The Search for the Newcomers, November 2012 Edition.

Who: Open to Everyone, but only Newly Accepted Characters can start threads.
Where: All around the city, anywhere from the 5th to the 20th.
Summary: Newcomers arrive and by now the Government is more ready and sends everyone out to go people hunting.
Warnings: ARRIVALS. Also assume the first thread is the ones who tell you about the city, and the other tags for the character can be talking with others in the city and learning more about it.

[FOR THOSE IN THE CITY:]
They were getting much better at this, it was for certain.

The COMPS had been upgraded with a new program, HORUS which allowed them to spot abnormalities; if something or someone showed up suddenly in a city that was constantly scanned, then there was a high probability it was a newcomer. There was also a sort of left energy from the travel; the Wise Men called it leftover Magatama Residue, where the magical energy used to pull them to this world and keep the String intact was still faintly present around them. It wouldn't last more than a few minutes, however, and due to the fact they could appear in most parts of the city, it made finding the newcomers was both easy yet frustratingly difficult. As the blips appear on your radar function, they were nice enough to calculate for you the best transport and destination routes to take to get there.

Now it was just left up to chance and make sure you got there fast enough that you were still able to find them relatively easily. For the most part, the fact they stuck out would most certainly help...

[FOR THOSE WHO JUST ARRIVED:]
You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

[OOC: As stated above, only new characters can start a thread, but feel free to jump in any of them. characters arrive with their clothing and whatever items they had on them the moment they were taken; the remaining items will be later found in their apartments.]

...well, that did not sound like Nanako.

This was also a fabulous way to get Yu to jump clear out of his skin, and while he didn't actually do that, he was obviously startled. The wooden spoon he was using to stir the sauce fell out of the pan he was holding, spraying blue tomato sauce over the stove. He spun around, shifting his head down to stare at the small boy in the stripes with a completely bewildered expression on his face.

"...how did you get in here?" he asked, keeping his voice calm despite his obvious surprise.

The boy with faded black hair and vividly blue eyes is seated on the kitchen table, and while he is confused as heck to find himself here, Pharos does find the teenager's utterly bewildered reaction to be amusing. He smiles cheerfully but in a detached manner, and shrugs, still staring with an unwavering gaze at the other male. (He also radiates a constant sense of Death.)

"It was an accident, Yu-san," Pharos replied lightly. After all, he was aiming for a bedroom, not a kitchen. His interest then is distracted by the mess, and his gaze switches to the matter of the bright blue tomato sauce splattered all over the kitchen stove. "Why is it... blue?"

When he got over his initial response of, "Why is there someone in my kitchen I don't know?!" he picked up on that. He was pretty used to that feeling -- he got it every time he crossed paths with Izanami, after all -- but getting it from a little kid was a bit jarring.

...and then he had to go and call him by name. Strangers calling him by name... why did people he didn't know always seem to know him?!

"...that's just how it is here," he answered after a moment, instantly on guard. "Who are you?"

Because while being the protagonist earns you a truckload of swag, it also earns you an endless assortment of powerful beings and gods knowing your name, home address, and a little blinking sign over your head that says, REPRESENTIVE OF HOPE RIGHT HERE. How can one not be interested?

He leans over a little, fingers curling on the edge of the table, and his face titled upward slightly. The gray-haired Persona-user is a lot taller than the person he normally talks to is, okay. He made a quiet noise.

"Pharos," he said, pausing at the older teenager's wariness, and dismissing it just as quickly. "My name is Pharos. It's nice to meet you."
linefacingforever: (Yosuke what are you doing?)

...I legit died laughing.

...this is what he gets for being this awesome. Fortunately, once Yu gets over the initial shock, he takes it all in stride like everything else. Despite the feeling of death, this kid didn't seem so bad; perhaps he was like Izanami, only not... bitter. He turned back to his cooking for a moment; maybe he should be making a little more pasta for the extra guest...?

"Pharos," he replied, giving him a nod in greeting. "...most people use the door."

He was obviously just teasing, even if his expression did not change that much.

