WINE PARTY EVENT
Who: EVERYONE IN HINOTO-RI
Where: The Square in Scorpio Ward
When: Begins 00:00 New Years!
Summary: Anant and his Persona Dionysus throw a wine party! Mingle, have fun, and watch out for the drinks, some of them are spiked...
Warnings: Alcohol, so expect some silliness in this log. All of the silliness.
It began entirely by accident, really.
Anant had learned that one celebrated the turning of the New Year - a novel experience, really! A world that didn't stand still, that had the cycle of night and day, and the turning of the seasons; the thought of beginning time anew was something beautiful and magnificent to the deluded god. No wonder humans would celebrate such an event!
Dionysus had suggested that perhaps wine would be the best thing to toast the New Year with - and, of course, it would be best to celebrate it where the moon was high in the sky and the stars in view. Atmosphere was just as important! Their quest took them to the square in the Scorpio Ward, nicely fixed up from a past event (something about scorpions, they didn't pry). Anant, of course, brought their own table.
Dionysus supplied the wine, Anant pushed it upon those who were passing by at the time, and soon a crowd began to gather. It started small, but Anant's bubbly personality, delicious wine, and the lighthearted atmosphere drew more and more Hinoto-Ri natives to the scene, and eventually, some of the new arrivals. By the time the clock struck midnight, on the New Years, a large impromptu party had taken over the square!
The free alcohol was possibly the cause of it, but so long as everyone was happy and having fun, why should Anant object to such a thing! To observe such a large congregation of people together - it was magical! Fantastical!
Devious.
It was just past half past twelve in the morning when the 'effect's began appearing. But what did one expect, accepting alcohol from the God of Lunacy? With the moon so high on the sky, washing down on the people below, on such a jovial occasion, how couldn't Dionysus splash a bit of mischief in there?
So have fun, my fellow inhabitants. This night will surely be memorable...
[OOC: Sorry for the tl;dr! Alrighty, so everyone can mingle and do as they please in the comments! You do not have to know Anant to log in - you don't even have to interact with them! Just do your own thing and have fun!

HAPPY NEW YEARS!]
Pretty much! Ho ho ho~
Anant rubbed the bottom of their mask in thought. "Hmm... oh, yes, something good may happen as well..."
Well, AWESOMENESS should not be apologized for! So there. XD ♥
Avitus looked at the cup, debating on whether he wanted to pretend to drink it, to satisfy Anant, whether he could do so well enough to satisfy even the drunken host, or whether he should even try.
Wait-- wait, idea! Hopefully this would distract the drunken host....
"Oh, wait... wait, I was going to draw you first!" He quickly found a spot on the bench to set the glass down, and opened the book back up, finding one of the next blank pages. "You keep moving, so I haven't been able to!"
Smile smile! -- isn't this a great idea? Someone wants to draw you, god-person!
♥ Thank you! I'm enjoying your character as well!
Anant hunkered down, stilling as well as their excitable nature allowed, practically brimming with joy - and totally forgetting about the wine as well. Well done Avitus. That was some quick thinking there.
Thanks. And you're making my stomach hurt from laughing so much already. XD ILU! ♥
Fortunately for him, this was one of those times!
Relieved, he moved his wings a bit, unfolding them a few feet, to give the feathers a little floofing shiver, to re-settle them. He folded them back up behind him again as he adjusted how he sat there on the back of the bench, turning the book back to the angle he wanted it at on his knee.
Sketch, sketch, sketch... The pencil moved quickly, a whole lot of light little strokes at first, its lead making some very light little sounds against the paper as it did. Avitus kept glancing back and forth, between Anant and the paper, checking to make sure he was getting right whatever it was he was working on. The curve of the mask, the way the locks of Anant's somewhat wild hair stuck up around it, fluffed a bit by the recent bouncing. Their shoulders' curve, the collar of the sweater, the coat that wasn't quite being worn....
Sketch sketch sketch... And the darker shading, leading up to the edges, too. He reached into the folds of his robe, there on his lap, where his little roll of paper for smudging had caught, and took to using that, blending and smearing the graphite across the off-white page, softening it, bringing it a better sense of depth. More sketching, to renew the texture in the hair and add more details... more smudging, and sketching again, working quickly. By the time he was done, just a few minutes after having begun, it was unmistakably Anant's image on the page, eyes somewhat visible in what was likely a smile, through the mask's eye-holes.
"...there."
He leaned closer to the book, to peek into the binding as he carefully pulled on the page. With a few faint ripping sounds, the strings were pulled through their holes, leaving just a couple little trails through the edge of the page, at its fold. He turned it over and held it up.
"What do you think?"
Sorry for the late reply! My tagging motivation dropped the past few days herp
"I..." they began, leaning back to straighten up. "...love it!" They crowed. "It looks so- so wonderful! You are a brilliant artist! Oh, oh let me draw you in return!" Anant gushed. "It's only fair!"
No worries! Good things are worth waiting for. :)
Oh, what was the worst that could happen?
...he stopped himself before he could answer his own question, and carefully turned the book around, to pass it over, so that the other could simply draw on the next blank page, and offered over the pencil as well.
"Go ahead!" He made himself relax, putting his wings up behind his back again, and smiled a little, trying not to wonder what he was getting himself into this time. He was sure his mind would find a way to run away with that.
haha thanks!
Let's see...
Let's see...
Avitus will soon learn that Anant saw the world a bit differently than normal people. Briefly, the brunet mourned the fact that there were no coloured pencils to catch their new friend's likeliness, but they could deal.
"Da, da, da, tra, da, ha..." Anant began to sing, pressing the pencil against the paper and sketching with surprising rapidness. "Traa da, da, hahn, na, ra, da, da..."
After a few moments, Anant had their masterpiece.
It was Avitus, yes, but it seemed that Anant had also sketched some...other things. Indistinct shapes and shading that tried to mimic colour to the best of his ability.
"You are very vibrant," they said, turning the book around and holding it up to show off the picture. "Sorry I could not get the colours in there. I tried to get everything in, so I could only draw your body..."
♥ (also I am so sorry for this, but....)
He still recalled the time he'd painted his brother Richter... and the other then spent a month quietly obsessing on a small mole until he somehow got rid of it. It'd made him wonder what about his own appearance people noticed, though, and instilled a new bout of self-consciousness for a while, which he never quite managed to defeat.
But this... this seemed like a little more than spotting some out-of-place hair, or focusing on some feature or other, or even figuring out that he was wearing some makeup (ironically, to help hide that his natural coloration made him look like he was wearing makeup in the first place...)
No, this was starting to make him question Anant's perception. But at least it explained the comments about orange, perhaps?
"...what all have you had lately? Not just wine, right?" He's wondering if drugs besides alcohol are involved. Not that he'll say as much.
He'll keep that specific question to himself, don't worry.haha it ok, anant does act like he's high
"I have had biscuits, chocolate cake, tuna sandwich, housin duck rolls, honey and vanilla yoghurt, and peaches," they dutifully listed, finally lifting their head up to stare at Avitus. "Peaches are my favourite, so I have them everyday, as the very last thing."
It was more the drawing making him wonder. :)
But some of those things, he hadn't even heard of.
"What're peaches?"
This was just asking for it, wasn't it.
argh sorry DW ate the notif!
"What are...what are peaches? Where did you live, to not have them? Even my world had them, and it is a desolate wasteland! What are peaches?? We must go!"
Anant abruptly jumped off of the bench, seemingly wound up into a state over the ignorance of their favourite fruit.
"We are going to get peaches!"
lol, it happens. :)
Well, this wasn't what Avitus had had in mind either. Now he was going to get dragged off somewhere else by someone he suspected had been getting into a bit more than simple alcohol. And what if these peaches were what was causing Anant to see wild colors everywhere, and perhaps more?
On the other hand, he really wasn't finding Anant to be all that imposing a figure, and he might find another new flavor that could be to his liking. That is, on top of all the other ones he'd discovered here, like chocolate.
...But he was a vampire, and he thus he was fairly immune to so many things. Perhaps not drunkenness, no, but on the other hand, he'd never caught an illness, not like humans did, in all the years he'd been a vampire. And he remembered one of his brothers, the doctor, complaining about their apparent immunity to so many drugs....
(there, done.)
He took a breath, sighing, and very carefully tucked his big tome of a sketchbook, plus his pencil and the tightly-wrapped stump of paper he'd been smudging with, into the tote bag he'd been hiding under his cloak, and stood up as well.
"All right... but before we do, I have to warn you, I can't have human foods. Not if it's solid. It's just... part of what I am."
It was surely best that he be upfront about that. If Anant didn't know enough about his clan to call him on the "allergic to parties" fib, then he wouldn't know about that peculiarity either -- and Avitus didn't want to risk either getting sick for the sake of trying a new flavor, by ingesting something that was too firm, or disappointing the enthusiastic, if drunken, host once they'd worked themselves up about him trying something.

