Summary: Those with experience regarding demons, or are demonic themselves (or perhaps just weird), being called in to allow themselves to be prodded and poked and examined.
Warnings: You'll have to suffer from Yamato and Ideo's tender mercies.

After being subjected to the curtness of the Sagittarius Labs's chou-keshin receptionist, all those that have come to their assigned appointments will find themselves shuffled into a bland looking room, with uncomfortable stiff-backed seats and glossy out of date magazines on the small coffee table. There will also be that annoying clock that ticks just a bit too loudly and slowly for one's tastes, and that heavy silence that makes you whisper when you talk to people, even though there's no reason to.

Welcome to the Waiting Room.

After waiting for a few moments (or hours, depending on how early you came, and how delayed Ideo Hazama and Yamato Hotsuin were), you will be called in by Ceu to meet with one of the young geniuses. Prepare to be poked and prodded my friends, this is what you signed up for.

[OOC: Okay so basically we decided to do a catch all examination log, for those that are interested (as I know a few are). Me and Gaa split it up between us as well, so it's easier on us, and we can share the burden of tags. Who you will get is entirely random.

Again, only those that have experience with demons/are demonic themselves/or otherwise magical in some way can take part in this log. This is for SCIENCE]

Otoha came on the late side, as his sleep schedule called for being awake at night unless he really had to otherwise. It wasn't like his experience with demons was really in-depth. Most of what he had dealt with were the mikura, which were... different.

When he was directed to the room, he looked around it and started pacing. It felt like a doctor's office, and he absolutely hated those. The rare times when he had to be in one there was always poking and prodding and remarking on his 'condition'. So Otoha paced, backwards and forwards, looking a bit like a trapped animal as he waited.

Shura arrived early for her morning appointment, freshly showered after her morning run and with freshly clean clothes to boot: long jeans, a black long sleeved T-shirt and her winter hoodie. If she was gonna meet some admirers, she might as well look her best, no?

For now though, she sat in the waiting room, looking at her running shoes while pondering means of shutting up the clock.

Naoya arrived early, his COMP in his pocket and a few pages of notes tucked in with them. He waited calmly in the room, torn between amusement and boredom. Honestly., they should have called him sooner. If they were looking for information on demons... well. Though he didn't know everyone in the city, he seriously doubted that there were many with the same kind of experience as him.

The demons here seemed to be very similar to the ones in his world. It was fascinating, really. Perhaps they were from the same demonic world. Maybe it was through this shared world that some of them were able to be drawn.

He sat back, theorizing while he waited for lack of anything better to do.

After an uncomfortable, indeterminable time (the clock in the waiting room was always thought to be broken, honestly, with how slow it went), the door to the room opened and there was Ceu, her expression as cold as usual.

"Mister Otoha? Come with me."

She lead Otoha out of the stifling waiting room, and through a few gloomy corridors down to the lower labs below. The interior is very grim, very drab, and of course standing in the middle of the room with their back to them was Yamato Hotsuin. For once he wasn't wearing his heavy coat, and in fact had a white lab coat on. Judging by the slight movements of his shoulder, and the sound of something scratching over paper, he was writing a clipboard.

"Thank you, Ceu," Yamato said suddenly, turning around to face Otoha. Without a word, the Pixie left, and Yamato studied the other man with a critical look, clipboard tucked between his hip and forearm.

"Yosuke Otoha, yes?"

Otoha looked a bit relieved as Ceu came and got him. The drab interior didn't bother him very much. He'd seen worse, honestly. The strange lab though... it was a bit disturbing. The age of the boy surprised him a bit too, but... well. Different worlds. Whatever. He tucked his hands into the pockets of his trenchcoat as he was addressed.

... The kid could do with looking less severe, though.

"Yeah. That's me."

Thankfully, she didn't have long to contemplate clock-murder, as the door opened after only a few minutes to reveal Ceu. Greetings given to the Demi-Fiend, the fairy will lead Hitoshura out of the waiting rooms, and down to the lower labs, where Yamato Hotsuin was waiting for them.

"Shura," Yamato greeted as Ceu left, smiling a little as he slipped a hand into his lab coat's pocket, shifting his weight to rest more on one leg. "You're actually wearing clothes that cover skin. I'm surprised."

Yamato gave a small sniff, as if he found something lacking, but otherwise seemed apathetic regarding Otoha. He walked towards him, pausing just a few feet away from him as he gave the man a closer look of scrutiny.

"We have several people that we're examining today," Yamato said after a pause, lifting his clipboard up and looking down at scribbles. Yamato had neat handwriting, but everything seemed to be written in extreme shorthand - or a weird code. 'O* sg sep/b?'

"Care to tell us what it is that you're offering us?" They had the gist of it written down, but best to have it confirmed from the subject itself, right?

Shura waved goodbye to Ceu, then snickered. "What can I say, it's actually cold out today when I'm not running. And you're making it sound like I walk around naked."

Yamato suddenly adopted a flat expression, blinking at her innocently. "You mean you don't? Ah, my view of you has been shaken..." he murmured, lifting his hand out of his pocket to flick a lock of hair back.

"But enough of that," he said, suddenly all seriousness as he lifted his clipboard in his other hand, looking down at it ('hsdf m~ tat spc.') with a hum. "Let's get down to business, shall we? Please strip naked."

He tensed as his personal space was getting close to invaded. He forced himself to calm down and shrugged slightly.

"You asked for people who have experience with demons. I do, though not too much yet. One of my responsibilities at home is to keep the humans and the demons from killing each other, and taking care of sick demons."

