What: Aftermath of Anoli Attack: Hospital
Where: Leo Ward - Caduceus Hospital Headquarters
Summary: It is the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies. The injured have been taken to Caduceus Hospital Headquarters, and it is time for reflection, visting, or old-fashioned escapes from the hospital rooms.
Warnings: Mild squick if people want to describe their wounds in explicit detail.

Caduceus Hospital Headquarters. It has a distinguished history within Hinoto-Ri, boasting of a staff of well-trained Healers, as well as possessing the most cutting edge medical technology possible. There was no limb they couldn't reattach, no organ they couldn't replace... - they even claimed to be able to bring someone back from the dead (with the small disclaimer that it could only occur under certain conditions and with an obscene amount of luck).

So needless to say, the hospital was more than well-equipped to deal with the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies.

Nearly every hospital bed had been filled by an injured patient that night. The A&E room had been in constant chaos, with civilians crying and shouting, searching for loved ones, or demanding to see doctors or healers to help so-and-so...

There had also been plenty of reporters milling about, shouting and crying over the status of the Mayor's Secretary, and whether the Red Lion had really died at the scene, or if he was still alive and well within the safety of the hospital's ICU.

By the time morning broke, there was a false sense of tranquillity within the hospital. The healers had been pushed to their limits with the sheer number of patients being wheeled in and out of surgery, but otherwise, the situation had finally gotten under control. Now, both civilians and visitors were merely waiting for word of the conditions of their injured friends and family...

[Welcome to the winding down of the event! You are now at the hospital, where you may be visiting the injured, or be one of the injured yourself! Those with RED injuries will be in the ICU, and those with YELLOW injures will be in normal wards, for obvious reasons. Those with GREEN injuries wouldn't have had to go to the hospital at all, so they are free to come and go as they wish!

She made it out of the battle in pretty rough shape. Given the circumstances, however, she considered herself lucky to have only gotten the type of injuries she did. Her arm had suffered the most damage, requiring surgery to remove the bullet that had lodged into her forearm. It was wrapped up the most with thick bandages and rested temporarily in a cloth sling. The cut she'd suffered across her face was the most noticeable and she felt ridiculous with the bandage covering it. The rest of her was bruised and scratched up too. Deep gashes from flying debris and throbbing aches where her Persona had been struck. Aches so painful she could hardly move. She would definitely be bed ridden for awhile, mostly due to soreness.

The long hospital gown covered most of her bruises and bandages body at any rate. Naoto had only recently regained conscious, forcing herself to sit upright to try and get her bearings. Her head throbbed painfully and her Persona was eerily quiet, which made her anxious.

But more than anything was was worried about her friends. She hoped Yosuke was all right. He had been in way worse shape than her. She had also heard Yu wasn't doing well either. She hadn't heard anything else about any of the others. Rise or Kanji... she hoped they were okay as well. As soon as she could she was going to go look for them.

It was to this point that the nurses really didn't care about what the priestess would do; she'd leave even without their consent so they just told her to stay out of the ICU and it'll be fine.

Whoops, broke that with Yu and Yosuke. No one was surprised. Finally she was able to find Naoto and peeked into her room.

"Naoto-kun?" she whispered, looking around. "Are you awake?"

Naoto pinched the bridge of her nose between her fingers, willing her body to stop hurting. She was in so much pain. The drugs must've worn off...

She glanced up at the familiar face and looked relieved. Her senpai appeared relatively unscathed.

"Yukiko-senpai, hello." She dropped her hand into her lap. "Yes. I've been awake for a little while."

Not really. If Naoto looked closely, she would notice Yukiko had some bandages around her arms and legs. More were hidden under her gown like the abdomen wound Spades gave her. She was just being a stubborn idiot and refused to rest.

"I'm just glad you're alright."

And by 'alright', she means 'alive'.

Hence the use of the word "relatively"...

"You as well. Do you know the condition of the others? I saw Yosuke-senpai get badly injured."

"Well, Rise-chan is alright and so is Teddie. I haven't been able to find Kanji-kun through all of this either."

There's one she left out and it was on purpose.

"I see."

She glanced away, frowning. That was worrisome. Maybe he went home before the chaos started. Or maybe during? She still isn't familiar with how that works here.

"If you find him, please let me know. I'm afraid I won't be able to do much for the next few days."

Teddie had made sure to go to the different rooms when he could and visit everyone. Naoto was no different!! Smiling, he came into the room with flowers that he got just for her!

"Nao-chan!!" Teddie said with a big smile, "I've come to see you!"

Well, he certainly surprised her. She had been told he was here but she hadn't actually gotten a chance to find him. Her eyes widen a bit.

"Teddie? Oh, um... thank you... I'm glad to see you're safe."

Well, that was everyone accounted for but Kanji.

"I'm beary happy to see Nao-chan safe!!" Teddie said with a grin, looking to the other with a big smile. Putting the flowers down on the bedside table, he looks to her.

"Everyone is beary sick, but Teddie is going to make sure everyone is comfortable!"

