The 13th Hour - GENERAL LOG

The 13th Hour

Who: Anyone
Where: The entire city
When: This week
Summary: This is a General 13th hour log.
Warnings: That depends who is there
Music: This

When it is darkest, men see the stars...
The snow was falling softly in the night sky when the heavens turned red again. The nearly black sphere of the upcoming new moon meant the monster population wasn't overly aggressive and the creatures wouldn't offer much challenge....

...or that's what was supposed to happen.

That night, there was a strange pull. The demons had acted odd that day, but even when asked, they were unsure why. To keep the population safe, the mayor had asked the city to stay inside that night and let the city police and visitors do their job.

It was a good thing he had. As the first minute of the 13th hour continued, something happened...the signature tail in the sky of something appearing, much like when the Guests had shown up. Only this time it was hundred of such little signals. The sky was filled with them, and people were ushered inside buildings as much as possible. Something was wrong.

Something was very wrong.

New creatures began to move around the city. For some, it would be creatures they might have wanted to forget. Yet for others, this would soon be forgotten when not flesh but stone, rock and metal, rose from the very ground, pieces of their homeworld reborn in Hinoto-Ri...

Extra Long OOC Blurb
[(Make sure you read it!)

Alright 13th hour post!

This will be up to you on what you want to do; start a new post where you can character's name and OPEN and write the days they'll be wandering during the 13th hour. Join other people's post, do some exploration, post them fighting monsters and just have some fun leveling up / interacting! For this log only You can level a persona twice meaning if they are used in a post with one group and in a post with another group, you can level up your persona twice. The conditions is that the fighting must happen on two different days. You can do this with only one persona, however.

For the buildings, each one gets its own thread. The original owners who submitted will be the first to see them, due to a strange pull that made they feel like they NEEDED to go to that area. What they do with this information is up to them; they can contact others in their group, start exploring by themselves or allow the thread to be open for others to come in with them...it's all up to you. That next morning, the government will be coming over to analyze them (that will be done offscreen, however).

FOR THE CREATURES 1) The creatures have to be in the Beastary for you to use them. You don't need to use creatures from your own home worlds either, as long as someone's put in a creature in there! No boss characters that night, since it isn't a full moon. Also make sure your characters could logically take onthe creatures you pick let's not have them take down a giant tree when they couldn't normally.]

There it was, just like he remembered: the Hüell Granz Cathedral. Sora couldn't help but look behind him, wondering if there was any way to hack into the Twilight Eye, and where that red Chaos Gate would teleport him to.

Right now though, Sora was draw in to the church itself, slowly walking toward the doors instead of his usual hop, skip, and jump. The doors stood partly open as always, and inside... Inside was the same as he was expecting. The neat row of pews, the floor polished to a perfect reflection, the four pendulums swinging out time from the ceiling. Almost reverently, Sora walked to the alter, his soft-soled boots making quiet thuds on the stone.

There was no statue of that girl, the Key: Aura. The chains remained, as did the text on the alter: "Skeith", "Innis", "Magus". Sora shuddered at the names, but other than that, it was a peaceful place. Maybe it was the familiarity, maybe it was how the stained glass made the moonlight such beautiful colors, but the whole place was calming.

Sora sat on a pew in the first row, scuffing his feet and lost in thought.
virtualbirdwatching: (hurt feelings held captive in the night)

[personal profile] virtualbirdwatching 2013-01-08 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
Sora might hear the clacking of someone else's shoes on the floor soon.

She had wandered into the Aries district after leaving the sudden, impossible building that was her guild's Area... only to find another place she had known only from The World. Too curious about this development, she found a small boat and slowly made her way over to the cathedral.

The altar was empty, but unlike the last time she'd seen it, the distinctive triangle-shaped scar etched into it was missing. It seems that it was taken from before 'Tri-Edge' had made it.

And the name, Innis. Her Persona's name. Could she really be called a regular player of 'The World' after such a discovery?

She had the desire to be alone with her thoughts for now, but it may not be.
unohana_hat: (You shouldn't have done that)

[personal profile] unohana_hat 2013-01-08 06:17 am (UTC)(link)
Sora didn't move as the other person walked to the alter, reading it. Did she not notice him? Or maybe...

