hummed. "Yes. I have the application installed on my phone. A less cumbersome device than...that thing." He didn't know what that clunky thing was, although he wasn't sure he liked it. It looked extremely unwieldy.

However, Yamato hadn't thought that his abilities would be disabled. He had died - quite spectacularly (cut in half ouch) - so he supposed he could be forgiven in being absent minded over his current arsenal.

Should have run when you had the chance. "This device is a game system in my world. It was easy to distribute, given the number of people with the system, or eager to obtain it."

Well Almighty attacks are kind of overpowered... he was annoyed it wasn't working though.

"Game system...?" Yamato stared at the stranger blankly. He had no idea what a 'game system' was. Yes, he was very isolated from normal society, he knew that. He translated it to 'some weird thing civilians do' and decided to leave it at that.

"I see. Do you have a name?"

[awww_yeeeeeaaaah]

Kaito spots Yamato, and...well, he can't help but hurry over excitedly to share at least some good news.

"Dude, check out what the British guy is handing out!"

He says as he holds up a...pack of gum?

"Kaito, you shouldn't accept strange foods from strangers."

Yamato scowled at the offending piece of...whatever the hell that was. Probably some weird civilian food thing. Although as it was handed out by some nefarious person of foreign nationality, it was no doubt poisoned or something of that unpleasant nature.

"It's not food! It's explosives, just in case. All you have to do it press the two ends together and toss it."

He obviously can't wait to try it, eeeeeeee-

"I see..."

Yamato still eyed the 'explosives' suspiciously. "You still have your Demon Summoning App, don't you? Why resort to conventional weaponry anyway?"

"I was curious."

Curiosity leads to good things, Yamato, like learning about other people and explosives that you can hide your pocket!

[drakenguard]

"Curious enough to accept weapons disguised as food?" Yamato said flatly. He heaved a quiet, exasperated sigh. "...I will never understand how your bizarre mind works."

[awww_yeeeeeaaaah]

"It's cool, though! Like in spy movies, you know?"

But something does give him pause.

"Also, calling gum "food" is kind of a...stretch."

Get it?

Yamato stared blankly. He didn't know what 'gum' was, he just recognised it being some weird civilian food/treat thing. He did feel that Hiro probably made a joke with it though.

"...is it? Hm, my mistake then."

Yamato: DESTROYER OF ALL JOKES.

"Aaaaanyway, it could be useful as a last resort? You never know."

"I suppose it couldn't do much harm to keep it around," Yamato conceded, lifting his shoulders in a slight shrug. "Explosives are difficult to use correctly however, so if you do use them, try not to accidentally blow up your comrades."
