Masquerade [Open to all]

Who: Everyone
Where: Near Scorpio's Central Art District
Summary: You all did good. Halloween is being celebrated in style.
Warnings: Nothing for the moment. Costumes?
Congratulations!

You've proven your worth to the city of Hinoto-Ri and this year the Masquerade is dedicated to you. You deserve the party, considering you saved the city from the Zodiac Monster! Besides, on the most powerful spiritual days, even the demons take a day off and enjoy a time of frightful good times with the humanoids.

The lights are all colored blue and purple, and the streets are filled with partygoers of all ages, in both fantastic and some-not-that-fantastic costumes. Pumpkins appear to be floating in the air, but once you come closer, you realize they are Pyro Jacks attending around. This is THEIR favorite holiday and they wouldn't have let it gone to waste!

Originally the Masquerade was to be celebrated around Scorpio's art center, but with the rebuilding still in process, it was moved close by, with the office of wands preparing all the charms needed. The streets need to be protected, considering the Full Moon was just a few days ago.

If you find yourself without any money, no worries! The Government has given you a bonus paycheck for your hard work last week. Costume shopping should be no problem, and the are still stores nearby selling their wears for last minute shopping!

With a small secure sector, it's sure to be an extra fantastic celebration of dancing, music and just watching both humans and demons going at it without much care. Candy is floating around thanks to the Pyro Jacks, grab something and try not to ruin your teeth. Hey, who IS that guy just passed by? Hard to tell.

After all, with these combination of Halloween costumes and a more high class masquerade ballgowns and masks, who knows is really human and who isn't?

After a second to remember that not everyone bowed for greetings, Meetra took Yu's hand and shook it firmly.

"It's a pleasure," she said. "So...you didn't answer my question. If you know anything about other Jedi here, I'd be obliged to know."
linefacingforever: (I'm in hillbilly hell...)

"Oh, sorry," Yu replied. He paused, trying to find a good way to put this... "sorry you're galaxy is a movie" seemed a bit rude, but it was hard to find any other way to say it. "The Jedi, the Republic, the Empire... all of that is a work of fiction on my world."

"Work of fiction?" That was the first wild story in a while that brought Meetra up short, mostly because she couldn't make sense of out of it.

"What, you mean, your world has stories based on my world? How does that work?" she asked.
linefacingforever: (???)

[personal profile] linefacingforever 2012-11-04 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
Yu nodded. "I'm not sure how," he admitted. "Maybe worlds that are close to one another can influence each other?"

"Hm...oh, or since we know dimensional travel is possible because of this place, maybe someone came to your world with stories from mine," she suggested. "That would explain why you know the general terms, but I've still never heard of the guy you're talking about."
linefacingforever: (Considering all the things.)

[personal profile] linefacingforever 2012-11-04 03:31 pm (UTC)(link)
"That's possible. It might be that the ideas are the same, but the people are different," Yu replied, thinking. He was really genuinely curious now; he had to look through his things and see if his DVDs made it over.

"Which would explain why I've never heard of anyone named Skywalker. I wonder if someone got the name 'Sunrider' wrong...," Meetra said, pondering.

"And 'Return of the Jedi' could mean practically anything. In fact, if I still count as a Jedi, it'd be a good name for a holovid about the last few months," she admitted.
linefacingforever: (Yosuke what are you doing?)

"Sunrider sounds vaguely familiar..." Yu murmured, trying to think. He hadn't really gotten that into the Extended Universe, but the name still sounded like something he had heard before...

"Really? What's happened?" he asked, insanely curious. Because. Dude. Jedi. Star Wars. How could he not form a social link with this person?

"The short version is I was kicked out, then I came back," she said, looking around in a not very surreptitious manner for some punch.

"I don't think a party's the right place to go into the long version," she said, seizing on the opportunity of a nearby Pyro Jack to at least grab some candy to change the subject with.
linefacingforever: (Some quiet contemplation.)

"It is too public," Yu agreed, his own Pyro Jack bobbing around happily in the background. "I'd like to know sometime, if you don't mind sharing."

He reached back, rubbing the back of his neck. "...I grew up watching the movies, so... seeing it for real is amazing for me."

...this was probably the most honest he had ever been with someone he hadn't social linked with yet.

"Well, if your movies are anything like our holovids, I wouldn't count on the reality being anywhere near the theatrical version," Meetra admits, handing Yu some of the candy she'd grabbed.

"I added some things about my galaxy to that COMP database a while ago. If you want to trade stories, we can do that too some time. I live in Pisces 9-06 if you ever want to drop by."

Yu accepted the candy with a smile, unwrapping two before popping one in his mouth and tossing the other up. His Pyro Jack zoomed by at that moment, catching the candy in its jack o' lantern mouth. He thought nothing of it, sliding the hand with the candy into a pocket. Rule of cool and all that.

"I'll look it up later tonight," he said after a moment. "I'm in Libra, but I can always stop by after work sometime."

"That was pretty smooth. Is that one yours, then?" she asked, noting the happy Pyro Jack flying around. She couldn't quite tell the difference between a demon and a Persona, at least not in a crowd like this, but she's seen people with both as personal assistants and/or pets.

"Yeah; I got him from Igor," Yu explained as his Pyro Jack went to hang around with its friends. Really, there wasn't anything that different from the Persona Pyro Jack and the demon Pyro Jack; just that the persona responded to his summoner.

"I'm going to need to ask about that the next time that room appears. I was a little...out of it the first time I went, and didn't get an extra Persona," she said, watching the little gourd-headed things fly around.

"You were affected by the Scorpions as well?" Yu asked, curious. Wow, even Jedi weren't safe from these Arcana events, hunh...

"Igor is a bit unusual looking, but he's a good guy," he explained. "The people in the Velvet Room don't directly interfere with anything, but they're always helpful."
