The Search for the Newcomers, December 2012 Edition.

Who: Open to Everyone, but only Newly Accepted Characters can start threads.
Where: All around the city! They appear where you want them to appear.
Summary: Newcomers arrive and by now the Government is more ready and sends everyone out to go people hunting.
Warnings: ARRIVALS. Also assume the first thread is the ones who tell you about the city, and the other tags for the character can be talking with others in the city and learning more about it.

[FOR THOSE IN THE CITY:]
They were getting much better at this, it was for certain.

Last month's initial testing of the HORUS system had worked really well. The device which allowed everyone to spot abnormalities; and now even more refined, they could hone in on newcomers at a much faster pace. The leftover energy from the travel (commonly called Magatama Residue) gave them a few minutes to find them before it would flicker out.

Combined with the fact they could appear in most parts of the city, it made finding the newcomers was both easy yet frustratingly difficult.

As the blips appear on your own radar function, it was also nice enough to calculate for you the best transport and destination routes to take to get there. Speed was of the essence, after all.

[FOR THOSE WHO JUST ARRIVED:]
You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

[OOC: As stated above, only new characters can start a thread, but feel free to jump in any of them. characters arrive with their clothing and whatever items they had on them the moment they were taken; the remaining items will be later found in their apartments.]

Death isn't sure where he is, but that's starting to become something of a recurring theme at this point. So there's a tall skeleton with a scythe, dressed in black, wandering around the city.

You might hear a voice that sounds like crashing tombstones in your head if you walk by him. As he's looking around and talking.

WELL THIS CERTAINLY ISN'T THE DISC.

Oh god. Oh god, oh god, oh god. Why is there a monster wandering around outside the Dark Hour? Nano drops the bag of groceries she's carrying as she freezes up in terror at the sight of Death. An orange rolls out of the bag and to a halt as it bumps up against his foot. Nano, meanwhile, is speechless and staring in mute horror.

Death picks up the orange and looks over holding it out.

DID YOU DROP THIS?

Nope, too terrified to respond. At least not verbally, anyway. Nano very slowly nods her head.

He holds it out to her.

HERE YOU GO THEN.

"PALE RIDER!" Oh wow is she happy to see a familiar figure she actually likes. She's actually running across the street over to Death. Sadly, Death is not PAle Rider, but he looks so much like Pale Rider it's only normal that Shura would mistake one for the other.

"It's so good to see you! Where's your horse?"

I'M NOT SURE. HE SEEMS TO HAVE STAYED BEHIND IN THE TOWN....

I'M SORRY, DO I KNOW YOU?

"Huh? It's me, the Hitoshura!" There was an awkward pause as Shura remembered that yeah, different worlds and stuff. "Um...maybe in your world we haven't met yet or something?" Even awkwarder pause. "You ARE Pale Rider, right?"

I HAVE BEEN CALLED THAT. BUT I AM MOSTLY CALLED DEATH. I AM ALSO FROM THE DISCWORLD.

And he's pretty sure you're not from the Disc, and he doesn't remember meeting you in Mayfield.

Ruri just stands there watching the reaper wander by with all her usual deadpan.

"This probably should unnerve me but seems to be far too common."

WHAT DOES?

Oh hey Ruri, someone he knows.

"Death walking among us. You are Death, correct?"

This is Ruri, but she looks about 3 years younger than her Mayfield incarnation.

"Indeed, it certainly is not."

S/he smirked faintly, a trace of red in her jaw line. How intriguing to come across yet another manifestation of what s/he is. The "powers that be" are certainly making this for an entertaining show.

[Death glances over. Still thinking.]

DOES IT KIDNAP PEOPLE REGULARLY?

Well crap, what do you say to a guy who looks and feels like the Grim Reaper? He wasn't one of the demons or anything, was he?

[He likes to open with this, as yeah he's pretty sure he knows why most people react like this when they see him, but feels it's more polite to to ask just in case.]

If it wasn't for the fact she's heard Viridi's brand of telepathy she would be as startled by the sudden voice in her head as one normally would be.

But it was still a voice in her head and while she had seen many demons around that was still a being who looked very much like the grim reaper walking around. She couldn't help but be started.

"Uh, no, sir. It isn't." What even was 'the disc'? "Has no one assisted you just yet?" Because with a line like that what else could he be but a newcomer?

Death looks over at her.

WAS SOMEONE SUPPOSED TO?

"Not 'supposed to' but people here tend to look out for newcomers and explain the situation. It can be disorienting at times."

This place looks even more confusing then Mayfield.