"This place isn't complete. There should be a statue there."
virtualbirdwatching: (the mirage of deceit)

[personal profile] virtualbirdwatching 2013-01-08 06:48 am (UTC)(link)
She whipped around to see who else had made their way here.

"I've never seen it, but I did hear there used to be one. But there's something missing from the last time I saw it, too."
unohana_hat: (Check out my Gendou impression)

[personal profile] unohana_hat 2013-01-08 06:54 am (UTC)(link)
Huh. Had she known The World too? Must've been from the same corner of the multiverse as Sora. Definitely not Elk unless the PC was edited... Could be Atoli or that other person who gave him info. Mia. No, Mia was from his time, unless Aromatic Grass carried over.

"It's new to me, Atoli~"
virtualbirdwatching: (i still want to believe you will return)

[personal profile] virtualbirdwatching 2013-01-08 07:03 am (UTC)(link)
This must have been that person, then. The post's ID had said his name was 'Sora', but he was probably using his PC's name like she was. But something else about him was familiar to her.

"Someone called 'Tri-Edge' made a scar on the front of this pedestal, and there are similar ones in different areas across The World. But it's not here.

You're Sora, aren't you?"
unohana_hat: (TA-DAAA~!)

[personal profile] unohana_hat 2013-01-08 07:23 am (UTC)(link)
Sora smiled, then hopped to his feet to take a bounce and then forward flip onto the railing between the altar and the rest of the sanctuary, striking a pose.

"Ta-dah~ That's me!"

He dropped his arms to fold his hands behind his back, walking along the top of the rail. Normally he'd never be able to do these stunts, but his body knew the moves better than he did, so it was just a matter of muscle memory. He glanced at the altar, the words as visible as ever.

"Did they now? Had to be some hacker to mark this place."
virtualbirdwatching: (trapped inside this cage made of glass)

[personal profile] virtualbirdwatching 2013-01-08 07:30 am (UTC)(link)
"To be honest, he's still a mystery to me. Haseo's been after him for a long time, since he's also a famous PK...

but really it's because of Shino," she continued, a slight venom creeping into her voice.
unohana_hat: (Total Nonchalance)

sora u jerk

[personal profile] unohana_hat 2013-01-08 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
Uh-oh, this Haseo guy's got himself some drama with his friends. What kind of jealousy, though? Atoli strikes Sora as a teenager, so probably romantic. Sora picks up the hint, still walking from metal point to point.

"And Haseo is a PKK. Did Tri-Edge take out his girlfriend? That's the sort of complaint I get allll the time~"

Okay he can't resist poking the hornet nest a little. Besides, Sora doesn't think that a regular player like Atoli could tell him much about the "hacker". Not even Helba could mar this place, so what the hell was that Tri-guy? He could only pick her brain and theorize.

Re: OPEN [3/3]

Shinjiro thinks he recognizes the man's voice when he passes through the Aries ward, walking along the waterfront, looking, searching for any building or piece of home he might recognize. Hearing Sora's voice makes him slow to a stop just a short distance away—close enough to observe, but far enough away not to startle. He listens as Sora talks to some demon Shinjiro doesn't recognize. A deal is made, and he watches the dragon-turtle thing take Sora across the water, towards a cathedral in the middle of the water that certainly hadn't been there the last Shinjiro checked—he has a pretty damn good memory, if nothing else.

Shinjiro debates about leaving the area at first, letting Sora be and leaving him to his own devices, but then he remembers a few things he never really forgot in the first place. He had been scared, hadn't he? Panicked. The Velvet Room hadn't appeared yet, so that meant Sora was without a Persona to use—at least, not one he'd use willingly. And he shouldn't have to use it, but it is stupid thing to be out in the Dark Hour without one, even on a day like this. Unless, of course, Sora had powers Shinjiro didn't know of that could dispatch things effectively enough. Sora hadn't seemed afraid of the demon, certainly, so that suggested a certain familiarity to things that shouldn't be part of any normal mans reality, but that didn't mean shit in the end. Could just be he had been in this world long enough, or something else entirely, like overconfidence. ...Shinjiro wouldn't be surprised if Sora had that, even if it was more of a mask than real confidence.

