Summary: Anant and his Persona Dionysus throw a wine party! Mingle, have fun, and watch out for the drinks, some of them are spiked...
Warnings: Alcohol, so expect some silliness in this log. All of the silliness.



It began entirely by accident, really.

Anant had learned that one celebrated the turning of the New Year - a novel experience, really! A world that didn't stand still, that had the cycle of night and day, and the turning of the seasons; the thought of beginning time anew was something beautiful and magnificent to the deluded god. No wonder humans would celebrate such an event!

Dionysus had suggested that perhaps wine would be the best thing to toast the New Year with - and, of course, it would be best to celebrate it where the moon was high in the sky and the stars in view. Atmosphere was just as important! Their quest took them to the square in the Scorpio Ward, nicely fixed up from a past event (something about scorpions, they didn't pry). Anant, of course, brought their own table.

Dionysus supplied the wine, Anant pushed it upon those who were passing by at the time, and soon a crowd began to gather. It started small, but Anant's bubbly personality, delicious wine, and the lighthearted atmosphere drew more and more Hinoto-Ri natives to the scene, and eventually, some of the new arrivals. By the time the clock struck midnight, on the New Years, a large impromptu party had taken over the square!

The free alcohol was possibly the cause of it, but so long as everyone was happy and having fun, why should Anant object to such a thing! To observe such a large congregation of people together - it was magical! Fantastical!

Devious.

It was just past half past twelve in the morning when the 'effect's began appearing. But what did one expect, accepting alcohol from the God of Lunacy? With the moon so high on the sky, washing down on the people below, on such a jovial occasion, how couldn't Dionysus splash a bit of mischief in there?

So have fun, my fellow inhabitants. This night will surely be memorable...

Sora wasn't quite as far along as Link, just at the liquid jackettipsy stage. This was technically his second time tasting alcohol, but without adult supervision (and his larger body) meant that he could really do whatever he pleased. Right now, he wanted to see what all the fuss was about!

Not that he liked being bumped into. Sora put a hand on Link's shoulder, mindful of the blades hidden on his forearm.

"Hey there, bro, watch it."

Sob if only I had a character slot for Tsukasa.

Link looked up at Sora, blinking in both confusion and curiosity.

"Ah! Sorry, sorry. I don't know why everything is spinning but it's really funny."

He giggled a bit, a wide grin on his face.

Hard to stay mad at such a happy guy. Were Sora more sober he'd be more suspicious, but taking another drink, it's easy to relax.

"You should sit down before you fall down."

Sora is great. :3

"Huh?"

Fall down? Why would he do that? That would be silly!

... But considering the floor is being mean and changing he's probably right.

"Sure. Where?"

He is a blast to play X3

"I dunno, how 'bout... over here."

Sora led Link over to a tree, sitting down at the base of it. Of course he couldn't bring a glass, but he did find a bottle. Should be plenty for the both of them, right? If Link liked sweet things, anyway.

"This is a weird place."

Link did like sweet things! He sat down next to Sora, still grinning.

"Yeah. Yeah it is. But... but I like it. It's nice here. There's a lot of nice people too."

Link would have to get his own glass if he cared about cooties then, because Sora is drinking it straight. He's not dizzy, exactly, but things seem softer now.

"Nice, huh. Tell me more."

Hard to be worse than what he left behind, but Sora wanted to know what he got into. Having a place to himself was already good, though, even if it was a bit small.

Aww. Party pooper.

"Well... there's lots of stuff I've never seen before! New food, new things to play with, new sorts of people... and there's lots of... of things you can do! I grew up in the forest so I didn't really get to see places like this... there's more people here than I ever thought could be in one place."

Now that was more like it! No more stupid vague answers, even if Sora wanted more, he had something to go on now. There should really be a tutorial for this place. Sora wondered if this wine was anything like the game items in his apartment. He certainly felt better for drinking it, even if he couldn't see his HP and MP anymore.

"Out in the country, huh. I'm from the city, myself. What's your name?"

"I'm Link. What's your name?"

If you start throwing out MMO terms he is going to be so confused, Sora.

No worry of that just yet: Sora's already got an idea of just what sort of world this is, and it sure as hell ain't online. So he's tempted to just use his real name, but. This is a fresh start. The only info anyone's gonna know about him is what he tells them, right? He can force people to see him the way he wants to be seen.

Sora grins, taking another pull of wine. Hell yes. This is gonna be awesome

"Sora. Tell me more!"

"Um... well I don't know. There's monsters here sometimes but they're not so tough. At least I haven't seen any really tough ones."

After you face down Ganondorf, a bunch of Slimes is really not that much of a deal.

Neither are they a big deal when one is level 95, assuming it translates at all. Sora perks up at the mention of monsters regardless, eyes shining with excitement.

"Monsters? Cool! I like beating those up a lot! Are they in that 13th-whatever dungeon?"

"Some of them are. Some of them start walking the streets during the thirteenth hour."

He looks determined, though it's offset by how wobbly he is. "There's too many to get into the dungeon itself though. I really wanna get in there soon."

Give Sora a minute, he's not thinking quite as sharply as normal.

"What, at... 1PM? Haha, just after lunch!"

Wait wait hold up, no dungeon yet? Link you are missing out on prime adventuring territory here. Sora is disappointed.

"Too many? Pff I could beat up them all at once. Or I could just run past them. I'm really fact!"

"No, no, after midnight."

He is and it makes him sad.

"Uh-huh. I doubt it. I couldn't take on all of them and I'm really fast and strong too."

One in the morning? Does he really have to stay up that late? Ugh, maybe some other time. When he doesn't want to go to sleep at bedtime.

"Fast? Tch, bet I'm faster!"

Sora knows a challenge when he hears one, even if he's drinking. He can't let that go!

Maybe it's the alcohol, but Link's feeling a little cocky.

"Nuh-uh. I'm the Hero of Time. I'm the best!"

Sora jumps up and only wobbles a little bit. Dang when did his knees get all soft? How much did he drink again..?

"Yeah right! I'm hella high level! We should race!"

And there Sora goes, without even waiting for Link's response. Even though he's stumbling, Sora is still quick on his feet: he'd give the Postman bunny runner guy a challenge.

"Hey!" Link jumps up after him and starts chasing him. While he's wobbling too he's used to dealing with not performing at his best, so he catches up pretty quickly.

As Link approaches, Sora laughs in delight. He really is fast! It's so much more fun when it's a real challenge, instead of outstripping your opponent in seconds. Unless they're really annoying.

Sora tries to lose Link by twisting and turning through side streets and alleyways, laughing more as he sways and almost trips. Almost, but not quite; already he's learning to adjust his balance.

He's determined to keep pace, bounding after Sora. He's not as agile, but all of the exercise he got on his adventure is helpful. He uses a wall to get his balance back and pushes off, not sure where they're going but happy nonetheless.

That'd be two of them, since Sora hasn't been around long enough to explore the whole city, let alone memory the details of the layout.

Which means that after he scurries up and over a wall, he trips and falls on his face with an "oof". He only rolls over onto his back and laughs at his mistake.

Link tries to follow him, but can't find a handhold. So he runs around, finding a hole in the wall to follow Sora. He spots him on the ground and laughs.

"Are you okay?"

"Hahaha, yeah, yeah I'm just hunky-dory!"

Sora makes no move to get up, instead just blinking, trying to get a focus on Link. He swings up an arm to point at him.

"But! But, you couldn't get up the wall, huh? I wiiiiiiin~"
