Summary: Anant and his Persona Dionysus throw a wine party! Mingle, have fun, and watch out for the drinks, some of them are spiked...

It began entirely by accident, really.

Anant had learned that one celebrated the turning of the New Year - a novel experience, really! A world that didn't stand still, that had the cycle of night and day, and the turning of the seasons; the thought of beginning time anew was something beautiful and magnificent to the deluded god. No wonder humans would celebrate such an event!

Dionysus had suggested that perhaps wine would be the best thing to toast the New Year with - and, of course, it would be best to celebrate it where the moon was high in the sky and the stars in view. Atmosphere was just as important! Their quest took them to the square in the Scorpio Ward, nicely fixed up from a past event (something about scorpions, they didn't pry). Anant, of course, brought their own table.

Dionysus supplied the wine, Anant pushed it upon those who were passing by at the time, and soon a crowd began to gather. It started small, but Anant's bubbly personality, delicious wine, and the lighthearted atmosphere drew more and more Hinoto-Ri natives to the scene, and eventually, some of the new arrivals. By the time the clock struck midnight, on the New Years, a large impromptu party had taken over the square!

The free alcohol was possibly the cause of it, but so long as everyone was happy and having fun, why should Anant object to such a thing! To observe such a large congregation of people together - it was magical! Fantastical!

Devious.

It was just past half past twelve in the morning when the 'effect's began appearing. But what did one expect, accepting alcohol from the God of Lunacy? With the moon so high on the sky, washing down on the people below, on such a jovial occasion, how couldn't Dionysus splash a bit of mischief in there?

So have fun, my fellow inhabitants. This night will surely be memorable...

Uncharacteristically, Gale is smiling tonight. After all, why not? This drink was blood-coloured and delicious, the people were great, the moon was beautiful, he felt great and not at all bothered by the cold! Beware hugs from the cannibal.

Uh oh. Did he find the ~~demon~~ vaguely angel-looking blue person sitting over there on the bench drawing in his sketchbook?

He sure did. "What are you doing?" he asks, perhaps getting a liiittle too close.

"Drawing," he said, lowering his wings a little, hugging himself with them around his biceps. He leaned away from Gale a little, turning as he did, to give the green-haired--

Green hair? Hm, maybe he dyed it?

--man a better view of the large book he had on his lap. He'd been drawing with a pencil in it, pictures of the various people at the party here, it looked like. And he was good at it, too; he'd been practicing just about forever. Well, all right, not forever, but he'd lost count of how many centuries, off the top of his head.

"I take it you're enjoying the party?" It was a question that basically answered itself, but an easy one to ask. Especially when he was uneasy about so many people with so much alcohol.

"I am strangely happy. I suppose this means I am enjoying the party." He looked down at the sketchbook.

"You are very good. Why do you draw?"

"Right now? Merely because I felt like doing so. ...And because I... rather don't feel like getting involved in the party directly." He smiled a little, sheepishly. "I've never been quite as social as some, I suppose.

"But ah... do you like to draw as well?"

"No," he admitted. "In fact, I never knew anyone who was into... arts before coming here."

"None?" That got a look of surprise from him. "Not anyone, in the least? Who makes up the plans for your buildings' construction to follow, then?" Blueprints, right. Someone had to draw those, surely?

~~Oh, if only he knew about the Junkyard; he might get it. Strange as that place was, there were a few similarities between it and Nosgoth.~~

The buildings... *he frowned.* They were already there when we arrived.

"Oh...." He's not sure what to make of this now. "What about... where you were before you arrived there?"

*His frown only deepens.* I was nowhere before there...

"You were... nowhere? What do you mean?" You lost him, Gale.

"I was always there. There never was an 'elsewhere'."

"Whoa!" Not that he minded getting hugged from.....whoever...this was.

"Friendly guy, aren't ya?"

That was some great smelling food right here, yes—er. Better put this one back down on his feet. "I feel elated. I do not comprehend why."

"Well, it's a party. Maybe it's the atmosphere."

"I am not usually one to be influenced such..." He looked down at his glass of wine. Could it be...?

"Might as well enjoy it while it lasts. So, where are you from?"

Gale was torn from his wondering whether or not he was a happy drunk by the question. "I come from the Junkyard. Unfortunately, I think it has been annihilated." That seemed to drag him down for a moment.

"Aww, that kinda sucks! Was it...literally a junkyard, though?"

Weird name for a place, huh?

It is weird, but then again... "It was desolate and covered in strange ruins. Nothing grew there, but then again, we were locked in a civil war since as far as I can remember and the constant rain would have drowned any wild plant."

Wait... how far could he remember, anyway?

"...Weird. I've never heard of places like that. So you fought even when you were a kid?"

Wait til he hears about the whole Kid Thing...

"A kid is the offspring of a goat. I am not one." Make sense will you sir.

"...And it's also a slang term for "child"."

Huh. Gale appears to think for a second or two.