And, really, Sora could probably handle himself. Sora's business isn't his. He can do whatever he goddamn wants. Go type and annoy people in that damn computer talk that's hard to read. Shinjiro's not his keeper or babysitter; nevertheless, Shinjiro finds himself following Sora anyway. He approaches the water not long afterward and makes a deal with the demon once he returns. The demon certainly seems amiable enough to it, which isn't a surprise, as not all demons were hostile. Shinjiro might not have any alcohol on him, but the promise of triple the usual payment later is enough, and is something Shinjiro will make good on one way or another.

So Shinjiro finds himself on the small island—hardly really an island, really. Just a floating cathedral on the water than a goddamn island given how small it is, but that's semantics. When he arrives, it's not Shinjiro's intention to be noticed like he's trying to make some fancy entrance, but there's not really any place for Shinjiro to go but inside, unless he wanted to stay and hang around outside in the chilly night air like some stone sentinel.

He doesn't.

And in any case, there's a part of him that's curious. Shinjiro might not be a Christian in the sense that many are, but he knows of heaven and God well enough to want to believe and not believe, and there's a certain, lonely peace to the cathedral anyway that Shinjiro's drawn to.

So he enters inside, his grey eyes drifting along the pews, up along the tall ceilings and across the stained glass that lets moonlight filter in, but for all his eyes do, his voice is opposite, adhering to complete silence.

No reason to talk, anyway.

Funny thing about that gleaming floor. Unless your shoes had soft soles, like his, then footsteps just echoed through the whole sanctuary. If Shinjiro was trying to make a stealthy entrance, the church thwarted that plan. Sora didn't turn back to look who was approaching. Had this been The World, he'd swing his third-person camera around to find out who it was. Even though most people knew about the camera and used it, it looked cool to identify and talk to someone without looking.

Oh well. Sora could work with a handicap. Sora leaned back, looking toward the arched ceiling as he spoke.

"Nice place, isn't it? Didn't expect it to follow me here."

Silence wasn't really his style, and now he could figure out who the other was while still looking cool.

[personal profile] themortalhalf 2013-01-10 08:54 am (UTC)(link)
His boots certainly are neither, and he had abandoned all possibility entering in quietly once his heels touched the cathedral's floor.

Not like there are any places to hide.

He considers the statement for a moment, not really bothered if Sora recognizes his voice or not as he answers. If Sora ended up being annoyed by his presence—like he had some dignity to protect and Shinjiro was eroding it by existing—he'd leave. Simple enough. "From your world then?" Which is more of a repetition of fact than it is an actual question, considering the answer is obvious. "The city sure picked a shitty place to put it."

unohana_hat: (So what d'ya think?)

[personal profile] unohana_hat 2013-01-10 09:07 am (UTC)(link)
"Shittier," Sora revels for a moment in childish glee at being able to swear without reprimand, "Shittier if the whole field was left intact. In the game you teleported directly onto that bridge outside, and the cathedral was in the middle of a huge dry lake."

Sora turned to see that it was that guy on net that heard his breakdown. Well, as long as he wasn't an asshole about it, Sora was perfectly happy pretending that part of the conversation didn't happen. Anyway, being alone in a church at night was boring for too long, so he appreciated the company. So he gestured Shinjiro over, digging through the bag he brought to pull out a couple yellow-wrapped candies, holding one out to him.

"Here, wanna try one? These were treasures in my game, but I got a bunch of them when I came here."
themortalhalf: (Default)

[personal profile] themortalhalf 2013-01-11 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
"'The game?'" This church had been a part of a game? Shinjiro frowns—maybe that's what he called the world he was from?—and walks over to where Sora is sitting. He doesn't quite sit down yet, eyes still roaming around the cathedral, but, after a moment of pause, he takes the candy offered him. When was the last time he ate candy? "Tch. How literal are you being?"
unohana_hat: (Don't worry about it~)

[personal profile] unohana_hat 2013-01-11 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
"Very! There's a MMO called The World that's suuuuper popular back home!"

But how much to tell? Too late to pretend this is his true body, but even when he wasn't dimension hopping people assumed he was just an annoying adult. There was no reason to make a crappy lie anymore. Sora tapped himself on the forehead, then brought out a katar from its mounted sheath with a shnk.

