Summary: After being violently removed from the Tower of Animus, everyone is returned 'home'.

There was a tight clench behind your navel, the sensation of something dragging you through the fabric of time and space itself... it was an unpleasant sensation, almost sickening. Those of Hinoto-Ri had vanished from the tower completely when the clock struck midnight from what had just happened, removed from that reality. It had happened with such abruptness that it was downright disorienting to observe. There was no chance for a hurried goodbye, no chance of even letting out a surprised scream...

Those of Hinoto-Ri were dragged back to their own world with very little grace, and for a dizzying and wild thirty seconds, they suffered from the sensation of thick tentacles grasping and yanking their bodies this way and that through a swirling blur of matter. Where were they going? What had caused this?

After those sickening moments that seemed to last far longer, they were unceremoniously shoved out of the Shining Trapezohedron in a stream of bright lights, and into what looked like a giant room filled with computer screens. At least it didn't appear to be the Mictlan, like when the other group had returned.

Pray that you weren't on the bottom of the pile...

Now there was a quiet hum, as an alarm went off. Lights shone brightly upon you as scientists outside were running scans to determine you weren't harmful from your trip. That left you time to think.

You had finally met him...

Nyarlathotep, the Crawling Chaos. He'd taunted some of you, shown you another world you had been sent to save...but in the end, nothing much had changed. Perhaps there was small solace that it was still standing and not completely obliterated as had been his plan. The questioned remained, however...

Where was He now? ...you could figure that out later. There were reunions to be had first.

Link is curled up against a wall, trying to gather his thoughts again. He doesn't feel well, and it's not just due to the inter-dimensional joyride.

He lifts his head slightly at the other's voice, but doesn't otherwise respond.

With the crowd, it's hard to spot someone sitting on the floor. But he does find him in due time.

"...Link?"

[nofairy]

"... Hi."

That's about all the greeting the older Link gets before the younger one attempts to tackle him into a hug, clinging tightly.

The hug catches Link by surprise. He's not quick to respond, and when he does, his hug is cautious, questioning.

"...what's wrong? What happened?"

[nofairy]

"I... I failed... I..."

He's shaking, clearly not in the best state for coherence at the moment. He presses his face into the other's shirt, tears starting to fall.

He just doesn't know what to say. He doesn't know why Link is feeling this way or what he's talking about, but he knows that asking won't get him any answers. So he stands there and holds Link tightly, letting him cry as much as he needs to.

After a little bit, he seems to calm down a bit, pulling back and wiping his face on his sleeve. "I... we found him... the one we were looking for. He... he said that in one timeline I... I didn't defeat Ganondorf... that I died..."

He takes a deep breath, trying to steady himself. "I... I know he was probably just trying to get us angry, but... but I'm not sure if what he said wasn't true..."

Link's first instinct is to find whoever told Link that and punch in the face.

But hypothetical violence isn't going to help the other Link right now, so he pushes that thought away.

"What...happened? I...I don't understand. Who are you talking about? Where did you go?"

"We went to this big tower with lots of other people. And there were people who were running the place. We were looking for someone who wasn't any of them. After a long while we ended up in a maze and me and a few other people found him. And... and things were... really weird the whole way... and... it's hard to explain."

Big bro haven't you learned not to expect a fully coherent story from little bro already?

It's okay. He can figure things out from here.

"Did you find that person? Is that who told you those things?"

[nofairy]

"Yeah. To both things."

If they can both figure their way through stupid dungeons, they can navigate this conversation.

"He was obviously trying to make you feel bad. You shouldn't listen to him."

[nofairy]

"I know."

And yet...

"... But what if he was right?"

He doesn't want to think that it is, but it's a possibility. Time is weird and he doesn't understand all of this time travel... this might be a better question for Princess Zelda.

"Then you try again, if you can."

[nofairy]

"... Yeah. Someone... someone will fight the darkness, right?"

... Right?

[sky_child]

"Yeah. Just like you and me! There's always someone who will come to fight it."

[nofairy]

"Yeah."

He reaches out and puts a hand on the other's arm to steady himself and to reassure him that he's there.

"It's gonna be okay," he says, placing his free hand over Link's.
