WINE PARTY EVENT

Summary: Anant and his Persona Dionysus throw a wine party! Mingle, have fun, and watch out for the drinks, some of them are spiked...
Warnings: Alcohol, so expect some silliness in this log. All of the silliness.

It began entirely by accident, really.

Anant had learned that one celebrated the turning of the New Year - a novel experience, really! A world that didn't stand still, that had the cycle of night and day, and the turning of the seasons; the thought of beginning time anew was something beautiful and magnificent to the deluded god. No wonder humans would celebrate such an event!

Dionysus had suggested that perhaps wine would be the best thing to toast the New Year with - and, of course, it would be best to celebrate it where the moon was high in the sky and the stars in view. Atmosphere was just as important! Their quest took them to the square in the Scorpio Ward, nicely fixed up from a past event (something about scorpions, they didn't pry). Anant, of course, brought their own table.

Dionysus supplied the wine, Anant pushed it upon those who were passing by at the time, and soon a crowd began to gather. It started small, but Anant's bubbly personality, delicious wine, and the lighthearted atmosphere drew more and more Hinoto-Ri natives to the scene, and eventually, some of the new arrivals. By the time the clock struck midnight, on the New Years, a large impromptu party had taken over the square!

The free alcohol was possibly the cause of it, but so long as everyone was happy and having fun, why should Anant object to such a thing! To observe such a large congregation of people together - it was magical! Fantastical!

Devious.

It was just past half past twelve in the morning when the 'effect's began appearing. But what did one expect, accepting alcohol from the God of Lunacy? With the moon so high on the sky, washing down on the people below, on such a jovial occasion, how couldn't Dionysus splash a bit of mischief in there?

So have fun, my fellow inhabitants. This night will surely be memorable...

"Hey!" Link jumps up after him and starts chasing him. While he's wobbling too he's used to dealing with not performing at his best, so he catches up pretty quickly.

As Link approaches, Sora laughs in delight. He really is fast! It's so much more fun when it's a real challenge, instead of outstripping your opponent in seconds. Unless they're really annoying.

Sora tries to lose Link by twisting and turning through side streets and alleyways, laughing more as he sways and almost trips. Almost, but not quite; already he's learning to adjust his balance.

He's determined to keep pace, bounding after Sora. He's not as agile, but all of the exercise he got on his adventure is helpful. He uses a wall to get his balance back and pushes off, not sure where they're going but happy nonetheless.

That'd be two of them, since Sora hasn't been around long enough to explore the whole city, let alone memory the details of the layout.

Which means that after he scurries up and over a wall, he trips and falls on his face with an "oof". He only rolls over onto his back and laughs at his mistake.

Link tries to follow him, but can't find a handhold. So he runs around, finding a hole in the wall to follow Sora. He spots him on the ground and laughs.

"Are you okay?"

"Hahaha, yeah, yeah I'm just hunky-dory!"

Sora makes no move to get up, instead just blinking, trying to get a focus on Link. He swings up an arm to point at him.

"But! But, you couldn't get up the wall, huh? I wiiiiiiin~"

He pouts a little, but he's not really that angry about it. "I guess you do."

Laughing, Sora used a wall to haul himself back to his feet. Whew, he was feeling dizzy: all his limbs felt heavy, more difficult to move around. It was messing big time with his balance. But whatever, he was having fun, so who cares?

"Yeah, because I'm suuuuper great at jumping! Leap tall things in a single bound. Woosh!"

Sora gave a little hop, nowhere near his usual leaps. That would not be a good idea right now. Might hit his head or something, and he didn't know how good a game potion would work.

"You're pretty fun for a grownup!"

Link slid down and sat against the wall, starting to feel the alcohol bite back. "I'm... I'm not really an adult. I just look like one. I was asleep for seven years."

It was a little weird, admitting it, but with how floaty and vaguely babbly he felt, it was okay. Everything was okay.

Well if Link was gonna sit down, so was Sora. Easier that way. Whoo, didn't mean to flop down that quickly but whatever worked.

Wait, what?

"You're... really a kid? Woooah didn't think there'd be another!"

"... Another? You are, too?"

That's kind of a relief. He thought that he was the only one who had to get used to a new weird body that didn't move right.

At least Sora had months to get used to his. Still, he's so glad to know there was someone else with that weird situation. Sora grinned and leaned over to hug Link.

"Yaaaaay! I'm gonna pretend to be a grownup still, so it's a secret, kay? I'm gonna be eleven in May!"

Yeah not gonna let go just yet.

Link blinked a little in surprise, but then leaned into the hug. Yay.

"Okay. Most people don't know for me either, just the Princess and Big Bro. Who's not actually my big bro but he's another me that I think is from a different world and he's older. So he's Big Bro."

Blink blink. Oh right that whole different worlds junk. That was still a thing that was happening.

"...You know a princess? Like a real one?"

It was indeed a thing that was still happening.

"Yeah. Princess Zelda. She's really nice."

"Woah... there aren't a lot of princesses where I come from. It's like a story book!"

Congrats Link, Sora thinks you're one of the coolest people he's ever met. Because it's like a game or story or something and that is just amazing to know about, even secondhand.

"Well, she's the only one I know of..."

Places beyond Hyrule? What're those?

Sora slumped back against the cool brick, head tilted back. Huh, he could see the stars clearer than back home. Maybe because there was less urban sprawl, less light?

"Where're you from then? Princesses are rare on my world."

Link followed his gaze, frowning at the strange patterns of stars here. They were dim, too. Too many lights.

"I'm from Hyrule. I grew up in Kokiri Forest."

"Woah, a forest. I live in a city called Tokyo, in Japan."

It's nice being able to talk to another kid without having to worry about stupid things like respect and conde... condes... being looked down on just because of that. That's why he loved being online, because he was strong and people listened to him and only were jerks because Sora was mean first and not because of what he was.

"I live with my mom and dad but don't have any siblings."

He tilted his head, looking a little lost. "I don't have a mom or dad. My mother left me with the Great Deku Tree when I was a baby before she died. I guess the Kokiri were kind of like my siblings, but they never grow up."

...Okay that's going way over his head. Sora is not sober enough for this.

"The what? So they're like... kids forever?"

Not sure if that is awesome or scary. 50/50 maybe.

"Yeah, exactly."

He never really thought about it being weird, it just was what it was.

Sora's trying to sort through his thoughts, because the idea is just. Really big, somehow. Still, he'll try to vocalize it.

"Do you want to grow up?"

"I... don't know. I had to... Rauru thought that I couldn't wield the Master Sword until I was older. That's why I was put to sleep for so long."

He didn't have a lot of choice about growing up. Being a hero kind of sucks.
