The Search for the Newcomers, December 2012 Edition.

Who: Open to Everyone, but only Newly Accepted Characters can start threads.
Where: All around the city! They appear where you want them to appear.
Summary: Newcomers arrive and by now the Government is more ready and sends everyone out to go people hunting.
Warnings: ARRIVALS. Also assume the first thread is the ones who tell you about the city, and the other tags for the character can be talking with others in the city and learning more about it.

[FOR THOSE IN THE CITY:]
They were getting much better at this, it was for certain.

Last month's initial testing of the HORUS system had worked really well. The device which allowed everyone to spot abnormalities; and now even more refined, they could hone in on newcomers at a much faster pace. The leftover energy from the travel (commonly called Magatama Residue) gave them a few minutes to find them before it would flicker out.

Combined with the fact they could appear in most parts of the city, it made finding the newcomers was both easy yet frustratingly difficult.

As the blips appear on your own radar function, it was also nice enough to calculate for you the best transport and destination routes to take to get there. Speed was of the essence, after all.

[FOR THOSE WHO JUST ARRIVED:]
You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

[OOC: As stated above, only new characters can start a thread, but feel free to jump in any of them. characters arrive with their clothing and whatever items they had on them the moment they were taken; the remaining items will be later found in their apartments.]

"Caught up in it like everyone else." You'd think that would get easier. It hasn't, really.

"I see."

Ruri ponders for a minute and looks up at her.

"Well, I can really only offer information and my data is incomplete at best but I can try to fill in any gaps in what you were told."

"I haven't really been told anything yet, you're the first person I've spoken to." Somehow, it was more straightforward to wake up in bed with a skeleton wearing pajamas.

"I see. From what little information I've gathered there was some sort of crisis that resulted in most of Earth suffering from some horrible calamity. I haven't had time to research that much. This place is one of the few remaining cities and two supernatural forces, representing order and chaos are fighting over it. Or something. Its all rather out of my area of expertise so I've just been trying to gather any data I could."

"It sounds like the sort of thing I usually make a point of staying out of." It wouldn't do for an aspect of the universe itself to take a side in most conflicts.

"No I suppose not. I'm just trying to figure this out myself, as absolutes of anything never are good."

"If you've realized that much, you're doing pretty well." Not that she blames mortals. They have a very different perspective, after all.

"I've seen both sides in their extreme and many people died due to both. All things in moderation I suppose."

[acapriciousthing]

"Exactly. The extremes are all well and good for gods, but mortals need a bit of everything." Of course, people didn't tend to listen all the time...

[electricyousei]

"I've never met a god, I don't think there are any on my world. So I really can't speculate one way or another on what is good for them."

"I've met them all, at home." It came with the territory. "They tend to be a lot more narrowly defined than people are."

[electricyousei]

"Are they just as prone to being idiots as people too?"

[acapriciousthing]

She has to laugh at that. "Yep. Same with anthropomorphic personifications. Idiocy seems to be a universal trait."

"At least where sentience is involved it seems."

[acapriciousthing]

"True. I've yet to meet an idiotic non-sentient rock." Sentient rocks on the other hand...

[electricyousei]

"I've never tried to carry out a dialogue with a rock. Is that a work duty?"

[acapriciousthing]

"It's remarkable, the number of forms life ends up taking." The Green Lantern Corps seemed to be partial to the strangest ones.

[electricyousei]

"Biology has never been a strong suit of mine. Or is there contact with more planets on your Earth?"

[acapriciousthing]

"The short version is... I go everywhere." Okay, really, that was the long version too.

[electricyousei]

"So you are more assigned to a particular dimension than a planet?"

[acapriciousthing]

"Yes. My siblings and I are aspects of the universe itself." And once upon a time, she would have expected that to be all of it.

"Do you speak with aspects from other universes?"

[acapriciousthing]

"For a long time I didn't, but I've met a few since then."

[electricyousei]

"I'm guessing there isn't a big meeting every so many centuries where people argue about putting away the chairs when its all done."

[acapriciousthing]

"No, before things got... interesting." That seemed like the word, at any rate. "I had always thought it was just me."
