Finally it was time for the mayor, Kazuki Sakahagi, to speak up. Not even an thirty minutes left to the celebrations, but seeing him go appeared to be lighting up a spark in the citizens. It wasn't too hard to see why; his enthusiastic grin and way of walking could easily melt anyone's worry away.

He walked to the center stage as cheering broke out, two men in black and Junko Tanako behind him.

[His younger self stops in his tracks when he spots his double passing by. His grip on the Soul Eater tightens, and his jaw clenches. He's... strong.

Stronger than him.

But that doesn't mean a thing! He's not gonna let his older self snag all the glory.

So, yes. This'd be the younger Riku similarly dashing towards those stands.]

[That recklessness might very well cost you, little Riku. As soon as he nears the stands he's running towards, there's a shout from somewhere in the mob, difficult to pinpoint.]

Hyper Ankou!

[The Megidola spell will land right in front of him - so close he'll run right into the blast if he doesn't stop in time.]

Oh no, you don't!

[And for a brief second, there is a flash of blue, violet and steel before suddenly a barrier forms around both Riku's, blocking the Megidola spell's effects before shattering harmlessly with the clank of something metal as a partially armored and caped woman lands nearby, Keyblade already transfigured into a bow and light arrow shimmering in a warning. Anyone who watched the tournament would recognize the shape; it was the Connecting Bonds in Foolish Waters, come to assist her fellow master and... his younger self?

You know what, she'll just ask about it later. Right now she is in protective mother Master mode.]

Are you alright, Riku?

[Well, isn't that voice vaguely familiar.]

[Master!ku had turned just in time to a.) catch sight of the younger him and b.) throw up his own (now mastered) Dark Barrier spell in reflex when he senses the nearing impact of magic.

He lowers both his arms and the barrier when the light fades and he sees Aqua standing in between the two of them and calls-]

Fine on this end!

[-before leaping over to them, regarding his younger self with an unreadable frown.]

What are you doing here?

[He skids to a stop right in the nick of time, glancing from his double, then to Aqua. There's... definitely something familiar about her, something he just can't put his finger on. And as much as he'd love to ask about it under normal circumstances, this isn't the time nor the place.

Heaving a sigh, he mutters a quick--]

Thanks.

[But just as quickly as he stopped moving, he's slipping back into a fighting stance, fighting back the urge to roll his eyes.]

Well, I was here to watch. Now? Well, let's just say I'm not about to sit back and watch the fireworks.

[He can hero too, guys. Death is serious business, and this is his first time dealing with an actual murder situation.]

As the smoke from the Megidola clears, there's a shout. "Man, you guys are spoilsports!"

Funny, the shouter doesn't sound too frustrated. If anything he seems amused.

Should they look to the crowds where the voice is coming from they'll see him, standing calmly, even eagerly amidst the chaos, his Persona out in front of him.

"Good." She nodded to them both, before transforming her Keyblade back to its normal shape and following the voice with relative ease.

"Normally I'd ask what your definition of spoilsports is, but I think your definition of amusement says it all!"

Dude, you do not want to mess with a mama bear and her cubs, especially since one of them is fully grown and carries just as much metaphorical bite as the elder. Still, she makes no comment about the younger Riku wanting to help fight. So long as he has someone else there to make sure he doesn't die, it's fine by her.

Master!ku just snorts at the 'spoilsport' comment as he takes a step forward so that he is side by side with Aqua - that grown cub is more than ready to take on his share of the work.

He glances back at his younger self with a frown; as much as he would like to argue about his 'not sitting back', this is not the time or the place for that. Instead he calls on Highwind, sending the Komory Bat to his double with one whispered command ("Watch out for him.") before settling his full attention to the fight before him.

Though... he really can't help the amused snort that escapes him at Aqua's broadcast, nor can he quite help answering out aloud.

"You've clearly never met Jafar."

Who is definitely more a creep than Hades in Riku's book. ...Though admittedly not all that much.

[...Huh, is that one of those Personas? Briefly, he glances towards Ankou with a raised eyebrow. However, this really isn't the time to stare.

...Not that he can help it once the bat appears. Is this supposed to be an act of pity? And what good will a candy colored bat do?

