destinystrings | The Search for the Newcomers, December 2012 Edition.

Who: Open to Everyone, but only Newly Accepted Characters can start threads.
Where: All around the city! They appear where you want them to appear.
Summary: Newcomers arrive and by now the Government is more ready and sends everyone out to go people hunting.
Warnings: ARRIVALS. Also assume the first thread is the ones who tell you about the city, and the other tags for the character can be talking with others in the city and learning more about it.

[FOR THOSE IN THE CITY:]
They were getting much better at this, it was for certain.

Last month's initial testing of the HORUS system had worked really well. The device which allowed everyone to spot abnormalities; and now even more refined, they could hone in on newcomers at a much faster pace. The leftover energy from the travel (commonly called Magatama Residue) gave them a few minutes to find them before it would flicker out.

Combined with the fact they could appear in most parts of the city, it made finding the newcomers was both easy yet frustratingly difficult.

As the blips appear on your own radar function, it was also nice enough to calculate for you the best transport and destination routes to take to get there. Speed was of the essence, after all.

[FOR THOSE WHO JUST ARRIVED:]
You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

[OOC: As stated above, only new characters can start a thread, but feel free to jump in any of them. characters arrive with their clothing and whatever items they had on them the moment they were taken; the remaining items will be later found in their apartments.]

[The combination of a familiar voice and a touch on her shoulder sends her turning around to face him, smile on her face. A touch of confusion crosses her expression as she notices his hair, though-- much shorter than the shaggy cut she last remembered him having. He probably finally got sick of the sheep look and had someone chop it down since she was last awake or something, heh. The signs did point to her probably having been in the pod for a while, anyways. It was actually quite a flattering cut, she approved.]

Whoa, Riku! I can't believe you cut your hair!

[Well, it's definitely her. There's a smile spreading over his face as he looks over her, though it may or may not start to mix with worry - the hair, the cloths, that black band around her neck... she looks quite a bit different than he is used to.

Though he scowls shortly when she mentions his hair (who do you think may have talked him into this in first place anyways?), then shakes his head and raises an eyebrow, looking maybe kind of amused.]

...And I can't believe that's the first thing you've got to say to me.

[Because seriously. They are in a large city like Hinoto-Ri, run into each other by coincidence and the first thing she can think to comment on his hair? Seriously?]

Oh, right. Sorry.

[She looks a little sheepish, and she rubs at the back of her head with a small chuckle. Silly her, she didn't even know how long she'd been gone yet, they must've all been worried sick...]

How long has it been?

[What she thinks she's asking is how long has it been since she got stuck in the pods, but of course she isn't really in Facility, now is she?]

[He grins at her, clearly teasing - he is really happy to see her again, no matter how she looks or what kind of timeline she is from.

He blinks at her question, not entirely sure what she is asking about, but... in this kind of world time really didn't mean all too much.

Well then... better cover all his bases.]

Two months since I wound up here, about the same since I brought you to Master Yen Sid, a bit longer than that since Sora and I were called there ourselves, and... eight months since we defeated Xemnas?

[Take your pick???]

[Haha yup don't mind her face of confusion here. She recognizes the being called to Master Yen Sid bit, and of course the defeated Xemnas bit, but the 'being brought to Yen Sid' bit and the part where he said it had only been two months since he arrived was... disconcerting and confusing.]

Riku, does 'Facility' ring any bells?

[He frowns for just a second, but then shakes his head with a look of understanding in his eyes.]

It doesn't. ...But I suppose you've never of a place called 'Promenade' either... right?

No, sorry...

[She wrings her hands a little, expression confused and unnerved. Riku didn't know what the Facility was, he looked older, seemed to be farther along their main world timeline than she last knew him to be, talked about some place called 'Promenade'...
Kairi's mind wanders back to the weird dream she had had before waking up, with the butterflies and the man who told her she was chosen to save the city. That wasn't really Val's style; broadcasting their dreams for other to gawk at or horrible nightmares was, but not something like that. Slowly but surely, she could feel facts slowly clicking into place in her head as she pondered over the situation, leading her to a rather startling conclusion.]

Is this really a whole new world? There's... there's no Consortium either?

[She could feel herself shaking, an overwhelming sensation washing over her. There was no way she could have gotten out, could she?]

[Taking a step forward he reaches up to place his hand gently on her shoulder - the expression on her face, the way she is shaking... it all worries him a lot, almost makes him want to ask just where she's been before she ended up here.

But that could wait until later.]

Not that I know. This world, this city... it's called Hinoto-Ri.

[She presses her hand against her forehead, eyes wide with surprise.]

I'm... I got out...?

[Kairi hadn't known that was even possible-- it shouldn't have been possible and had definitely never happened before as far as she knew. Yet here she was, in a whole new world that wasn't a Facility three illusion... No more Val. No more Consortium. No more experiments. Kairi had achieved the freedom that they had all wished for but figured wasn't possible, thanks to this city and the man in the butterfly mask who had called her forth.

She takes in a deep breath and straightens up, trying to compose herself properly as she smiles up at Riku. Shouldn't let him worry-- plus, this was thing to be happy about, not freak-out worthy.]

I'm sorry, It's just a kind of big surprise. I was stuck in another world before this one, and I didn't think I'd be able to leave any time soon.
