Conquestum Paradisi

Conquestum Paradisi

What: Closing Arena Ceremonies, Part 2
Where: Aries Arena & Televised
Summary: 1/24/10AC
Warnings: This could get serious...but who knows.

Finally it was time for the mayor, Kazuki Sakahagi, to speak up. Not even an thirty minutes left to the celebrations, but seeing him go appeared to be lighting up a spark in the citizens. It wasn't too hard to see why; his enthusiastic grin and way of walking could easily melt anyone's worry away.

He walked to the center stage as cheering broke out, two men in black and Junko Tanako behind him.

Re: OPEN || deaths' be doing their "job" thread || Pharos, Izanami, Death of the Endless

Death's approach to this particular task is not what most people expect. No scythes. No weapon of any sort. Just a gentle touch of a hand.

This all comes naturally to her, but it's still different than how she would choose to do it. There's a lot to do. "This is easier when I can be more than one place at a time."

Izanami did not use a weapon either. She merely passed them by, allowing her many hands to reach out in a comforting embrace as the soul was soon claimed by it. Even so, her range has been limited; she cannot reach out to as many as she could back in her own world.

"Indeed... However, this reality limits all abilities not native to its lands. It is to be expected that even we cannot reach out as well as we would like or need to." Perhaps they are lucky to even be able to do this much, she wonders as she closes another poor soul's eyes as the last of life slips from its former vessel.

Pharos used his own two hands, and nothing else as he passed through.

"That is so... Being limited like this is somewhat of a hindrance however, even if that is the price we must pay for existing in this dimension." Remarked Pharos with a faint huff as he loosened one corpse's soul from its mortal shell with pale fingers. His approach was a little different; he come for them, he reached in to extracted their souls and pulled them free as smoothly and cleanly as he could. It wasn't terribly gentle though he made the effort to make it so when he claimed them, but it worked, even he did it one by one in his small range.

"And not a hindrance I have experienced before."

He disliked it when he rushed or arrived too early. Some people hung on longer than strictly necessary.

He rounds a corner, and stops. Oh... oh geez.

He knows people die. He deals with dead people. But usually it's well AFTER the death. Seeing it actually in the PROCESS, however, is disorienting, let alone with so many death entities working at once. It's a little frightening, to be honest, even though he knows they have no interest in him.

Although... didn't he meet that kid before? He supposes that explains the lack of familiarity with snow. Sort of. Then again, being from a warmer climate would've explained that just as well without the, uh, other elements.

He looks around slightly awkwardly. "Uh... I'm just gonna... do you mind if I get through here, guys? I kinda have to... go this way... but I can totally go back the other way if I'm interrupting anything! ...um."

Calm and collected, our boy.

"I've been more limited, but usually not with this sort of work to do." Two years in Mayfield has changed her perspective on a great many thing. Who knew sleep could be so annoying.

"You can see us?"
ghost_shield: (An interesting thought)

He rubs the back of his neck. "Yeah, I can. I mean, I can see spirits, so I guess it only makes sense I see you guys going to work too. Although I haven't actually seen it BEFORE." He looks around. "At least they're going reasonably peacefully, from the looks of things."

There's a sad tone in his voice. He talks to the dead, but he still counts himself among the living. The transition must be hard on so many people who didn't expect to die as young as they did.

"Some of it's just knowing how to talk to them." Most of it, really.

She smiles. SHe should be friendly, after all. "I'm not used to anyone being able to see me when I'm working."
ghost_shield: (It's too early for this.)

[personal profile] ghost_shield 2013-01-28 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
He gulps. "Uh, if you want, I could pretend I don't see anything. Although I guess that's kind of well past at this point." He rubs the back of his neck. "Seriously, I didn't mean to walk in on you guys. It's not exactly something I can turn off. Unlike, say, my regular vision in a way." To illustrate what he means, he takes his glasses off for a bit, and squints, before putting them back on.

"No, it's fine. I don't really mind, it's just different." You really couldn't get set in your ways when you were going to be at this for all eternity.
ghost_shield: (An interesting thought)

[personal profile] ghost_shield 2013-01-29 05:56 am (UTC)(link)
"Nothing wrong with different, I guess." He looks around. "Although some things aren't different enough." He can see the souls still stuck to the notion of living, which by itself is unnerving. "Do you have any idea if there's a specific afterlife here, or is it as variable as I've heard it is?"

"What happens next was never really my domain. At home, different people went different places, but in a place like this you kinda end up making it up as you go." Speaking of different.

He blinks. "Huh. Never really thought of death improvising before. It just seems so... immutable," he replies. "The more you know, I guess."

"Sometimes you have to change or die." There's a note of sadness there. "And I only have one of those options available. So I learned to adapt."
ghost_shield: (An interesting thought)

[personal profile] ghost_shield 2013-02-02 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
He nods. "That makes enough sense, I suppose." He smiles. It's odd, for someone who represents the end of life, she's so... comfortable to be around.

Almost too comfortable, actually. Now that he thinks about it... "Ah, I should go. There's still some of the living that might need my help."

[personal profile] acapriciousthing 2013-02-02 04:51 am (UTC)(link)
SHe nods in return. It's a busy time. "Good luck out there." It's not like she actively seeks for people to fall under her domain, after all.
