Finally it was time for the mayor, Kazuki Sakahagi, to speak up. Not even an thirty minutes left to the celebrations, but seeing him go appeared to be lighting up a spark in the citizens. It wasn't too hard to see why; his enthusiastic grin and way of walking could easily melt anyone's worry away.

He walked to the center stage as cheering broke out, two men in black and Junko Tanako behind him.

THREAT LEVEL RED, GORE

The instant the Anoli started attacking, Desco's eyes lit up. Literally - her red eyes are glowing subtly like a pair of banked coals as she scans the crowd.

She's not going to bother with her Persona right now - despite how cool it is, it's just a little too weak for what she wants to do. She lets out a wordless roar from all twelve of her tentacles as she lunges at the nearest Anoli, her crimson claws shearing through their throat. She brings her other arm around to cradle the back of the Anoli's head, and with an effortless little twist wrenches their skull clean off. She tosses the head over her shoulder, grabbing it by the hair with one of her smaller tentacles in order to free up her claws for the next one, already scanning the crowd for a new target.

... Well that's one way to get rid of them fast. Otoha grabs a mook by the collar and tosses him towards Desco, ignoring his screaming.

"Here!"

He's happy to provide if that's what she needs.

Desco beams happily at this. Best uncle EVER.

"Thank you, Uncle Otoha!"

She grabs the screaming Anoli by the feet with her primary tentacles and flexes them in opposite directions, tearing him in half down the middle like a paper towel. One secondary tentacle darts forward and wrenches his head off as she's doing this, and she regards the pair of skulls dangling from her other body with a critical eye as she discards the corpse before she turns back to you, smiling cheerfully.

"Desco is going to build a throne of skulls!"

... Oh. Is that what Desco is going to do? ... He can't really judge her that much, she's not human and she's not destroying humans that deserve to live, so...

He chuckles and gives her a thumbs up, before drawing his sword and slicing through another enemy.

As Desco continues her rampage, the Anoli around her freeze up in clumps and patches as her Gaze of Fear evility kicks in seemingly at random. She slowly amasses a collection of heads that dangle from her lower tentacles like grisly purses as she floats around twisting off heads, all the while chattering happily.

"Desco hasn't had so much fun in a while! But she does wonder how she's going to get all this meat off of her skulls...do you know a way, Uncle Otoha?"

We're sorry the fun police had arriv--actually not it was just the police. Officer Suou's voice cracked through their network communicators.

"Stop this right now, it's an order! No matter how many of these bastards deserve worst than death for what they're doing, I want them captured and alive! We will not stoop down to their levels!"

... Policeman why. You are the least amount of fun.

Otoha was debating how much trouble he was going to get in by disobeying the police, versus how much fun it would be to just destroy everyone in his way.

... It was a tough decision.

"With all... due respect, sir" aka the least amount of respect, "live capture isn't my specialty."

The last chief of police he met turned out to be a mikura in disguise, so on top of everything else he wasn't too eager to listen to the police.

How will she build her Skull Throne without skulls?! On the other hand, live capture meant she could finally recruit some minions. Plus it is getting kind of awkward to carry all these heads around.

She's not happy about it, mind you, but she can at least pull her punches a little bit. So for now she'll just switch over to swinging her tentacles like blunt objects at the legs of any Anoli she runs across, shattering their bones.

"Desco will leave them alive, but she had better get to sit in on the torture sessions!"

He would argue that thee wasn't an torturing done, but it wasn't important right now.

"Well start learning how to do it." If Suou was intimidated, it didn't look like it. "We don't have time to argue. Render them unable to walk if you need to, but don't take their lives."

That would be the last they would hear of him for now.

Oh good so he could still bash their knees in. He could do that.

"I doubt they're going to let you sit on on that, Desco. But we can get information out of them later. Time to cause a lot of damage."

" -- two sides to every story, they say, though it's difficult to imagine any reasonable motivations the Anoli may have behind their attack. Is it justifiable in such a situation to resort to deadly force? The average citizen, as would Hinoto-Ri law under certain conditions, would say yes, but how far is too far?"

Huddled behind an overturned seat nearby, a reporter speaks quickly and clearly into his microphone; Desco and Otoha may not be able to hear him, but it might be easier notice that they are now being trailed by a hovering camera zoomed in quite a lot on the severed heads.

"For these... defenders of the peace, no means are too far." He coughs into his fist. "Perhaps some will be quick to criticize, but let me tell you folks - it's life or death out here."

Desco's only got normal human hearing, despite the size of her ears, but when you've got seventeen eyes it's pretty easy to notice stuff, so she's just going to wave happily at the camera while she continues smashing legs.

"Uncle Otoha! We're on TV!"
