What: Aftermath of Anoli Attack: Hospital
Where: Leo Ward - Caduceus Hospital Headquarters
Summary: It is the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies. The injured have been taken to Caduceus Hospital Headquarters, and it is time for reflection, visting, or old-fashioned escapes from the hospital rooms.
Warnings: Mild squick if people want to describe their wounds in explicit detail.

Caduceus Hospital Headquarters. It has a distinguished history within Hinoto-Ri, boasting of a staff of well-trained Healers, as well as possessing the most cutting edge medical technology possible. There was no limb they couldn't reattach, no organ they couldn't replace... - they even claimed to be able to bring someone back from the dead (with the small disclaimer that it could only occur under certain conditions and with an obscene amount of luck).

So needless to say, the hospital was more than well-equipped to deal with the aftermath of the Anoli attack on the Closing Ceremonies.

Nearly every hospital bed had been filled by an injured patient that night. The A&E room had been in constant chaos, with civilians crying and shouting, searching for loved ones, or demanding to see doctors or healers to help so-and-so...

There had also been plenty of reporters milling about, shouting and crying over the status of the Mayor's Secretary, and whether the Red Lion had really died at the scene, or if he was still alive and well within the safety of the hospital's ICU.

By the time morning broke, there was a false sense of tranquillity within the hospital. The healers had been pushed to their limits with the sheer number of patients being wheeled in and out of surgery, but otherwise, the situation had finally gotten under control. Now, both civilians and visitors were merely waiting for word of the conditions of their injured friends and family...

[Welcome to the winding down of the event! You are now at the hospital, where you may be visiting the injured, or be one of the injured yourself! Those with RED injuries will be in the ICU, and those with YELLOW injures will be in normal wards, for obvious reasons. Those with GREEN injuries wouldn't have had to go to the hospital at all, so they are free to come and go as they wish!

Yosuke had been half asleep when she'd come in. The pain killers helped make everything feel hazy and numb, but it was still difficult to sleep with the way his body throbbed, and with a respirator hooked up to him... He also never did do all that well with IVs. And they had to hook it up to his only good arm, joy.

The sound of the door opening, however, and the sound of Yukiko's voice, was enough to stir him. He opens his eyes halfway, glancing up at her, trying to make out who it is. When he does realize who it is, his eyes open a little wider and he smiles. "Yukiko, how'd you get in here?"

The teen attempts to shift a little, to sit more upright, but that proves painful on the fresh stitches, so he gives up and just lets himself relax.

"Are you alright?"

She smiles back slightly and relieved that he decides to stay down. Yeah, not like her because most likely she will be feeling pain soon.

"I snuck in while the nurses went off. Those fans are really something." she replies as she holds her abdomen slightly. It may have been non lethal but that knife hurt like a bitch.

"I'll be ok. What I got is nothing compared to everyone else."

Which is true: him, Naoto-kun, and Yu were all still in bed.

"How's everyone else doing? I'm really worried about Naoto, she took a goddamn bullet for me..." Ugh, he was still so upset that he hadn't been paying attention and that she'd stepped in without him realizing... she almost got killed by that one spades guy.

He's actually really, really surprised that they both got out alive...

"I wish I could get out of this bed and see her myself, ugh..."

In frustration, Yosuke pounds his fist on the bed beside him and winces.

"The last I heard she was still in bed-" Yukiko starts to explain but seeing Yosuke do that certain move...her first thought is how stupid of him to do it. Of course it's frustration but honestly, hurting himself isn't going to help and the girl who stood next to his bed will only get worried more.

"You need to rest up. I'm sure that's what Naoto-kun would say too."

She paused for a moment.

"I haven't seen Kanji-kun in any of the rooms so he could be safe. Rise-chan and Teddie are alright as well."

If he could tell without being doped up by the drugs, she was avoiding something.

"She nearly got killed because of me... That damn Spades guy had a knife to her throat, if I didn't drop my weapons he would've killed her... Ugh it's all my fault that he got on her like that in the first place, I shouldn't have charged in like that..."

Yosuke rubs his eyes in irritation, tugging a little at the IV in his wrist, which was uncomfortable but he could honestly care less right now.