She glanced at the flowers and can't help but smile. Leave it to Teddie to make a bad situation a little more bearable. .... Oh.

"Thank you for the gift, Teddie. I'm sure the others appreciate you visiting them as well."

"I'm going to take care of everybear!" Teddie said cheerfully, practically sparkling in Naoto's general direction. Looking a little worried, though, his expression changed quickly.

"You're going to be okay, right?"

Good ole Teddie. Naoto smiled in a way she hoped was reassuring.

"Don't worry, Teddie. I'll be just fine. I just need to rest for awhile."

She'll get a visitor -- a blue demon bird-person with huge black feathered wings, who seemed somewhat preoccupied with preening one of them out with his hands, as he stepped in. Those odd hands of his came away with one of the ridiculously large feathers -- about eight or nine inches long, and about five wide, round and soft-looking -- which he ran through his fingers, making sure the barbs were locked properly, before he approached her bed, pausing as he realized she was very much up and awake.

"Oh...." A slight pause, and he tried giving her a little smile, his wings wrapping gently around himself in sort of a hug. Maybe he was a bit shy? "Hello."

Naoto had seen plenty of bizarre things by this point in her life but apparently there was always room for more. She definitely stared at the stranger, expression blank from shock at the sight.

"Oh, um... Hello," she replied after a moment of awkward silence. It would probably be rude to ask what he was, so... "You are...?"

"My name is Avitus," he said, giving her a little nod that seemed more a bow, somehow. "I was making rounds... there're a lot of people that were hurt, so I figured it wouldn't be out of line."

He held the big feather out to her in an offer. "Where I'm from, my clan is mostly of hunters, who protect the humans we live among... so the humans tend to keep these as good luck. I'm by no means a hunter, but with what all has happened recently...."

In other words, he's simply trying to cheer people up and offering ridiculously big feathers as presents.

She glanced at the proffered feather and then back at the stranger. She wasn't quite sure what to even say. This seemed like a tremendous honor of some kind with the way he described it. She hesitated for a moment before lifting her hand and taking the gift. She examined it, twirling it slowly between her fingers.

"I see... Well... thank you very much, Avitus-san. I greatly appreciate the sentiment."

"You're very welcome. Hopefully there'll be something more to it than superstition and sentimentality." His smile was a little... not quite sad, at that, but... it was hard to say. He knew it was wishful thinking, but that was no reason not to give those out, was it? Morale wasn't to be discounted!

He tilted his head a bit, thinking. "What does the san mean...?"

By the time she made it to Naoto's room, Rise was feeling pretty down. Three of her friends had gotten severely thrashed by those terrorists, including the guy she liked most and the girl she'd kind of appropriated as her best friend. Possibly without her noticing, Rise was still kind of unclear on that.

Regardless, she put on a small smile and went in to see Naoto. Same kind of state as Yosuke, but she looked a little better off, at least...

"Hey, Naoto-kun," she said, quietly. "How are you feeling?"

Seeing Rise made her relax a little. Despite being opposites she always felt Rise to be one of her closer friends on the Investigation Team. Or, at least, one of her friends she can be herself around.

"Hello. I'm all right," she replied in an equally soft voice. She sounded pretty tired. "Have you seen any of the others?"

"Yu-senpai and Yosuke-senpai are both in rooms here. They're...pretty bad off, but they'll get better," she said. "Yukiko and Teddie are both around. I haven't seen Kanji, but he's probably either making everyone get well presents or finding Anoli to tear in half."

Naoto lowered her gaze. "I heard about Yu-senpai... and I was with Yosuke-senpai when he was injured. I wasn't able to prevent it."

She feels pretty bad about it. She'd been trying to help him fight and instead she'd just gotten them both in worse trouble. She was worried about Kanji missing too though Rise does kind of reassure her.

"I wish I was well enough to visit them. Give them my regards if you visit."

If this was going to turn into a Yukiko-style pity party, Rise was tempted to leave right now...but there was no way Naoto could even know about that, so there was no reason to go on a rant about it again.

"It's not your job to 'prevent' stuff like this, Naoto-kun. We all protect each other, don't we?" she asked. "And everybody's going to be fine, so it turned out alright."

You know, this would have been a lot easier if it had been anyone BUT Naoto. It wasn't just the fact that this was in a hospital, it was the fact that...well, every damn thing! He'd always been a nervous bag of mixed emotions around her and adding a place he hated being in the first place only made him even worse.

Should he knock on the door? Just let himself in? Would she like that? Was he going to come as too annoying? Would she like what he made?

"Dammit! I need to stop that!" Woops, just said that allowed. Couldn't really back off now, right? Closing his hand on the bear, he finally walked into the room.

"uh....h-hey...."

Smooth.

She heard his shouting before she saw him, perking up a little as the door opened and he wandered in. She isn't really in a state to be seen, in her opinion, but that can't be helped. She was in the hospital and all.

"Kanji-kun, there you are," she sighed though she sounded relieved. "Yukiko-senpai told me she couldn't find you. I was worried something had happened."
