The Search for the Newcomers, December 2012 Edition.

Who: Open to Everyone, but only Newly Accepted Characters can start threads.
Where: All around the city! They appear where you want them to appear.
Summary: Newcomers arrive and by now the Government is more ready and sends everyone out to go people hunting.
Warnings: ARRIVALS. Also assume the first thread is the ones who tell you about the city, and the other tags for the character can be talking with others in the city and learning more about it.

[FOR THOSE IN THE CITY:]
They were getting much better at this, it was for certain.

Last month's initial testing of the HORUS system had worked really well. The device which allowed everyone to spot abnormalities; and now even more refined, they could hone in on newcomers at a much faster pace. The leftover energy from the travel (commonly called Magatama Residue) gave them a few minutes to find them before it would flicker out.

Combined with the fact they could appear in most parts of the city, it made finding the newcomers was both easy yet frustratingly difficult.

As the blips appear on your own radar function, it was also nice enough to calculate for you the best transport and destination routes to take to get there. Speed was of the essence, after all.

[FOR THOSE WHO JUST ARRIVED:]
You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

[OOC: As stated above, only new characters can start a thread, but feel free to jump in any of them. characters arrive with their clothing and whatever items they had on them the moment they were taken; the remaining items will be later found in their apartments.]

"At least they have a red light district here. Bound to be some fun to have." Besides, he'd probably need money here, he could always go back to his old ways.

The vampire wandered a bit more before deciding a roof-side view was probably best and flew up to the top of a building, standing on the edge to get a better view. This was vastly different than what he'd become accustomed to...and yet, it reminded him of L.A. in a way.

"Mmm....time for a clean slate~ And...maybe we'll see some of the others again. Hopefully." He looked up at the night sky, vaguely realizing that no bubble meant no more sun for him...oh well.

A dark figure crisscrossed with glowing green lights came out of the bar across the street, zipping a hoodie on as she looked up at the night sky as well, sticking her hands in the pockets of the hoodie. She spotted a mysterious figure on the roof, but her demon powers hadn't come with night vision, so she couldn't make out who it was.

Johnny's eyes widened as the smell of demon hit his nose. It was strange, different from what he was used to smelling, but it had that same spice that was distinctly demon.

He looked down, studying the figure below.

Well, not all demons were bad, just Barry, really.

"Hello, down there. Have a fun night?"

She smiled, cheeks red. "You bet I am! This is the best place to hang out and relax, adult-style. What about you?"

"Mmmm~~ Adult-style, huh~? Sounds good." He winked at her and gestured around the area. "I'm exploring~ Just arrived~"

"Yep, it's exactly what you're thinking and it's so good." She grinned mischievously.

"You just arrived? Welcome to Hinoto-Ri! I'm Shura. Maybe I can help if you have questions."

"I might have to take a look, then~" He smirked in return, hands going for his pockets. "Hold on a sec." He stepped off the edge of the roof and floated down till his feet touched the ground. Levitation was useful for short distances.

Once his feet were on the ground, he stepped forward and offered his hand. "Lovely to meet you, Shura, my name is Johnny Rayflo. Mmm...Question wise...pretty certain my only question would involve jobs. I assume this place requires money~?" Unlike Vatheon.

Shura took the offered hand to shake it. "Likewise, Johnny... The government allows us a certain amount each month, but it's mostly for food and bare necessities. If you want more money, you can get a job. A lot of places are looking for help."

Well, unless this place sold bloodpacks, food wasn't likely to be a cost issue for him. Surely there were fanatics here too who would be willing to trade blood for sex. "Ah, well, that's useful. Hmm...I've got experience in running a bakery, a bar, and...the usual fare you might find in a place like this. Perhaps I'll have to poke around here."

In a world full of demons like this, there has to be some freaky people ready to do just that. "Man, if you have experience they'll love you even more! A lot of people brought in are just teenagers with little qualifications or experience..."

"Mmm...you don't look like a teenager~ But, I can understand the disadvantage in having children as your work force. Maybe I'll open a bar." A bar with desserts. Why not? At least then these teenagers could come too. Or, hey, maybe a dessert bar! "Mmm...or I'll look around and see if any of these places have a 'back room' looking to be occupied." That was more said to himself, but still. It wasn't like he was out of practice being a companion.

He turned a smile on Shura. "Do you have a job here, Ms. Shura~?"

"I'm not a teenager anymore, no." Even if she might still be one by age number, she had grown much in the Vortex.

"A job?" She scratched the back of her head. "Um, well, for the holidays I'm a photographer for a mall Santa. I don't think I'd be good for a job in this ward..." she blushed.

He chuckled- "Well, I don't know~" -and leaned in close with a wink. "Practice makes perfect after all~~" He allowed her her space again and stuck his hands on his hips.

"Still,there's more than stripping and porn to a place like this~ Ah, but, photography, even seasonal, is a good job~ You can use that for other things later~"

At least the nightlife could prove to hold some interest. Or at least convenience from Garra's standpoint. The lack of brilliant, dazzling sun provides ample opportunity for shadow to gather and cast itself upon the scape of the city and that in turn gives the parasite plenty to explore.

It's certainly not a place like any he's seen before--the buildings are too rectangular, too bright within--but it's still interesting, and there's a grin upon his face as he crawls easily along the side of one building and then jumps, clearing the street at attaching himself to another. It affords him space to crawl up to one of those lit windows and peer in not too far from Johnny. For what it lacked in strength his Host's half-demon was pretty useful when it came to skulking around.

The vampire had to admit, after only being around a few demons for so long, this place made his skin crawl...there was demonic energy everywhere and he had no idea how much was malevolent and how much was benign.

As he looked around, he caught scent of one such demon scent, though it wasn't as strong. Johnny let his hand run down the blade at his hip, making sure it was still there, before crossing his arms and moving to peer over the edge of the roof.

"Who's there?"

It's this weird-looking guy that will greet him when the vampire looks over, black eyes blinking once as he stops. One hand remains poised over the window in an attempt to open it. A man staring over the edge of a building is infinitely more interesting though and Garra abandons his half-hearted break-in attempt to stare right back at him.

"...Me?"
