Who: Yamato Hotsuin, Ideo Hazama, and those who signed up for examinations (or who otherwise wants to get in on this if you missed it)

Summary: Those with experience regarding demons, or are demonic themselves (or perhaps just weird), being called in to allow themselves to be prodded and poked and examined.
Warnings: You'll have to suffer from Yamato and Ideo's tender mercies.

After being subjected to the curtness of the Sagittarius Labs's chou-keshin receptionist, all those that have come to their assigned appointments will find themselves shuffled into a bland looking room, with uncomfortable stiff-backed seats and glossy out of date magazines on the small coffee table. There will also be that annoying clock that ticks just a bit too loudly and slowly for one's tastes, and that heavy silence that makes you whisper when you talk to people, even though there's no reason to.

Welcome to the Waiting Room.

After waiting for a few moments (or hours, depending on how early you came, and how delayed Ideo Hazama and Yamato Hotsuin were), you will be called in by Ceu to meet with one of the young geniuses. Prepare to be poked and prodded my friends, this is what you signed up for.

[OOC: Okay so basically we decided to do a catch all examination log, for those that are interested (as I know a few are). Me and Gaa split it up between us as well, so it's easier on us, and we can share the burden of tags. Who you will get is entirely random.

Again, only those that have experience with demons/are demonic themselves/or otherwise magical in some way can take part in this log. This is for SCIENCE]

"Yes...that is something I'm most curious about," Yamato murmured thoughtfully, turning to face Shura and suddenly grasping her arm. He lifted it up, pressing his fingers against one glowing mark. He could feel the buzz of spiritual energy through the glove's fabric. "Why do they glow? They carry spiritual energy, although why it does so on the surface, and not internally, is a mystery. It also wouldn't explain why you glow. There is something causing it. Perhaps a skin sample would reveal it..."

"Uh... sure," she said, a bit taken aback by the sudden grab. "I mean, I have no idea myself why I glow, so... let's find out?"

"Yes."

Yamato ignored Shura's surprise at the sudden grab, but he released her and turned away, looking like he was consulting the pictures again. "You can put on your trousers and bra on now."

The photographs were taken, so there was no need to have her strolling about in the nude. Just access to her upper body tattoos would be enough for the next stage of the examination.

Shura was grateful for that. She quickly went back to her clothes, dressing her bottom half completely before putting her sports bra on as well, hooking it with practised hands. Once she was half dressed, she sat on the examination table again, waiting for Yamato.

Finally Yamato was satisfied and scooped the photos up into a singular pile. He set them aside for now, and turned to give Shura a long, hard stare. A skin sample...

"Do you know what a biopsy is?"

"It's when they cut out a part of you to analyze it, right?" Shura vaguely remembered this from a documentary on TV from before the world ended.

"Not always," Yamato said. "Some biopsies can be drawn through the needle, but we will be going with what you said. I will take a sample from unmarked skin, and marked skin. Do you need local anaesthesia?"

"Yeah, please. Without Masakados I'm not immune to pain." Then again if she had Masakados Yamato wouldn't be able to take his sample because she would also be immune to damage.

"Very well."

Shura had to wait for almost ten minutes while Yamato retrieved and prepared some local anaethesia. Once that was done, he turned to Shura with a small frown, tapping the side of the syringe to make certain there were no oxygen bubbles.

"Where would you prefer I take a sample from? It does not matter where."

Funny how needles seem innocuous after you've been clawed, bitten, gored, had limbs fractured and lungs punctured in the Vortex.

"The underside of my arm had plenty of unmarked skin..." The other option was her thighs, but she had just put her pants back on and didn't feel like taking them off again.

"I would prefer a spot where I can take both unmarked and marked skin," Yamato mused, grasping Shura's arm and lifting it up to inspect the underside. Well, hmm, if he injected here, then he could take samples from both the unmarked area, as well the edges of the tattoo. That was the most important part, anyway. The glowing section.

"Alright, I will inject here. There'll be a moment of pain," Yamato said, his tone bored before he injected the needle into her skin.

Shura gritted her teeth, but it wasn't nearly as bad as she recalled. It burned only for an instant before the sensation faded, leaving only numbness.

"I thought it'd be worse."

"It's just an injection," Yamato said dismissively, leaving the anaesthesia to do its thing while disposing of the used needle properly. Hazardous Waste and all that.

Alright, now time for the messy part. The biopsy. Yamato's equipment included tweezers and... a strange instrument shaped like a straw, with a sharp, scalpel like end.

"Hold up your arm like that - yes, that'll do."

Yamato pressed the sharp end against the unmarked skin first - then he twisted it. It worked like a cookie cutter, carving a small circle from the top layer of Shura's skin. The tweezers were then used to lift the cut layer of skin - safely put away in a container for things of that nature - and then repeated for the marked part of her skin.

It was basically over within five minutes.

"Wow," Shura said, looking at the two bleeding holes in her arms. "I was expecting something way worse than that. Like lifting a whole slab of skin or something."

"That is done only if I was removing a large lesion," Yamato explained, "But if we detect nothing in these samples, then I may have to take a larger sample from you that would require surgical removal. So far just the top few layers of skin will suffice... do you need me to heal that for you?"

"Oh, wait, let me..." She paused, then with a little concentration summoned her humongous Kodama, which waved its arms and cast Dia on her. Sadly, it did very little, stopping the bleeding but leaving the imprints of the biopsy clearly visible.

"Damn. Didn't know I was so terrible at healing."

Yamato tutted. "Dia is a very weak healing spell, so that is no surprise," he said, turning his attention back to the table. Hm, skin samples, physical notes, and photographs... he should get a file for this.

"Excuse me, I'll be back in a moment."

"Sure thing."

While Shura waited, she had Kodama cast Dia repeatedly on her, until the imprints were just dimples on her skin.

Yamato retrives a spare file within a few minutes, and all too soon he had the photographs and data slipped inside of it, with the skin samples and urine sample with them. He'll examine them after he was done with Shura.

"I want a blood sample now."

Shura nodded. "Take the same arm, I guess?"
