Who: Yamato Hotsuin, Ideo Hazama, and those who signed up for examinations (or who otherwise wants to get in on this if you missed it)
Where: Ideo's Swank Bachelor Pad For Two (And His Sister) Sagittarius Labs
Summary: Those with experience regarding demons, or are demonic themselves (or perhaps just weird), being called in to allow themselves to be prodded and poked and examined.
Warnings: You'll have to suffer from Yamato and Ideo's tender mercies.

After being subjected to the curtness of the Sagittarius Labs's chou-keshin receptionist, all those that have come to their assigned appointments will find themselves shuffled into a bland looking room, with uncomfortable stiff-backed seats and glossy out of date magazines on the small coffee table. There will also be that annoying clock that ticks just a bit too loudly and slowly for one's tastes, and that heavy silence that makes you whisper when you talk to people, even though there's no reason to.

Welcome to the Waiting Room.

After waiting for a few moments (or hours, depending on how early you came, and how delayed Ideo Hazama and Yamato Hotsuin were), you will be called in by Ceu to meet with one of the young geniuses. Prepare to be poked and prodded my friends, this is what you signed up for.

[OOC: Okay so basically we decided to do a catch all examination log, for those that are interested (as I know a few are). Me and Gaa split it up between us as well, so it's easier on us, and we can share the burden of tags. Who you will get is entirely random.

Again, only those that have experience with demons/are demonic themselves/or otherwise magical in some way can take part in this log. This is for SCIENCE]

"Mmhmm..." Yamato hummed, obviously only half listening. He made her hold her breath for over a minute, until her heart began to quicken its pace to accommodate the lack of oxygen in the blood. Finally...

"Now let it out."

Shura exhaled quickly and caught her breath just as fast, her breathing and heart rate returning to their normal values.

"By the way, I saw you and Ideo teasing each other on the network. What's with the Couch Empress thing?"

Yamato twitched, the diaphragm of the stethoscope slipping over Shura's ribs slightly. "It - is something to tease me with, that's all," he said gruffly, pulling away and tugging the stethoscope down to rest around neck. He picked up the clipboard then, scribbling the results down on it.

"...how much did you see?"

"Everything that was not locked, because I'm guessing there's more." She smiled a bit. "Are you... y'know. Getting together?" She's just happy for you, Yamato. Either you have a boyfriend or a close friend, but either is good in her eyes.

Yamato looked a bit disgruntled - not exactly flustered, although it was clear he wasn't entirely comfortable with the question.

"...does it matter? I don't see how my relationship with Ideo is any of your concern," he said defensively, scribbling a bit harder on the clipboard. "It will not interfere with our quality of work, I assure you."

"... I guess it doesn't really matter, but, I am your friend, so I just..." She scratched the back of her head. "I'm happy you've made a friend, no matter how close you two actually are."

Yamato sighed and set down his pen suddenly, straightening up with a frown. "...we're just friends," he said. Yes, there were obvious signs of attraction between them - Ideo was attracted to his 'confidence', apparently, and Yamato was just simply fascinated by Ideo's skill and intelligence. In the rush of the moment, Yamato had been swept up by the surprise of the revelation, but after some thinking, he was certain that friends were all they are.

He would prefer to keep a level of distance between himself and Ideo regarding that, in any case. For now at least. He was still somewhat sore over Kaito's rejection, and that was a ball of confusing emotions he didn't want to deal with ever. Getting attached to people never really ended well for him anyway, and although the few friendships he made here hadn't blew up in his face yet...

Yamato brushed the doubtful mood aside, pulling open a drawer.

"A urine test now."

Shura nodded. "Just friends." Hey, just friends worked too. She was just happy to see Yamato open up to people more

She took the little sample container for her urine when Yamato gave it to her. "Where's the bathroom?"

Yamato frowned a little, about to tell her that she could simply pee right there and that he'd turn around if she was shy, but he remembered that it was perhaps a bit more difficult for a woman to pee into a cup than a man.

"Just that door there," he said, pointing to the small, near invisible door wedged into the far corner. It was a very tiny bathroom, but it was there so that they could quickly relieve themselves and get back to their work without much time being spent walking to and from the bathroom.

No offence Yamato, but she wasn't about to pee where you could see so easily. That bathroom would do nicely though.

"Thanks." She hopped off the table with the sample cup and quickly made her way to the tiny bathroom. It was a little cramped, but there was a real Western toilet in there.

Once the sample was collected and she had relieved herself as well, she returned and handed the closed cup to Yamato. "Here you go."

Yamato took the cup without hesitation, scribbling some initals and numbers onto the paper sticky on its side, and set it down onto the counter to be examined later. He still needed to collect her blood, but that could be done last.

