WINE PARTY EVENT
Who: EVERYONE IN HINOTO-RI
Where: The Square in Scorpio Ward
When: Begins 00:00 New Years!
Summary: Anant and his Persona Dionysus throw a wine party! Mingle, have fun, and watch out for the drinks, some of them are spiked...
Warnings: Alcohol, so expect some silliness in this log. All of the silliness.
It began entirely by accident, really.
Anant had learned that one celebrated the turning of the New Year - a novel experience, really! A world that didn't stand still, that had the cycle of night and day, and the turning of the seasons; the thought of beginning time anew was something beautiful and magnificent to the deluded god. No wonder humans would celebrate such an event!
Dionysus had suggested that perhaps wine would be the best thing to toast the New Year with - and, of course, it would be best to celebrate it where the moon was high in the sky and the stars in view. Atmosphere was just as important! Their quest took them to the square in the Scorpio Ward, nicely fixed up from a past event (something about scorpions, they didn't pry). Anant, of course, brought their own table.
Dionysus supplied the wine, Anant pushed it upon those who were passing by at the time, and soon a crowd began to gather. It started small, but Anant's bubbly personality, delicious wine, and the lighthearted atmosphere drew more and more Hinoto-Ri natives to the scene, and eventually, some of the new arrivals. By the time the clock struck midnight, on the New Years, a large impromptu party had taken over the square!
The free alcohol was possibly the cause of it, but so long as everyone was happy and having fun, why should Anant object to such a thing! To observe such a large congregation of people together - it was magical! Fantastical!
Devious.
It was just past half past twelve in the morning when the 'effect's began appearing. But what did one expect, accepting alcohol from the God of Lunacy? With the moon so high on the sky, washing down on the people below, on such a jovial occasion, how couldn't Dionysus splash a bit of mischief in there?
So have fun, my fellow inhabitants. This night will surely be memorable...
[OOC: Sorry for the tl;dr! Alrighty, so everyone can mingle and do as they please in the comments! You do not have to know Anant to log in - you don't even have to interact with them! Just do your own thing and have fun!
For the list of effects that can occur, click here! You can mix and match, stick with one, or not pick any at all if you want!

She also tended to keep an eye out for the wall flower type. After all, they were often just a bit shy, that was all. "What are you drawing?"

He glanced back to the book in his lap. It wasn't as though he was exactly guarding it; if she took a peek, she could tell he'd been drawing some of the random people at the party, perhaps be able to pick out some of the individuals. He was good at it, even with just a pencil. He looked back up to her, putting on a little smile more. "I felt like practicing again, is all."

She glaces at the sketchbook. "And those are really nice." Much better than Destruction's efforts tended to be. Not that she'd ever say that to his face.

Perhaps more interesting to her were the layout notes for displays of some sort, perhaps a museum. There were sketches of what looked like monsters, but the consistency with which they were drawn -- either he'd been drawing from observation, or he was just that good, down to the fur details of a hulking creature with large batwing-like ears and a vicious snarl. Images of humans dressed in wildly different styles of clothing, from nearly Egyptian, to simple but vaguely modern, not too much unlike what he currently wore, himself.
And images of men who plainly weren't human, with hands similar to his own, and pointed ears that were nowhere near as long, facial features slightly exaggerated. All with cloven feet of two large, clawed toes, but vastly different personalities, if their stances and expressions were any indication. Two of them, he'd paid special attention to -- one with chin-length hair swept back, a pretty, round face, and a patient, thoughtful look, and one with long bangs and a short ponytail behind his neck, looking full of himself with a subtle smirk and self-assured posture...
...actually, the latter looked vaguely related to Avitus, somehow, apparent species differences aside.
The other drawings were of others of his own kind, and humans -- all of them working together, or maybe sparring, but nowhere in the pictures was there indication that his kind were on anything but good terms, perhaps even living together. The styles of human clothes were medieval, or a bit past that, with long dresses on the women and the men mostly wearing armor of some kind... and the bird-like people... funny enough, there were no females shown, only men, or at least it looked that way. They all had the same subtle prettiness to them that seemed to hint back to the features of the smug character, arched eyebrows, or similar cheeks, or something... extended family? But they almost all wore light armor, at least for pants. A few didn't, but their wings were fully feathered, like Avitus's, rather than showing batlike ends after the feathers ended a little prematurely down the wings' lengths.
And then toward the end of what pages were used, were his sketches of Hinoto-Ri, the buildings and the clothes in the stores, and the people.... and then sketches of people there at the party. Maybe she'd even find a picture of herself in there?
Avitus sat quietly, playing with his pencil as she looked through the book, glancing over at the pages once in a while himself, wondering what of it might catch her eye, or if she had questions about it, or... well, he wasn't used to letting others look through his sketchbooks. He hadn't any problem with it, he just wasn't sure what to do while they did.
((TL;DR: there's STUFF in his book. lots of STUFF. and I actually have or can find caps of most of it from the games, or pics of most of the characters, etc, if you'd like. */fangirl*))

It could be imagination, of course. But the last few she actually does recognize. "Looks like you're quite the traveller."

She knew his name. His name was easy.
giggling so much.
...
All right, so maybe it wasn't so odd. Just a little more... straightforward. And it wasn't like he hadn't heard the hunters and guards referring to their weapons as friends before anyway, so....
Nouns are fuuuuun
especially when there's language confusion! :D ...and cultural/societal/etc confusion to boot.
still thinks digital watches are pretty neathadn't heard of chocolate before coming here. But she kept a skeleton? Well, there were stranger things to consider friends. He knew one of their own hunters in particular was known for talking to his halberd. And then insisting that it spoke back to him.
Maybe it was no wonder that she felt silly about it?
"Oh. ...I take it that it isn't a human skeleton, if it's seven feet tall, then? I haven't seen a human of that height before...."

"If the two of you are ideas given form... and he's the idea of death... then... what idea might you be?"

Absently, he peeked back down to his sketchbook, and ran a nail from the binding on the top, into the book itself, finding a new blank page that way, smoothing the paper out with his fingers.