I aim to please.

... Let's not get into Pharos' disillusionment with the human race in general, okay. That's a subject best saved for later.

The black-haired boy hops down from the tabletop, the sound of his open-toed sandals making impact with the kitchen floor the only hint he wasn't actually a particularly vocal ghost, smiling mysteriously, "I suppose they do, don't they?"

It's all good, Pharos is practiced in interpreting the humor of poker-faced humans with their facial expression set semipermanently on mute. People are strange creatures, but of course, not everybody can teleport wherever they desire to go and whenever they please.

You do succeed. <3

Yu cracked a smile at that, glancing back at him. He wasn't very sure about this kid... but he didn't seem bad at all.

"What brings you to our apartment, Pharos?" he asked.

Thank you~ :D

"I'm searching for someone precious to me," he said and exhaled slowly, a small gust of air tumbling out from between his lips, rocking back on his heels for a second.

Pharos added solemnly, "But they aren't here." A shame, that. But he would keep looking and he would so all night if he had to.
linefacingforever: (Oh um... hunh.)

"What's their name?" he asked, turning the heat down on the sauce, before checking the pot with the spaghetti in it. Hm... almost done; he glanced over at Pharos again, curious.

"...do you want to eat while you're here?"

:>

[personal profile] the_usual_stuff 2012-11-10 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
"Minato Arisato. Or Minako Arisato," Pharos replied, gesturing with one pointing finger, bright eyes scanning over the room and the kitchen's contents idly. He blinks at the mention of staying to eat. Eating was a human function and not something he needed to survive. Pharos wasn't even sure he could eat.

Or that he wanted to.

But... The abrupt removal from his world had weakened him and his teleportation abilities were behaving strangely. His host had always seemed stronger and more alert after consuming dishes of food.

"Stay to eat?" he questioned, half-echoing, brow knitted together.
linefacingforever: (Yosuke what are you doing?)

[personal profile] linefacingforever 2012-11-10 02:53 pm (UTC)(link)
"Ah... yeah, they're here. Minako is actually in this building," Yu replied, poking at the noodles with a wooden spoon, before giving it a stir. Can't have those things clumping together now. "I'm not sure which room. Minato is in the other building in the Pisces district."

He took the noodle off the heat, going over to drain them out.

"Yeah," he answered him over his shoulder. "We should have enough for an extra person."

[personal profile] the_usual_stuff 2012-11-10 07:41 pm (UTC)(link)
At this new information provided by the steel-eyed teenager, Pharos perks up noticeably. Maybe his teleportation skills were not misfiring as much as he had believed if he had appeared so close to his original destination. Well, he wasn't operating blind at least. He considers simply walking out the door, and searching the rest of the building right this instant, but Yu's next words make him pause.

It would be polite to accept the offer of dinner, Pharo knew. If they had extra food and were willing to break beard with him, why not? Maybe he was too low on energy to transport himself properly. It would make find his dearest(s) easier since he had no idea where the Pisces district was. That was the thought that clinched it.

"... Sure," he finally nodded. Perhaps however he had came to exist separately from his jar would prove beneficial after all. "I'll stay for 'dinner.'"

Yu offered him a faint smile as steam wafted up from the sink. Maybe if he knew this kid's thought process he would have some issues, but... well, he would have to see the truth for himself, that was all there was to it.

"My little sister should be in the living room. You should introduce yourself."

That, and Nanako proved she was capable of handling herself when things got really bad. Messing with his cousin was grounds to get blasted with light spells, before Izanagi came out to just blast.

[personal profile] the_usual_stuff 2012-11-13 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
Sorry, his entire thesis for existence revolves around two protags, Death, and the Fall. Beyond that, Pharos needs to work on expanding his horizons. ... Character development and all that.

"Introduce myself to your younger sibling? Alright," he answered and wandered off into the room with Nanako seated on a cushion in front of the television while Yu cooked dinner in the kitchen. (He's not gonna try anything, Yu, why would he do that? You have Izanagi on your side, you could kick his ass.)