"What about Yu?" He wasn't letting her get away without telling him about his best bro's status. "I heard he wasn't doing well, what happened to him? Is he gonna be okay??"

"Spades?!"

Oh no, that same name...the same one who attacked her and Yu at the arena!

"That's the name of one of the attackers I saw..." she added as she looked downwards, gripping her wrists and trying not to break down again. She doesn't want to say it because she still blames herself for getting their leader hurt.

"That's the same man who attacked Yu-kun and myself. There was a girl there too..."

Yosuke's eyes grew wide in surprise upon hearing that. "That girl was there too? Hitsuji or whatever her name was??"

He wants to sit up in surprise but his body really hurts too much right now so he just sort of squirms and struggles against the injuries.

"What did they do to Yu?? Yukiko, what happened?!" You're making him freak out here.

Maybe a nurse should've sedated him beforehand because honestly, Yukiko is nervous about him jumping out of bed and doing something really stupid. That's how friendship goes some may think.

But she nods. "She absorbed my fire attack like it was nothing...it might have healed her but I don't know."

She keeps her head down, every last bit of resistance to not look at the second-in-command. He'll find out sooner or later and right now, she doesn't want to shout at anyone let alone cry again. It's bad when Izanami tried to comfort her.

"...he got hit with a fire attack. A strong one. He was...trying to protect me and took the full force of it."

Yosuke looks a little shocked by that...

"A fire attack?? But he knows you absorb fire, what the hell was he thinking?! Ugh and that Spades guy... That Spades guy absorbed an Almighty attack I sent at him, I have no fucking idea how..."

But that's not what he's worried about right now.

"Is he going to be alright?? Damnit, Yukiko, I don't even know if he's alive right now!!"

He winces a little at his own words... he didn't mean to get so angry but he wants a straight answer, and everything she was saying was just upsetting him worse.

"Calm down first! You'll only hurt yourself more like that!"

It was taking everything she had not to shout at the top of her lungs but it would only make things worse. Take a deep breath, Yukiko and speak to the boy without anyone getting pissed off.

"Friends protect each other: that's what they think about. If I were in the same position, I would shove any one of you out of the way because I care and rather want you safe. That's what I can assume Yu-kun was thinking as well."

She had to stay strong this time. No more crying.

"He's alive, I know it. If he wasn't going to make it, she would've taken him already. All we can do is believe in him. We know he'll make it."

Just that one gesture...that one movement...that is the hope she is hanging on.

Yosuke sighs and takes a deep breath, annoyed with that fact and yet understanding that Yu probably was just thinking on his toes, kind of like how Yosuke was at the time.

He's at least relieved to hear that Yu's alive. "I wouldn't let her lay a hand on him." His voice is dark, angry. "If I had to rip out this IV and walk on a broken leg I'd stop her. She doesn't have the right to take any of us."

"You won't be able to do anything if you don't rest."

She might be blunt with him at times but Yukiko does care about Yosuke's well being and the last thing anyone needs is a pissed off frog ninja going after a death goddess after nearly having a brush with it himself.

"We'll all protect each other. We won't do it alone."

Kanji was right when he said that...right before his persona hurled her like a missile.

"What good is getting better if I can't do anything to help anyone right now?? None of that will matter if any of you die!!"

He'd cripple himself, hell, he'd kill himself just to make sure none of his teammates, none of his friends, was taken away by her.

Starting to feel the strain on his aching body from the sheer frustration he was feeling, though, Yosuke decides to take a deep breath and relax into the bed once more... On a practical level, she was right, of course. Getting better faster was key right now.

"Can one of you keep me updated on everyone til I'm mobile again...? I don't want to be the last one to hear any of it... good news or bad news."

Well, at least she didn't say anything about Izanami saving them. If he heard that, he'd flip his lid. Maybe to the point where Yukiko would need to call a nurse and get him sedated, which isn't good right now.

"Of course we will."

"Thanks... I hate being left in the dark on this stuff. I'm glad you made it out alright.... man, who knew our enemies would be this goddamn tough?? We've fought hoards upon hoards of shadows, we fought a goddess, but this..."

He just groans, wishing he could roll over and pout about all of it.

"We've got our work cut out for us."