Well, whatever. He'll fight first and save the questions for later.]

Look, I'm more than happy to rain on your parade. Same goes to any buddies of yours.

Anoli > Aqua (Eternal Black + Mudo Boost)

"Tch," the Anoli tosses his head carelessly.

"We'll see how long that lasts, Visitor scum," he jeered, before raising his arm dramatically pointing at Aqua, dark energy surging around him.

"Eternal Black!"

Aqua > Anoli (Navas Nebula)

...Was that a breeze? No seriously, was it? Because just like the dark orbs in the realm of Darkness she used to launch herself higher in the air simply because her heart reflects Darkness naturally, so too does her Persona negate it completely. She's simply left blinking once before twirling her blade.

"Go, Eudora!" Enjoy the magical Physical damage as the water nymph appears, casting the skill with ease.

Riku > Anoli (Double Fangs)

Darkness, huh? Well, in that case that Anoli might have met his worst possible match-up here. Master!ku frowns as he shifts just a bit to close the gap between him and Aqua - he doesn't care what his younger self thinks of it right now; he is not going to let him get hurt on his watch (whether he provokes it or not) - Keyblade high as he summons his Persona and orders it to attack.

"Shalim!"

Better to rely on this world's way of fighting for now, until most of the crowd has escaped at least.

[What's he supposed to do? He doesn't know how to summon a Persona. All he's got is his sword and whatever fighting skill he's got.

As he thinks it over, the Soul Eater trembles in his grip, and he shifts in place. With his double and Aqua standing in the way, it'll be hard to break through and fight...

But he's not going to sit there and act helpless. He has to help!]

[Yeah, he's gonna try and push his way through now.]

Evil Touch > AU1!Riku

Well shit, this was getting interesting. His posture as he looks at Aqua is maybe a touch more tense, though overall he still seems very unconcerned.

The return attacks from Aqua and Riku make him flinch, but little more than that. Aqua's not the only one who has elemental advantages on their side.

The lack of concern turns to outright amusement as the younger Riku charges forward. If the brat wanted to go mano a mano, who was he or his friends to discourage him? He pulls out a long dagger, kept well-hidden up until that point hey if the P4 cast can sneak into Junes....

He has Hyper Ankou toss an Evil Touch at the older Riku in the meantime while holding up a hand at the younger, beckoning tauntingly.

Fireworks > AU1!Aqua, AU1!Riku, OU!Riku,

"Keep your heads!" Aqua lifts her Keyblade above her head, summoning a barrage of fireworks overhead. As they explode, a strange orange magic seems to fall on her and the two Rikus before creating a magic barrier over their skin.

Master!ku can't quite help a quiet groan when his younger self pushes past him - this is just so not the time to try prove something to his ego - but before he can move to reel him back he feels status magic over him, the quite familiar state of fear settling over his mind and heart.

...He's not new to feeling fear in battle, he has before, he will again, but he has learned how to deal with it; how to push it down and make use of it by feeding it into his Darkness. This time he can't though.

It feels like confusion or sleep; a state he can't quite shake, and it makes him want to shout in frustration, except that he can't quite focus on anything but the fact that he's afraid.

...It's really ridiculous he thinks as he tries to push it away regardless and focuses on the task at hand, switching his Persona to Peepsta Hoo; it's time to get a better look on what/who they are up against.

Meanwhile, Highwind zips past Master!ku and Aqua as well - he has been given a task after all and he is not about to disappoint - stopping just beside the younger version of his owner, green eyes gleaming as he cries out and casts his spell.

[ooc: RNG said 15/100, so Fear status is on!

Also Zero Graviga = 75% chance of ending up suspended in the air and having to skip a turn (Mind)]

Quick Blitz >, Anoli, Maelstrom > Anoli

[For a few short seconds, Riku stops to watch as the Zero Gravity Spell takes hold of its target. Whether or not it succeeds, Riku will soon come charging straight at the Anoli, springing up in hopes of delivering a Quick Blitz, followed by a spinning strike from his sword.

This kind of recklessness may come back to bite him later, but for now, he's not going to let fear take hold. He has to be strong, he has to be brave. He has to prove he can do this.

So he will.]