Right, so he had his superficial data, now onto the meat of the matter.

"With that out of the way, let's get down to the interesting part," Yamato said. "Your markings and horn. We can examine those in more detail. I'll also need some photographs of your markings..."

Yup, photos of you naked, Shura. Hope you don't mind.

Well. It is for science. To be truly honest, Shura herself was curious about what she had become and how she actually worked.

"As long as I don't find the photos on the network later," she said with a wink.

Yamato frowned at her. "What a base suspicion. These will only be used for your file. I won't distribute them to the public."

It seemed he took that seriously. He shrugged it off though, moving away to collect a polaroid camera. It was used for taking quick instant pictures, because sometimes you didn't have the time to perfect line up your shot and then print it off through the computer.

"We'll begin fullbody shots - front and back, them move to focus on certain points. The hands, limbs, the horn, face, upper torso, lower torso, feet; perhaps one taken in complete darkness to see the extent of the glow...so stand up straight and keep your arms against your sides, but don't hide them."

"I was kidding, Yamato." She would never suspect Yamato of all people of distributing naked photos of her.

She took the simple pose for him, standing up straight, on both feet, hands at her sides, waiting.

Once these photos were taken, front and back, she opened her hands for him to photograph, her fingers splayed, showing off the pattern on her fingers and the pearls of enlightenment on her palms. Then came the horn, from all sides, and her face, eyes open and closed, showing that the markings did extend over her eyelids. Then, a closeup of her chest, showing a hint of nipple hidden in the black, and her muscled abdomen with the big motif on it, and then her feet, top and sole, showing the replication of the pattern on her hand, compressed and stretched to fit over the very different anatomy, and the pearls under her heels. Finally, some photos of her whole body in the dark, showing an alien silhouette of straight and curved lines, shining enough to reflect off the dull metal of the table. These were the ones Shura most wanted to see for herself, to see how she looked to other demons in the dark.

"Well, it's finally done," Yamato said, having a hefty pile of photographs to be contemplated over later. He had been worried he was going to run out of polaroids, to be honest.

He set the camera down, and looked over at the photographs on the table. They were all laid out for him and Shura to see, sharply in focus and professional looking. It was good to have references to Shura's tattoos on hands, especially if meanings were hidden in the markings. Why do they look the way they do? What purpose did they serve? That's what they were going to find out.

"You may look at them if you want," Yamato offered, able to see Shura's curiosity. "Just don't touch them. You'll smudge them otherwise."

That's what happens when you undertake such a big photography project :D

Shura came closer to look, examining the photos for a good minute before smiling a bit. "Wow," she said, almost to herself, "I look really fearsome. Especially in the dark." Now if her markings didn't turn red when she was injured...

"Yes...that is something I'm most curious about," Yamato murmured thoughtfully, turning to face Shura and suddenly grasping her arm. He lifted it up, pressing his fingers against one glowing mark. He could feel the buzz of spiritual energy through the glove's fabric. "Why do they glow? They carry spiritual energy, although why it does so on the surface, and not internally, is a mystery. It also wouldn't explain why you glow. There is something causing it. Perhaps a skin sample would reveal it..."

"Uh... sure," she said, a bit taken aback by the sudden grab. "I mean, I have no idea myself why I glow, so... let's find out?"

[drakenguard]

"Yes."

Yamato ignored Shura's surprise at the sudden grab, but he released her and turned away, looking like he was consulting the pictures again. "You can put on your trousers and bra on now."

The photographs were taken, so there was no need to have her strolling about in the nude. Just access to her upper body tattoos would be enough for the next stage of the examination.

Shura was grateful for that. She quickly went back to her clothes, dressing her bottom half completely before putting her sports bra on as well, hooking it with practised hands. Once she was half dressed, she sat on the examination table again, waiting for Yamato.

Finally Yamato was satisfied and scooped the photos up into a singular pile. He set them aside for now, and turned to give Shura a long, hard stare. A skin sample...

"Do you know what a biopsy is?"

"It's when they cut out a part of you to analyze it, right?" Shura vaguely remembered this from a documentary on TV from before the world ended.

[drakenguard]

"Not always," Yamato said. "Some biopsies can be drawn through the needle, but we will be going with what you said. I will take a sample from unmarked skin, and marked skin. Do you need local anaesthesia?"

[demifemme]

"Yeah, please. Without Masakados I'm not immune to pain." Then again if she had Masakados Yamato wouldn't be able to take his sample because she would also be immune to damage.

"Very well."

Shura had to wait for almost ten minutes while Yamato retrieved and prepared some local anaethesia. Once that was done, he turned to Shura with a small frown, tapping the side of the syringe to make certain there were no oxygen bubbles.

"Where would you prefer I take a sample from? It does not matter where."
