The Search for the Newcomers, November 2012 Edition.

Who: Open to Everyone, but only Newly Accepted Characters can start threads.
Where: All around the city, anywhere from the 5th to the 20th.
Summary: Newcomers arrive and by now the Government is more ready and sends everyone out to go people hunting.
Warnings: ARRIVALS. Also assume the first thread is the ones who tell you about the city, and the other tags for the character can be talking with others in the city and learning more about it.

[FOR THOSE IN THE CITY:]
They were getting much better at this, it was for certain.

The COMPS had been upgraded with a new program, HORUS which allowed them to spot abnormalities; if something or someone showed up suddenly in a city that was constantly scanned, then there was a high probability it was a newcomer. There was also a sort of left energy from the travel; the Wise Men called it leftover Magatama Residue, where the magical energy used to pull them to this world and keep the String intact was still faintly present around them. It wouldn't last more than a few minutes, however, and due to the fact they could appear in most parts of the city, it made finding the newcomers was both easy yet frustratingly difficult. As the blips appear on your radar function, they were nice enough to calculate for you the best transport and destination routes to take to get there.

Now it was just left up to chance and make sure you got there fast enough that you were still able to find them relatively easily. For the most part, the fact they stuck out would most certainly help...

[FOR THOSE WHO JUST ARRIVED:]
You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

[OOC: As stated above, only new characters can start a thread, but feel free to jump in any of them. characters arrive with their clothing and whatever items they had on them the moment they were taken; the remaining items will be later found in their apartments.]

If she looked up, she might see a sight that was at least a little familiar: a large bat was flying through the sky, pure white with blue underside. It was a far cry from Nazis or anything that a certain dog of hers was capable of, but it actually seemed to be eyeing her, circling around overhead a few times, before moving along down the street.

Don't mind Soma, he's just trying to get a good scope of the area.

Integra did indeed look up, a brow arched slightly as she stared at the large bat. She'd never seen one that size, or even that color, that was for sure -- for a brief moment, it had her hoping that it was her vampiric servant... but she was forced back down into the realm of reality once more when she realized that would have been physically impossible. She'd never seen him take on such a form. Not to mention it was white.

Her eyes narrowed slightly, and she finished her cigar, dropping it onto the pavement and twisting her foot against it, before she stuffed her hands into her pockets and just sort of meandered in the direction the large bat had gone. At the very least, the exercise would be good for her aching muscles; really, instead of chasing a bat she should have been trying to find a hospital.

The bat continued on its way, not noticing he was being followed this time as he made his way around the city, returning to the spot where he had appeared in the city. The large white wings fanned out, and the bat descended to the ground. Wings became softer, going from leather to cotton, the coat coming down around a pair of legs as the bat became a man.

Soma tossed his head back, cracking his neck, before reaching up, stretching his arms. Man, that had taken a lot of his magical power, but it had been worth getting a bird's-eye view of the city...

A moment passed, before he paused, glancing behind him... was he being followed...?

Jeez, did the damned thing have to fly around the city like that? At one point, Integra had almost given up on her little quest to follow the large white creature, and yet something in the back of her mind told her to press on. At least the little impromptu tour had done her a bit of good; she was fairly sure she'd seen a hospital on their way.

Getting back there, of course, would be the difficult part.

She paused and hung back when she realized the bat was getting lower and lower to the ground. She stayed in the shadows for the most part, eyes widening slightly at the transformation. No, this was definitely not Alucard... was this man a vampire, too, though?

When he glanced over his shoulder, she finally decided to make her presence known, and she stepped from the shadows, trying not to look as absolutely exhausted as she felt. "I was hoping you'd land soon. I had no idea you were going to turn into a human, however. Are you a vampire?"

Blunt? Yes. Get used to it.

He was expecting it, but he still jumped slightly when she spoke, turning toward her.

"Sorry, I was trying to get an idea of the city layout," he replied, slipping his hands into the pockets of his white trench coat. The action disturbed the folds of his coat slightly, revealing a strange sword at his side. "Sorry, but I'm just a human."

Normally, anyway; but no one needed to know the truth just yet... or ever, if he had it his way. But he was less concerned about himself and more concerned with her; he frowned, sensing more than actually seeing the weakness in her.

"Are you all right?"

