The Search for the Newcomers, December 2012 Edition.

Who: Open to Everyone, but only Newly Accepted Characters can start threads.
Where: All around the city! They appear where you want them to appear.
Summary: Newcomers arrive and by now the Government is more ready and sends everyone out to go people hunting.
Warnings: ARRIVALS. Also assume the first thread is the ones who tell you about the city, and the other tags for the character can be talking with others in the city and learning more about it.

[FOR THOSE IN THE CITY:]
They were getting much better at this, it was for certain.

Last month's initial testing of the HORUS system had worked really well. The device which allowed everyone to spot abnormalities; and now even more refined, they could hone in on newcomers at a much faster pace. The leftover energy from the travel (commonly called Magatama Residue) gave them a few minutes to find them before it would flicker out.

Combined with the fact they could appear in most parts of the city, it made finding the newcomers was both easy yet frustratingly difficult.

As the blips appear on your own radar function, it was also nice enough to calculate for you the best transport and destination routes to take to get there. Speed was of the essence, after all.

[FOR THOSE WHO JUST ARRIVED:]
You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

[OOC: As stated above, only new characters can start a thread, but feel free to jump in any of them. characters arrive with their clothing and whatever items they had on them the moment they were taken; the remaining items will be later found in their apartments.]

"You should. It is a useful tool if your demons are defeated," Yamato said, always holding a utilitarian view. "But that can be achieved at a later date. Have you collected your identification card yet?"

'Useful tool' was typical of him to use... and honestly it seemed like something of an understatement to Io, for whatever reason.

"I didn't know I would need one until just now, so no."

Yamato wasn't particularly in the mood to babysit Nitta. He was neutral towards her, neither liking or disliking her, but that didn't mean he would enjoy dragging her about Hinoto-Ri to get her 'settled'. He didn't have the patience (or the people skills) to achieve that.

He was prepared to put a little effort in. No doubt Shijima and Kaito would squawk at him if he abandoned her. That was a headache he'd wish to avoid at all costs.

"...very well. I will take you to city hall to collected your card. You may explore by yourself after that."

Fortunately, Io could easily be said to be able to look after herself. It was nice having this little start, but ever since she had decided to side with Daichi on that Friday night, she had known her life was in her hands and hers alone unless she entrusted it to someone else.

"All right, thank you. Lead the way, please."

Yamato strode off without a backwards glance, expecting Io to keep up with his long strides.

"Just so that you are aware, Kaito, Shijima, and Alcor are here as well. If you have any questions about this world, I'm sure they'll be happy to answer them for you."

Meaning: only bother Yamato if you absolutely have to. What a grouch.
operationbox: (wait back up a little bit)

What the - how is that possible?, she thought, but decided asking Alcor himself later would probably be best. For now she focused on keeping pace with Yamato.

"All right", she said, simply. After what happened she could understand him not wanting to be bothered...

Yamato glanced at Io from the corner of his eye, his eyebrows furrowing slightly. "...also, there is no need to be concerned over lodgings. When you get your ID card, they'll give you your room location."

That is indeed one less thing to worry about. Except maybe room quality but that remained to be seen. Best not to ask.

Yamato fell quiet when Io said nothing more, and the rest of the walk was more than a little on the awkward side. He seemed unaffected by it, and after a while they finally reached city hall. He stopped before it, turning to Io sharply.

"You just enter here and explain your situation. I'm sure you're more than capable of doing that without my assistance?"
operationbox: (no trouble)

[personal profile] operationbox 2013-01-08 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
"Of course."

And then she walked in and got her ID card and everything without much trouble.