Suddenly, it didn't seem like something to be so wary of. He re-settled his wings behind his back again, smiling a bit.
"Juice normally suits me quite well, actually."
Lead on, Anant!
no subject
And with that Anant eagerly prances off - and that is meant literally. Their steps are light and quick, and despite their obvious drunkness, they were surprisingly graceful and steady, narrowly avoiding other partygoers as they made their way around the square-
To one of the tables holding the large collection of wine glasses.
Anant stopped by the table, and placed the cup onto it before bending down and lifting the white (horrible colour choice) tablecloth and stick their head under it. Yup, have a sight of Anant butt wriggling about.

He'd just... be standing a little ways away, so he didn't crowd the host while they dug out this new-flavored juice for him, chewing the inside of his lip a little as he waited.
no subject
Anant banged their head on the underside of the table in their haste to get up, but it didn't seem to make them pause. Instead Anant shuffled back before sitting up again, clutching a plastic bottle of peach juice.
"I have procured it! Here!"
Anant nimbly leapt to their feet and held out the plastic bottle towards Avitus.

He twisted the cap off, carefully, making sure he didn't spill anything as he brought it up to his face, giving it a little sniff before taking a sip. A pause-- and then another drink of it, longer this time, holding it in his mouth for a second before he swallowed.
"This is very good," he finally said, looking back to Anant with a smile. "I can see why you like it."
no subject
"Yes! It is the best taste in the world! I wish everything tasted like peaches, but alas, it does not... saying that, however, there are other nice tastes. Like chocolate. That is nice, or tinned beans."
no subject
He pulled himself away from those thoughts before his imagination went too wild with it, and opted for focusing instead on the part he did understand.
"I've had chocolate ice cream," he said, "and chocolate syrup. I rather wish we'd had that flavor back where I come from... but there's much here I'd say that about.
"Have you ever tried dandelion candies?"
no subject
Anant looked utterly blank with confusion, tilting their head this way and that. "Dande...lion? Is that a type of animal?"
no subject
He thought a second. "I might have some of those candies in my quarters, actually... I should check later.
"What of the different types of grapes? I haven't seen many here yet, but there were dozens of varieties in Nosgoth...."
