Summary: We have a pool now!  Summer fun for everyone!

[It's summer, and what would summer be without a pool?  Well, thankfully for the good citizens and Visitors of Hinoto-Ri, the public pool is finally open for business!  With three different pools, a snack bar, and plenty of space on the grass for playing frisbee or just laying out to get some sun, there's plenty of summertime fun for everyone!  There are also a number of pool toys to use, ranging from basketball hoops and plastic balls, water noodles, boogie boards, and just about anything else you can think of.]

[ Going to the pool is the sort of thing that Satou would want for him to do. And it's not like he can't swim or that he doesn't like the pool. He's just usually there for the people. Going there all by himself was sort of weird.

Which is why Mikale is wearing a shirt over his swim trunks and hanging out at the snack bar. Now he can put "went to the pool alone" in his book of accomplishments and not have to put up with looking awkwardly lonely all by himself.

Sorta win-win. Plus he got a sandwich and some pop. Can't say it's been a bad day. ]

[And when Zoe spots Mikale, she really can't resist going over to him with a cheery wave.]

Afternoon, Mikale!

!!! [ Mikale almost chokes on his drink when he hears his name called. It's not that he dislikes Zoe, but that he's still really shy and awkward. She's such a bright person. ] Z-Zoe, hey, hi... Good afternoon.

[Zoe doesn't seem to mind the awkward at all, and just gives him a cheery smile.] So, how have things been for you since we last spoke?

[shadowsher]

J-job... hunting... And exploring.

[ He's embarrassed to admit to these things. Mostly the exploring, because it means admitting to the fact that he has purposefully been a shut-in as of late. ]

Oh, that's good! [Hey, at least he's still getting out and about.]

I have also been exploring. As well as encouraging my roommate to get out a bit more as well.

Roommate?

[ He isn't going to pry if she doesn't want to elaborate, though. ]

What kind of exploring have you been doing?

Mmhm, I'm living with someone called Judas. You might have seen him, he has dark, wavy hair and tends to look rather gloomy.

And I've just been seeing what kinds of places there are in this city. It's far different than the city I grew up in, and I can't help but be curious.

[shadowsher]

Oh, yeah, I think I've met him... Maybe. [ He pays attention. ]

Found anything interesting?

Hmm... Well, there are these odd drums that can take you to other drums around the city. A very handy way to get around, at least.

[shadowsher]

Drums? So... they teleport you? Teleportation drums?

[papillonmagique]

Exactly! They're like those large, man-sized drums and when I used one, I was able to be taken to another drum in another part of the city.

And it's safe? You sure there aren't any strings attached? [Since his teleportation ability has a few risks involved. ]

[Nano's taking a break from the pool right now, when she runs into another familiar and friendly face. With a small wave, she approaches the table he's sitting at.]

Hello, Mikale-san! Are you enjoying the pool?

[shadowsher]

[ Of all people he expected to see at the pool, Nano is low on the list. Because she's a robot and he didn't ask if he was waterproof like a watch or anything. And even if she was, what if she can't go more than 5 feet under? Since when could the waterproof promise on a watch be trusted anyway? She would get broken!

So he is in a self-inflicted panic when he sees her. ]

Nano!!! What are-- Are you--- Did you get pushed in? Are you okay?!

[all_wound_up]

What?

[She has no idea why he's so panicky.]

No, I'm fine! What's wrong?

[shadowsher]

I-is it safe for you to be at the pool?!

[all_wound_up]

Huh?

[blink blink]

Of course! Why wouldn't it be safe?

[Nano's very well insulated against water, and doesn't particularly know that something like that is rather odd among robots.]

Pools are wet and robots can't get wet!

Hmm? I've always been able to...

[shadowsher]

You... oh. So you're... waterproof?

[all_wound_up]

I've never been in over my shoulders before, so I'm not completely sure, but it hasn't been a problem. Thunderstorms, though...

[Nano frowns, closing her eyes tightly and shuddering.]

[shadowsher]

What about them? [ He doesn't mean to pry... he just feels like he should know. Since he'd like to be able to look out for her. ]

Lightning frightens me.

[Maybe some innate robot thing. Electrical surges and all.]

[ Or just a cute moe girl thing.

He can't help but smile at that. Satou is just the same. ]

It's okay. I know a lot of people who don't like lightning.
