You've proven your worth to the city of Hinoto-Ri and this year the Masquerade is dedicated to you. You deserve the party, considering you saved the city from the Zodiac Monster! Besides, on the most powerful spiritual days, even the demons take a day off and enjoy a time of frightful good times with the humanoids.

The lights are all colored blue and purple, and the streets are filled with partygoers of all ages, in both fantastic and some-not-that-fantastic costumes. Pumpkins appear to be floating in the air, but once you come closer, you realize they are Pyro Jacks attending around. This is THEIR favorite holiday and they wouldn't have let it gone to waste!

Originally the Masquerade was to be celebrated around Scorpio's art center, but with the rebuilding still in process, it was moved close by, with the office of wands preparing all the charms needed. The streets need to be protected, considering the Full Moon was just a few days ago.

If you find yourself without any money, no worries! The Government has given you a bonus paycheck for your hard work last week. Costume shopping should be no problem, and the are still stores nearby selling their wears for last minute shopping!

With a small secure sector, it's sure to be an extra fantastic celebration of dancing, music and just watching both humans and demons going at it without much care. Candy is floating around thanks to the Pyro Jacks, grab something and try not to ruin your teeth. Hey, who IS that guy just passed by? Hard to tell.

After all, with these combination of Halloween costumes and a more high class masquerade ballgowns and masks, who knows is really human and who isn't?

"Aw, gross." Atsuro holds the sticky end at arm's length and scrunches up his nose. "I meant you should have grabbed one for me, br-ho. I don't want any of your weird Demon King germs."

"There's nothing weird about my Demon King germs," Kazuya sniffed primly, turning his nose up in the air and prancing a few steps ahead of Atsuro, his cape snapping out at the sharp movement.

"It's like the War of the Worlds. All the aliens die from getting our diseases; you'll be Patient Zero of the outbreak of demonic plague." Atsuro nods sagely to himself as he flicks the little stick into a convenient trash receptacle they pass. ...He still holds his contaminated fingers at arm's length, though.

Kazuya looked over his shoulder, and suddenly grinned ferally. With casual movements, he pivoted on his heel and prowled back to his friend, his expression one of exaggerated, mocking-innocence.

"Aw...have your fingers got cooties~?"

"I can feel them dissolving already." Atsuro replies glumly while reaching towards Kazuya's cape to wipe off his fingers. ...Honestly, they had barely touched the sticky parts.

Kazuya snatched his cape out of reach, throwing it over his arm and tutting at him. "No, don't do that. Wipe it on your own cape."

Atsuro reaches out further, unbalancing himself slightly. He's probably just joking, though.

"Yours is the same color as the lollipop was. Mine is transparent; it'll ruin the effect if there are any smear marks on it."

Kazuya hissed at him, swatting at Atsuro's hand very much like a disgruntled cat. "No. Wipe it on someone else. Pretend to bump into them or whatever," he smirked, "That'd be kinda funny..."

Ah, he had provoked the wrath of Kazunya... Much like an angry kitty, it was generally better to appease him. Atsuro sighs and refrains from reaching for Kazuya's cape, discreetly trailing his fingers against the wall of a building as he walks by.

"Wiping it on some guy walking by? C'mon, Kazuya, that's the lowest of the low." Another sigh, this one mocking in nature as Atsuro shakes his head. "I've lost you to the dark side..."

"You're coming to this realisation now?" Kazuya said, looking slightly bemused. "I'm so thoroughly lost in the dark side I've become feral and built a nest in the darkness's wilderness."

"Kitty box."

Atsuro helpfully supplements.

"I don't think cats make nests, usually. I guess they kinda tamp down grass or something when they're out in the wild."

"Yeah, well," Kazuya frowned for a moment. "This cat makes nests. I want somewhere warm to sleep instead of a shitty grass mattress- W-Wait! I'm not a cat!"

Dammit, Atsuro! Tricking him like that...

"Nya, nya~"

Atsuro pats Kazuya lightly on the head and bids farewell to the use of his left arm. It was totally worth it.

Kazuya growled and latched onto Atsuro's tightly with both hands. For a moment it did look like he was going to use his superior, demonic strength to rip the limb from his friend's shoulder.

He didn't, thankfully.

Instead.

He bit him.

On the arm.

'Gently'.

"Wha -- Ow!"

Atsuro pulls away sharply and stares in astonishment at Kazuya. Biting wasn't generally the response he got to his teasing. His sleeve had protected the skin from being torn through, but there would be a sizable mark for a while.

"What was that?"

"S'called a bite," Kazuya said primly, pulling back with a sniff. He licked his lips, his little fangs peeking out, and then smirked smugly. "Y'know, shit that Kazunya's do. Anyway, I didn't even bite you that hard."

Atsuro pulls away and makes a sullen face, rubbing the wounded area.

"Yeah, well. Kazunya's gonna get a time-out for misbehaving. I'm definitely gonna get some demon disease now."

"My bite isn't poisonous," Kazuya scoffed - then paused, suddenly looking uncertain. "I think anyway. I've already had some weird changes...yeah."

Kazuya's expression flattened, and he patted Atsuro on the shoulder. "You're definitely infected with demon cooties now. Sorry. It was nice knowing you."

"Jerk." Atsuro sighs and tries not to imagine how badly the bite site will bruise when he wakes up tomorrow.

"If I die from the plague, I'm coming back to haunt you forever. I'm just letting you know in ad -- "

A sudden cut-off as Atsuro stumbles, lets out a stifled gasp, and turns pale.

Kazuya stiffened up when Atsuro tripped and paled, immediately on the defensive as instincts to protect his friend rose up - but his bored expression didn't even twitch. "I'm not going to fall for that, Atsuro," he drawled, prodding his friend in the shoulder. "My bite isn't poisonous, Jesus..."