"This is all from the game too. Weird, huh? Better suited to this place with monsters, so I'm not complaining~"

He withdrew his weapon. Didn't want Shinjiro to think Sora was threatening him.
themortalhalf: ([Star] ♞ maybe one will look on down)

[personal profile] themortalhalf 2013-01-16 07:20 am (UTC)(link)
Well.

That's some weird shit.

He doesn't know why the hell this place would pull places from a video game and drop them here with a more realistic coat of paint, but there's plenty of things about this place that Shinjiro won't pretend to know or understand. He then wonders how old this kid is behind his not-so-electronic mask, but it's not his business to question, so he won't. He's not Sora's parent or keeper. He shifts in place, putting weight onto his other leg, and if he had felt threatened from Sora's show of steel, he doesn't show it.

"I don't play video games, but I wouldn't start treating this place like another one."
unohana_hat: (But Moooooom!)

[personal profile] unohana_hat 2013-01-16 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
"Duh, I know that! I can't PK anyone because that'd be real death, not just a reset."

Yeah, Sora liked playing a killer online, but he wasn't actually murderous. That was illegal and wrong and scary. Even when he was trapped in The World and the consequences were less a slap on the wrist, he still didn't die. Real death is too scary to treat lightly, and that hasn't changed with his new deadliness.

"I'm not gonna do anything really dangerous. I'll run away first. I'm super fast!~"

Lev had spotted the cathedral, and found a boat he could use to get to the island. It took him a while, but he managed to dock softly on the edge of the island and tie off his boat. He entered the cathedral, a little reverently, and summoned Zadkiel to walk beside him. The sound of the boy's shoes echoed a bit, despite his attempts to keep it quiet.

[personal profile] unohana_hat 2013-01-13 10:14 am (UTC)(link)
The echoes are useful for knowing when others enter. What Sora wasn't ecpecting, however, is for a Persona to be out at the same time. Sure, some Visitors had their Personae out, but somehow he didn't expect the same here.

"Hey." Sora said, wondering what the other kid was up to. This place was tricky to get to, so there must be some deliberate reason, even if it's only strong curiosity.
not_a_leviathan: (pic#5174607)

[personal profile] not_a_leviathan 2013-01-14 12:19 pm (UTC)(link)
"... Oh."

His voice went a little soft, at seeing someone else here. "I didn't mean to interrupt..."

Lev slid into a pew in the second row, letting Zadkiel vanish now that he was pretty sure there were no monsters here. He wished he had his Bible with him, but he'd left everything behind, whether it was destroyed in the explosion or left at the Cavenaugh Mansion.

He'd been lax in praying, so he tilted his head up for a moment to murmur the Lord's Prayer to himself quietly.

... Once he was done, he looked back at Sora.
unohana_hat: (Total Nonchalance)

[personal profile] unohana_hat 2013-01-15 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
Huh, a Christian. Sora didn't recognize all of the prayer, but he knew the first couple lines well enough to identify it, at least. He thought about telling the guy that this wasn't really a Christian church, but that probably didn't matter, he thought.

"You're not interrupting. Call it nostalgia."

Didn't have to pray to find peace in a church.
not_a_leviathan: (pic#4752874)

[personal profile] not_a_leviathan 2013-01-16 01:35 pm (UTC)(link)
It was a church, and more of one than the shrines he'd seen every so often. It just felt right to pray here... he'd have to find a way to get here more easily.

"Is this place from your world?" He couldn't think of any other reason why it would be nostalgic...
unohana_hat: (Kickin' back)

[personal profile] unohana_hat 2013-01-16 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yes... and no."

Hopefully this guy knew something of technology, even something simple as an atari or whatever. Didn't seem like he was interrupting the guy either, so that was something.

"This place is from a game in my world."
not_a_leviathan: (pic#4752879)

[personal profile] not_a_leviathan 2013-01-17 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
He knew video games, but he hadn't really played that many himself. "... Weird. Why would they bring something from a game here?"
unohana_hat: (You shouldn't have done that)

[personal profile] unohana_hat 2013-01-18 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm, just how much to tell? Shinjiro already knew that Sora was using his PC, but should he spread just how cataclysmic The World almost ended up being? Maybe...

"Have you ever heard of the phrase, 'ghost in the machine'?"