This time, Shura burst out laughing. "Maybe I should have come naked. It would have saved us time!"

Nonetheless, she did as asked, stripping completely and hanging her clothes on a hook on the wall. She then stood before Yamato, one hand in front of her crotch failing at hiding the fact that yes, her markings reached that far.

Yamato ignored the tension in the other man, turning and walking away a few paces. "Taking care of sick demons? Interesting."

Although his words were flat and sounding decidedly uninterested, he was scribbling a lot on his clipboard. Seemed his attention was snagged for now. "What type of demons existed in your world? Were there any similar to what you have seen in Hinoto-Ri? If there are differences you may have to fill out forms describing the species of demons from your own world."

Especially as monsters from the other worlds were beginning to appear here. It would be nice to have the information on hand in case they cropped up here. Easier to manage.

Yamato just glanced at her hand and let out a low snort. "There is no need to be shy," he said, his tone mildly teasing, "Honestly - sit here."

He moved over to a large work table set up against the wall, out of the way of the main ritual area. It was a bit cold looking, and of hard metal, and Yamato tapped the edge of it with his clipboard pointedly. "Come on. Up."

Shura couldn't help it. She knew Yamato had no interest in her, and was probably too professional to laugh, but she still had a bit of a complex about these markings covering even her sex. Still, she made her way to the table and hopped seated onto it, waiting. This was more like a medical examination now, and it was reassuring.

"I hope there won't be too many needles involved."

"The ones I know by name were Amefurikozo, Kappa, Wanyudou, Tsuchigumo, Kamaitachi, Ushi-Oni, and Nue. All but the last one were mikura, which are demons that have been changed with machinery. I think they were an invention of the last person with my job, though I have no idea. There were a lot of other demons too, though. Some of them were animal-based, but a lot of them were stranger. I didn't have a lot of time with them."

If his yurine were here she would be able to help... but he'd only had the role of Karas for a few weeks at the most.

"I will be interested in taking a blood sample from you," Yamato said. "But that can be done after the superficial examinations."

He set the clipboard down on the table beside Shura (she can peek, it's just full of nonsense letters crammed together), and leaned over to pull out a drawer. Rummage rummage - oh, it sounded a bit metallic, what, was he taking out some kind of torture device?

Oh, no. Just a stethoscope and blood pressure metre.

"A bit dull, I know, but we have to collect very basic data. You will even need to take a urine test - ah, if you can still urinate after your transformation into your semi-demonic state."

Nue? Hm, so that existed in his world...

Yamato turned back to Otoha, his pen stilling as he gazed at the man with open interest now. "Machinery? Elaborate on that."

"A blood sample ain't so bad." Shura doubted Yamato intended to take all her blood.

As Yamato rummaged, she looked at the door. She could hear the high-pitched giggling and chattering of fairies behind in, and it made her smile. It was good to have fans.

Yamato speaking up brought her attention back to him, and she nodded. "I still go to the bathroom, yeah."

Explaining stuff was definitely not his strong point. He looked thoughtful for a moment, trying to decide how to explain.

"I don't know how he did it, but Eko merged some of the demons loyal to him with machinery. Somehow it let them show up in the human world instead of being usually invisible like most demons are. They could change between human and demon forms - well. Most of them. Kamaitachi didn't. They could also change into other things, too - Wanyudou changed into a car."

... Then again, he did too. So yeah. There's that.

"Then a urine sample will be taken later," Yamato said, wrapping the curr around Shura's arm, and placing the stethoscope into his ears to hear her pulse. He looked at the dial as he started squeezing the pump, tightening the cuff to a somewhat discomforting level as he waited - and then released the cuff, listening to the pulse when it did.

"...a bit slow," Yamato noted, taking out the stethoscope and unwrapping the cuff. "Of course, as the Magatama rebuilt your body for maximum efficiency, it's unsurprising that your blood pressure is low. Do you get dizzy spells?"

Yamato stared at him.

"...I see," he said after a pause, obviously sceptical, but willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for now. He had seen truly strange beings in Hinoto-Ri, so for all he knew, it was possible. Hell, there was a living star floating about.

"How fascinating, if it's true..." Sure, in his world, the spiritual and the digital were beginning to mesh, with the Demon Summoning App, and the towers being used to project the Dragon Stream Barriers, but they had been nowhere near the levels of merging demons with machinery - at least, not to the point of one shapeshifting into a car.

"What changes did that bring to the demons in question? Did it affect their sanity? Boosted or lowered intelligence?"

"It's true. I'd show you my own transformations, but without my yurine I can't do them. But as for their sanity... I didn't know them before. Nue was pretty sane, but the rest of them were definitely not. I have no idea if that's because of them naturally, the machinery, or being the sort of creatures who would go along with Eko's plans."

Basically, he has no fucking clue.

Shura nodded and let Yamato do his thing. Man, she didn't remember the cuff of these things could squeeze so much. She was sure she felt her heartbeat in the cuff.

"I don't," she answered. "In fact, I feel perfectly fine."

"Then you simply have an athlete's heart," Yamato said, putting away the blood pressure metre, and just had an acoustic stethoscope. "Speaking of, I'll listen to it now."

If Yamato felt awkward in listening to Shura's heart by pressing the cold diaphragm against her chest, just under her breast, he didn't show it. In fact he just looked thoroughly bored, listening to her heartbeat.

"Breathe in and hold your breath."

"I wouldn't be surprised. I was a tracks champion before becoming a demon." With that said, she took a deep breath and held it in.
