[Open] A Place We Call Home
Who: Ruri/Open
Where: Can be seen from most of the city, but landing in the Capricorn Ward
Summary: The Battleships Nadesico swoops over the city and lands in the park
Warnings: Uh... Space... Battleships?
[Ruri looked over her controls, the Nadesico was operating as it should, however keeping it running completely on her own was taking its toll on the girl and she decided it was time to put the ship down. Radioing the city to warn of the event before she started to bring it down avoid as much panic as possible she let out a breath.]
"This is Ruri. I'm landing the ship in the park."
[The ship came out of the cloud bank it was hiding in and circled the city slowly twice, scanning the ground for a place that was large enough to accommodate it and wouldn't cause the citizens any worry due to a big battleship sitting there. After the second pass the ship slowly came to settle over the Capricorn Ward, in an unused field that was a ways away from the trains but not unwalkable.
The ground shaking slightly as it landed and steam belched from its exhaust ports, the ramp to the catapults opened, and then a ramp down lowered. Shortly after the small blue haired girl started down the ramp, dwarfed next to the size of the ship.]

He stared, awestruck, at the ship. The Diva may have been a big ship, but this one was bigger still and looked little like the battleships he's seen, both EFF and Vagan. It didn't take long for his curiosity to get the better of him, and so he began moving toward it, the AGE-2 walking at a steady pace.
When he got there, he saw the girl walking down the ramp, and immediately recalled his conversation with Ruri several days ago. But hey, this gave him an idea. He opened the hatch and descended via cable to the ground, waving to the girl to get her attention.
...As if an 18.3-meter tall, all-white mech wasn't a massive attention-grabber already.

Well its based off of gravity waves, if that's not a technology you have the ships would probably be rounder.
no subject
Not really? I mean, the Diva has a pair of plasma engines for propulsion, but it's not very round.

He changed course towards the only place in Hinoto-Ri a ship that big could land, the Capricorn district. This he had to see in person.
no subject
Hrm, its not optimal for emergency take off, but once I find a source of water it should be ok.
no subject
Fortunately for the Nadesico, Duo preferred a more direct approach.
"Hi, nice ship you've got there."
no subject
Thank you sir. She's not exactly designed for the park, but its the place I call home.
no subject
"She looks like she's not meant to land at all."

Is it just me or does everything here have matching colors already?Wildraubtier stands still for a moment as Latooni appraises the battleship. The shape and the energy readings she was getting were almost entirely unlike what she was used to, although she was picking up an elevated level of gravitons she was used to seeing around the Hiryu Kai.
Seeing the apparent captain of the ship on the ground, Latooni moves a bit closer to the ship and opens her cockpit, beginning the somewhat arduous process of climbing down from a giant robot when you are five foot nothing and wearing street clothes.
no subject
Do you want to bring that inside where we have proper elevators?
no subject
"Yes! Just point where I should be going."
This would be a whole lot easier with operators and standardized comm frequencies, but hopefully that can be fixed later.
no subject
I'll have Omoikane warm up the systems. All the berths are empty, its mostly automated. Just hit the red button on the elevator.

After a minimal amount of maneuvering, she's pacing the giant robot up the ramp and into the hangar bay, looking curiously and appreciatively around. This ship seemed much better-lit than what she was used to, for some reason...she does, however, notice the complete lack of a crew, and the general emptiness of the hangar.
no subject
I don't really have a crew so the ship's computer and I have been handling everything up to now. That's why putting down was so tricky.
no subject
Well, at least there's a gantry in here. Latooni shuts down the Raubtier's systems and carefully steps over to the elevator.
"Your ship's computer is very impressive if you can handle a capital ship on your own at all."
no subject
Still I can handle most of her with extreme effort, she really needs a crew to be fully functional.
