The Search for the Newcomers, December 2012 Edition.

Who: Open to Everyone, but only Newly Accepted Characters can start threads.
Where: All around the city! They appear where you want them to appear.
Summary: Newcomers arrive and by now the Government is more ready and sends everyone out to go people hunting.
Warnings: ARRIVALS. Also assume the first thread is the ones who tell you about the city, and the other tags for the character can be talking with others in the city and learning more about it.

[FOR THOSE IN THE CITY:]
They were getting much better at this, it was for certain.

Last month's initial testing of the HORUS system had worked really well. The device which allowed everyone to spot abnormalities; and now even more refined, they could hone in on newcomers at a much faster pace. The leftover energy from the travel (commonly called Magatama Residue) gave them a few minutes to find them before it would flicker out.

Combined with the fact they could appear in most parts of the city, it made finding the newcomers was both easy yet frustratingly difficult.

As the blips appear on your own radar function, it was also nice enough to calculate for you the best transport and destination routes to take to get there. Speed was of the essence, after all.

[FOR THOSE WHO JUST ARRIVED:]
You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

[OOC: As stated above, only new characters can start a thread, but feel free to jump in any of them. characters arrive with their clothing and whatever items they had on them the moment they were taken; the remaining items will be later found in their apartments.]

She frowns. Yes, she is a bit off. The original, maybe? "Maybe the meeting hasn't happened for you. The universe is a funny place. But a subconcious connection. That's... interesting."

"Time travel then? Temporal mechanics are always so bothersome."

Ruri lets out a small sigh and shakes her head a bit.

"Something like that. We knew Mayfield was a bit... divergent." Ruri would take it all in stride, of course. Bothersome was one way of putting it.

"Mayfield? I don't think I've ever been there, is it a station or somewhere on this Earth?"

[acapriciousthing]

"It was a simulation. I'm still not sure where the outside world was. But there was a Ruri there. A bit older than you." She says it all very calmly. That part, at least, was a familiar sort of weird.

[electricyousei]

"Its possible, I've done a lot of computer work and was famous enough back home that there were several avatars using my face."

Ruri shrugs a little bit.

"That might be it." But of course, that isn't really the question of the hour. "Where is this, anyway?"

[electricyousei]

"Its in Japan, I can pull up a full Satellite view, but its not one of mine so I can't guarantee its accuracy. That and I haven't had enough crew to do much searching save for the immediate city area."

[bread_goes_bip]

"Hmm, definitely different from the Japan I know..." Not that it was entirely surprising. She hadn't really expected to end up somewhere she recognized after being pulled beyond her own control.

"Oh? You look Caucasian, did you do business in Japan?"

"That's one way of putting it..." It was usually business when she went anywhere, after all. "But I'm not actually human."

[electricyousei]

"There do seem to be several aliens and magical beings here as well. I know of an angel, and a goddess who hates people, so that's not too odd."

[acapriciousthing]

She smiles. "Well, good to know I'm not alone on that front. But I suppose I have you at a disadvantage."

She holds out a hand. "I'm Death. Didi, if you prefer." Ruri hadn't, before, but it was still polite to offer the option.

Ruri just stares at her, blinking occasionally. Her face is deadpan but its obvious that she's trying to process all of this.

".....Death."

"Yes." She got this a lot. But it was what it was.

[electricyousei]

"....Ar Akito and Yurika with you?"

[acapriciousthing]

SHe really does wish she had a better answer. "The universe I'm responsible for isn't the same one you came from, I'm afraid."

[electricyousei]

"I see. Are you here for someone then, or just taken along for the ride like the rest of us?"

[acapriciousthing]

"Caught up in it like everyone else." You'd think that would get easier. It hasn't, really.

[electricyousei]

"I see."

Ruri ponders for a minute and looks up at her.

"Well, I can really only offer information and my data is incomplete at best but I can try to fill in any gaps in what you were told."

[acapriciousthing]

"I haven't really been told anything yet, you're the first person I've spoken to." Somehow, it was more straightforward to wake up in bed with a skeleton wearing pajamas.

[electricyousei]

"I see. From what little information I've gathered there was some sort of crisis that resulted in most of Earth suffering from some horrible calamity. I haven't had time to research that much. This place is one of the few remaining cities and two supernatural forces, representing order and chaos are fighting over it. Or something. Its all rather out of my area of expertise so I've just been trying to gather any data I could."

"It sounds like the sort of thing I usually make a point of staying out of." It wouldn't do for an aspect of the universe itself to take a side in most conflicts.

[electricyousei]

"No I suppose not. I'm just trying to figure this out myself, as absolutes of anything never are good."

[acapriciousthing]

"If you've realized that much, you're doing pretty well." Not that she blames mortals. They have a very different perspective, after all.
