You've proven your worth to the city of Hinoto-Ri and this year the Masquerade is dedicated to you. You deserve the party, considering you saved the city from the Zodiac Monster! Besides, on the most powerful spiritual days, even the demons take a day off and enjoy a time of frightful good times with the humanoids.

The lights are all colored blue and purple, and the streets are filled with partygoers of all ages, in both fantastic and some-not-that-fantastic costumes. Pumpkins appear to be floating in the air, but once you come closer, you realize they are Pyro Jacks attending around. This is THEIR favorite holiday and they wouldn't have let it gone to waste!

Originally the Masquerade was to be celebrated around Scorpio's art center, but with the rebuilding still in process, it was moved close by, with the office of wands preparing all the charms needed. The streets need to be protected, considering the Full Moon was just a few days ago.

If you find yourself without any money, no worries! The Government has given you a bonus paycheck for your hard work last week. Costume shopping should be no problem, and the are still stores nearby selling their wears for last minute shopping!

With a small secure sector, it's sure to be an extra fantastic celebration of dancing, music and just watching both humans and demons going at it without much care. Candy is floating around thanks to the Pyro Jacks, grab something and try not to ruin your teeth. Hey, who IS that guy just passed by? Hard to tell.

After all, with these combination of Halloween costumes and a more high class masquerade ballgowns and masks, who knows is really human and who isn't?

That Majik Lapin isn't alone in harvesting candies. While he is an ordinary cat and thus limited to standing on railings and the like, Kurou seems to be enjoying batting the candies out of the air.

Which... can cause trouble when they go falling down to the ground at perfect strangers' heads. But by now Sasuke's gotten used to it, so he's more than ready to catch the bag of chocolates before it flies into Riku's face.

"-Sorry." Just that word alone is somewhat exasperated. He's not sure why the cat's going after all of the sweets, but by now it's clear Kurou doesn't intend to stop anytime soon.

Riku's already moved to dodge the bag in instinct, blinking, and then shaking his head as a smile makes its way on his face.

"It's all right. No harm done."

...Not that one could actually harm him with a bag of chocolates, but yeah.

Meanwhile, Majik Lapin is very excited to have found someone similarly minded and is squeaking cheerfully fully while waving at Kurou with one of its ears.

Kurou is a much quieter critter, simply giving a tilt of his head at the excitable dream eater. His tail betrays his curiosity though, twitching back and forth as he eyes this unfamiliar creature.

Sasuke for his part gives a nod to Riku, noting that the other boy moved pretty fast - an experienced fighter, maybe? Or possibly just athletic. It's really hard to tell in a place like this.

What to do with the candy, though...? He's already eaten a few, courtesy of Kurou. But he doesn't have any interest in gouging himself on sweets. After a second's contemplation, he holds it out to Riku. "...Do you want it? I've already had a few, and I don't think I can eat much more."

Majik Lapin squeals once more before using its ears to propel itself on the railing, its head tilting right back at the cat.

Komory Bat, meanwhile peers at the offered candy from Riku's shoulder, pressing against his cheek for a moment, causing its owner to glance over at it and sigh slightly. "Sure."

It's not like he's got that much dream candy on him anymore anyways. He might as well use the opportunity to stock up some, right?

"Thanks."

After a moment, Kurou appears to lose interest in the Majik Lapin, instead choosing to use the time to clean his whiskers.

Sasuke, however, remains intrigued even as he hands over the candy. "What exactly are those, if you don't mind me asking...?"

The Dream Eater tilted its head at the cat, not quite sure what to do with that reaction, then turns back to Riku, looking slightly disappointed - its new 'play mate' doesn't seem to want to play after all. Riku waves at it and waits until it hops down and back to his side before he leans down and scratches it a little behind the ears, while shaking his head lightly.

"I don't mind at all... They are called Dream Eaters."

Once done with the washing, Kurou leaps down as well, and Sasuke is alert enough to offer a shoulder for the cat to perch on.

"I've never seen creatures like them before. Are they common where you're from?"

By that time, Majik Lapin (from this point on known as Veles ~~since it took the mun forever to settle on a nickname~~) had wound one ear around Riku's arm and he lifted it up, cradling it a little against his body.

"Overall, not so much. ...They are kind of common in the area they live in though."

Though their 'evil twins' had been even more common.

"So they're from a different area, then?" Kurou may have lost his initial curiosity for the Dream Eaters, but Sasuke certainly hadn't. He suspects it would be near impossible, but the more he can learn about the creatures both native and not to this place, the more prepared he feels to deal with them as the need arises.

"Something like that."

Different realm, really, but that's kind of too complicated to get into right now. Hopefully there won't much need for him to become overly familiar with the Dream Eaters though... Riku at least, isn't really expecting to encounter any Nightmares around here.

"What about yours? Did you get it here, or is it a friend from back home?"

"His name is Kurou, and he's from home. He's been my partner for a long time." Sasuke gives the cat an affectionate pat on the head at the thought.

"I see."

Partners, huh... Kind of like him and the Dream Eaters... though maybe probably not quite as combat oriented. ...He should follow up on the introduction, shouldn't he?

"These are Highwind," he turns his head towards the bat on his shoulder then to the bunny in his arms, "and Veles."

And then he adds in afterthought.

"And I'm Riku."

Sasuke nods to each one as they are introduced. His cat looks up at them again, ears perked, as if absorbing this information as well. ...Not that it was especially likely. I mean, it's just an ordinary cat, right?

"I'm Sasuke." And since he's gotten no last name from Riku, he'll just stick with his first. "Have you been here for very long?
