You've proven your worth to the city of Hinoto-Ri and this year the Masquerade is dedicated to you. You deserve the party, considering you saved the city from the Zodiac Monster! Besides, on the most powerful spiritual days, even the demons take a day off and enjoy a time of frightful good times with the humanoids.

The lights are all colored blue and purple, and the streets are filled with partygoers of all ages, in both fantastic and some-not-that-fantastic costumes. Pumpkins appear to be floating in the air, but once you come closer, you realize they are Pyro Jacks attending around. This is THEIR favorite holiday and they wouldn't have let it gone to waste!

Originally the Masquerade was to be celebrated around Scorpio's art center, but with the rebuilding still in process, it was moved close by, with the office of wands preparing all the charms needed. The streets need to be protected, considering the Full Moon was just a few days ago.

If you find yourself without any money, no worries! The Government has given you a bonus paycheck for your hard work last week. Costume shopping should be no problem, and the are still stores nearby selling their wears for last minute shopping!

With a small secure sector, it's sure to be an extra fantastic celebration of dancing, music and just watching both humans and demons going at it without much care. Candy is floating around thanks to the Pyro Jacks, grab something and try not to ruin your teeth. Hey, who IS that guy just passed by? Hard to tell.

After all, with these combination of Halloween costumes and a more high class masquerade ballgowns and masks, who knows is really human and who isn't?

It wasn't the first time Xion had ever been shopping, but it was the first time that the clothes were... quite like this. Except in HalloweenTown but you didn't have to shop for them. They just sort of... appeared. And even then her own coat had proved to be enough "costume" most of the times she was there.

It was very different, a place that celebrated Halloween once a year rather than a world that practically was Halloween incarnate. But it was enough that Xion felt... marginally less inexperienced. The ever-present absence of her closest friends did that enough.

Still, it was... nice, peering curiously in shop windows with Aqua. Or at least different. A better different than the scorpions had been.

Doing some last minute costume shopping? Well, you'll probably run into the two of them, doing the same thing.

To be honest, Aqua hadn't really been shopping for clothes much in the last six years, either... or at all, for that matter, aside from either dreaming them into existence or simply taking what she could that fit back in Abax where it had been a necessity. So shopping for a costume was... different for her.

At least she already had a mask.

She smiled faintly as they looked, a little inexperienced as well since she hadn't even been to Halloween Town and in Promenade, it simply appeared on her.

Shopping for clothing wasn't something Terra had much experience with in general, and certainly not of his own free will. It was a chore that usually just bored him at best, preferring to find what he needed and no more. So getting 'invited' to go costume shopping was... not too unexpected, given the date, but something he knew could take a while if neither of the girls new what they were looking for.

He follows the two, staying a few paces behind them. "Do you know what you're going as yet?"

At least Terra didn't have to look for much on his end; he still had the costume that the residents of Promenade had given him, though the light sword no longer worked like it once did. Finding something similar was his goal for this trip.

At least he already had a mask, if he needed it.

Glancing behind her, Xion shook her head sheepishly, "I... didn't even know there were so many things to go as. And... at HalloweenTown you just... got clothes when you got there, usually."

She peered from window to window, trying to figure out where the best place to start was. At last she stopped at somewhere with several racks of brightly colored outfits and designs. It vaguely reminded her of the clothes shops she'd been to before now.

"Maybe in here?" she suggested.

"Mm... and they just appeared for us in Promenade, too." She knew that feel, Xion. She knew that feel. "I'm sure we'll find something, though."

Yeah, sorry about this, bro, but six eyes are better than four? And all the color choices are nearly overwhelming...

"May as well take a look." She'll even open the door if a certain gentlemen doesn't beat her to the punch.

Hey Xion, remember the strange magical animals that came to help you out when you rushed into that fight with Riku's wanna-be-muggers?

Well, Komory Bat just spotted her while fluttering in circles above Riku's head (he has finally managed to escape from that costume store... though admittedly with a bag in tow) and is breaking away from its owner(?) and chirping cheerfully once it is close enough.

Riku just sighs as he follows, one hand up in a small wave once he spots Xion and Aqua.

She was focusing on some of the costumes for a brief moment... but then she heard a chirping, and sensed something that normally would have likely- wait, it kind of felt like Riku in some way? What was this even...

Aqua blinked, looking over to the strange bat. ...Oh sweet Light, it's adorable! She just wanted to pet it, yet she kept a sense of dignity about her (b-but the cute... Eudora we can pet it later.) and smiled back at her fellow master.

"Hello, Riku." Must restrain self from the sight of the cute must restrain self at the sight of the cute-- "Is this little guy yours?"

Why yes. Yes she does. And unlike Aqua, Xion has... fewer qualms reaching an hand up and out to pet the bat, if it'll let her. She can't help it, it's so fluffy and cute!

She smiles, though the smile turns a little more awkward as Riku approaches. She... still doesn't know what or how to feel around him, though she does at least nod and say, quietly, "Hey Riku."

Komory Bat is indeed fluffy and cute and very, very happy to be petted. It flutters around until is in perfect position to settle on Xion's shoulder.

Riku himself is mostly just smiling amused, returning the greeting with a "Hey." and a nod.

"Yes, he is."

And as if to prove his point Majik Lapin materializes, attaching itself to the bag he is carrying with one ear and its feet, waving in greeting with the other. (Riku kind of shoots it a small frown - he is not going to carry it around too :|).

Now that was just adorable. "He's cute."

Stating the obvious? Maybe, but it had been a long time since she saw something that cute that wasn't attempting to kill her. ...Though she couldn't help but laugh under her breath at suddenly Majik Lapin. Poor Riku.

"Looks like they can be a bit of a handful sometimes."

Xion stiffened a little in surprise when the Komory Bat landed on it - though not any kind of dislike. In fact, she was probably having a hard time hiding how pleased she was. She was careful not to move her shoulder too much, in case it dislodged it occupant.

"Yeah," she agreed with Aqua, lifting a hand up to wave back at the Majik Lapin. She opened her mouth to say something else, then closed it again. Anything she said would... probably would come out really silly right about then. So instead she busied herself with reaching a hand up to continue petting the bat on her shoulder.

Highwind curls his claws into her jacket, grin widening as it rubs against Xion's cheek - she really doesn't have to worry about shaking him off.

Riku continues to frown down at Veles, who just stares back - a small battle of wills ensuing, before the magic bunny turns away and lets go of the bag - pouting as he slides down to the ground.

His owner can only sigh at that though.

"You have no idea."

"...Oh, I might have some idea." Because, you see, she kind of suffered the Middle Pseudochild Syndrome once upon a time. And as the more mature one of the three, she kind of became a sort of mother figure to both boys. But before that-

"A couple certain boys weren't always so well-behaved."

Nope, totally not an eye twinkle.