"There's nothing to be sorry about. I'm glad to hear you're human," Integra supplied thoughtfully. It was the truth, at least, although she wasn't so sure she was buying it. Even so, for now, she was more than alright with keeping her thoughts to herself; usually, she was more than a little outspoken, but considering that her title meant nothing here, and the fact that she'd rather make a few friends than enemies... she was willing to keep her mouth shut. For now.

Was she all right? No. No, she was not all right; she'd lost the two most important people in her life, the only two people [well, one wasn't a human, but really, details] who had ever been truly consistent... gone. Walter had lost himself to his ego, and Alucard had simply disappeared in front of her eyes. Not to mention that stupid, fat Nazi. She'd almost HAD him--!

Taking a small breath, she nodded. "...Yes, I'm fine. I was in a car accident before arriving here," she explained. It wasn't a complete lie; but like him, she had her own secrets to keep. "I suppose I should be apologizing for stalking you; I hope you understand. My name is Sir Integra Hellsing, by the way."

"Soma Cruz, and don't worry about it," he replied quickly, heading toward her. He did not care about the fact she was following him, or the fact that it was probably obvious he wasn't completely human and she could easily call him on that. If she was really in a car accident before arriving here, then she needed to seriously get to a hospital. Now.

"We passed by a hospital a few minutes ago," he began, his concern obvious. "You should get checked out; I'll take you back there."
integra_hellsing: (whatever you say)

A slender blond brow arched, and she shook her head. Somehow during all of the chaos, she'd managed to get the bleeding on her head to stop, which was a plus; she wasn't really sure if she had a concussion or not, though. Her head had slammed pretty hard into the steering wheel -- considering she wasn't wearing a seat belt at the time, she was really pretty lucky she hadn't been thrown through the damned windshield.

"It's fine. This is nothing, I can assure you, although I do appreciate your concern," she replied, before glancing back up at the sky. "There are still things I wish to learn about this city before I go anywhere. I take it that you just arrived as well?"

"It doesn't look like nothing," Soma replied, his small way of protesting against her stubbornness. He was not going to force her, though; not unless she fell over.

"Yeah, I have."
integra_hellsing: (loosening up)

[personal profile] integra_hellsing 2012-11-15 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
"I've had worse," Integra replied wearily, allowing her eyes to move back to the young man. Pushing her glasses back up the bridge of her nose [how they hadn't been broken had completely baffled her, but she wasn't about to question it], she had to fight the urge to dig around for another cigar. Socializing wasn't one of her high points.

"What do you think so far? It's all a bit hard to believe, isn't it?"
whitedarklord: (Soma * Glancing behind...)

[personal profile] whitedarklord 2012-11-15 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Not really all that hard to believe," Soma replied, shrugging slightly. Hey, he had already got sucked into an eclipse, told that he needed to go to the throne room where he found out he was the reincarnation of the worst vampire in history, and then travel into an alternate world in order to defeat the core of chaos itself.

And that was just last year.

"I've been through more confusing stuff."
integra_hellsing: (pure virgin blood)

"I suppose you're right," she replied, frowning slightly. She couldn't help but glance around every now and then, almost a little paranoid; but really, who wouldn't be? She'd just come from a war zone; the only sound she'd heard for the last few hours were gunfire, screams of terror and pain, moans of the undead... and German. Lots, and lots of German.

The very thought was giving her another headache. Perhaps that was just her poor battered skull, though.

"I see. I do wish to go home, preferably soon. I was in the middle of something extremely important, something only I can do. This is highly inconvenient."
whitedarklord: (Soma * Wait a second...)

[personal profile] whitedarklord 2012-11-15 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
"Maybe so, but that butterfly person seemed pretty insistent," Soma replied, keeping a wary eye on her. She really did not look good, and that head wound...

"Are you sure you don't want help to the hospital?"
integra_hellsing: (Keeping something from you)

[personal profile] integra_hellsing 2012-11-16 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
"Indeed they did. Hopefully this will be over soon, and we can all get back to what we were doing," she replied, before shrugging. She shook her head again at his offer, lifting a tired hand to her head, hiding a wince as she touched the wound gingerly.

"I'm sure it will heal. Perhaps I will go in a few hours," she responded, dropping her hand to inspect it for blood. There was a tiny bit, yes, but not much.
