When it is darkest, men see the stars...

The snow was falling softly in the night sky when the heavens turned red again. The nearly black sphere of the upcoming new moon meant the monster population wasn't overly aggressive and the creatures wouldn't offer much challenge....

...or that's what was supposed to happen.

That night, there was a strange pull. The demons had acted odd that day, but even when asked, they were unsure why. To keep the population safe, the mayor had asked the city to stay inside that night and let the city police and visitors do their job.

It was a good thing he had. As the first minute of the 13th hour continued, something happened...the signature tail in the sky of something appearing, much like when the Guests had shown up. Only this time it was hundred of such little signals. The sky was filled with them, and people were ushered inside buildings as much as possible. Something was wrong.

Something was very wrong.

New creatures began to move around the city. For some, it would be creatures they might have wanted to forget. Yet for others, this would soon be forgotten when not flesh but stone, rock and metal, rose from the very ground, pieces of their homeworld reborn in Hinoto-Ri...

Alright 13th hour post!

This will be up to you on what you want to do; start a new post where you can character's name and OPEN and write the days they'll be wandering during the 13th hour. Join other people's post, do some exploration, post them fighting monsters and just have some fun leveling up / interacting! For this log only You can level a persona twice meaning if they are used in a post with one group and in a post with another group, you can level up your persona twice. The conditions is that the fighting must happen on two different days. You can do this with only one persona, however.

For the buildings, each one gets its own thread. The original owners who submitted will be the first to see them, due to a strange pull that made they feel like they NEEDED to go to that area. What they do with this information is up to them; they can contact others in their group, start exploring by themselves or allow the thread to be open for others to come in with them...it's all up to you. That next morning, the government will be coming over to analyze them (that will be done offscreen, however).

FOR THE CREATURES 1) The creatures have to be in the Beastary for you to use them. You don't need to use creatures from your own home worlds either, as long as someone's put in a creature in there! No boss characters that night, since it isn't a full moon. Also make sure your characters could logically take onthe creatures you pick let's not have them take down a giant tree when they couldn't normally.]

"Then we'd just need to find it! It's like a treasure hunt!"

"To steal someone else's stuff? Hah, watch us find a stash of a lot of worthless American dollar bills."

He waves a hand, as if waving off the idea itself. His expression is fairly unimpressed to match. "Haven't you heard the saying, it's about the journey, not the destination? It's not about stealing, it's about going on an adventure for treasure!"

...He will not deny, however, that it would be stealing.

"If the, uh, journey involves breaking into someone's private property, I think it's less an adventure than it is a breach of the law."

Atsuro coughs politely into a fist before turning back towards the building.

"Anyway! Why don't we see what's new before we start guessing what places have treasure or not? I mean, I'm sure one of these dungeons somewhere do."

"Now you're just sucking the fun from it!" Gosh Atsuro, where is your sense of adventure? It's like worrying about why that random monster happened to be carrying a ton of cash and a rare item or two!

Still, he brightens at the second part. "Now you're talking. Let's go!"

Atsuro briefly considers steering Hizumi towards the most innocuous places - 'oh hey look i don't think that oak tree was there yesterday' and 'oh man it's a new type of pebble look at the swirly red design!!' In the meantime, though, he'll take his camera back out and snap one last picture of the building (Tapper's).

"Say, aren't you the guy I talked on the phone with a few months ago?"

Wow, rude! Although really, Hizumi'd probably just play along.

"Probably. That was one of the conversations about Jung, right?"

...He says, as if he doesn't at least make a small effort to remember faces.

"...Uh. How many conversations about Jung have you had?"

For being someone who didn't like the library, this guy seemed pretty brushed-up on things himself.

"Only twice or so. I wasn't sure what was going on when I first got here, so that was the first thing that sprang to mind."

He scratches the back of his head, as though thinking.

"Then again, in some ways that whole hypothesis wasn't too off."

"You'll have to remind me again what the hypothesis was. There were a lot of books about Jung in the library, actually." Atsuro just never got around to reading those.

He'll set off now down the street, expecting Hizumi to come along with him.

"Just that there was a connection between the Jungian Philemon and this place's. I talked to another guy, and he mentioned shadows, too - they might not be the exact same thing, but that's at least three terms related to his study of psychology so far if you include Persona."

And he follows along, though his pace is just slow enough to keep him constantly lagging behind by a step or three. If they run into any demons, he's not going to be volunteering himself to fight up close.

"Shadows...?" Atsuro had heard that term before, too, a few times. "Yeah. In the worlds where people are familiar with Personas already, they fought monsters called Shadows. It doesn't seem like they're here, but..."

A pause.

"Actually, they probably just arrived a few days ago. Maybe we'll run into them sometime."

"Because of all the monsters showing up, right? Buildings I don't mind, but with extra demons and things showing up... This time of the night is getting a little too crowded for my tastes."

"Haha... That's one way of thinking about it."

It was true. He was surprised they weren't all developing a nocturnal schedule what with everything important happening at the latest hour of night.

"Most of these buildings stick around during the day, too, though. I've only seen one thing that's restricted to the 13th Hour so far - maybe your treasure vault will be one of them."

"And then I won't have to worry about having to fight while trying to find the treasure! ...It sounds a little less exciting, but it's probably safer that way, too. Hmmm..."

He puts his hand to his chin in thought. "Safety or adventure? That's a tough question..." And definitely an important one in this case, too.

"Hey, what building keeps changing, anyway? Was it that one... Michtlan or whatever?"

"That's... not a building." Atsuro seems surprised for a moment. "You've never been out there at night? Mt. Utsugi?" He glances around as if to try and locate it in the darkness, but stops after it becomes apparent they are surrounded by buildings on all sides.

"During the 13th Hour, the mountain turns into this... vertical city, almost. It's hard to miss."

"Is that what it is? I never actually checked it out. I didn't want to get mauled."

He doesn't particularly mind the thought of dying, but having to deal with the pains of getting maimed and the recovery period afterwards? Thanks, but no thanks.

"Did you ever go there yourself?"

Atsuro nods in response, casting his mind back to the time he had drawn near the Gemini district.

"Yeah. I've seen the transformation plenty of times, but I've only gone up to it once or twice. The city has guards there to keep people out - and even if they didn't, it's all sealed up tight, anyway.

"It kind of turns you off from going to see the mountain during the day."

"No kidding. If you were there when the place switched, you'd probably end up stuck in there for a whole hour, right?"

A pause.

"Or... however long you could last, more like."

"Huh..."

Atsuro considers that for a few moments.

"I... don't actually know. That would mean they should put guards around during the day, but as far as I know, people still use it to go hiking and stuff. It's an interesting idea..."

"So nobody's checked that out? Then again, I guess it'd be pretty tough to do."

His gaze turns upwards as he thinks about it.

"...I don't know where else you could end up if you decided to try sticking it out through the thirteenth hour. I mean, it sounds a little too convenient for it to just teleport you to another place where you would be safe."

"I have a feeling they clear people off when it gets closer to the 13th Hour. ...Although I'm sure someone gets lost on the mountain sometimes."

Atsuro frowns for a moment or two.

"Maybe you'd just... fall off the mountain when it turned into all those weird gears and stuff."

"Or some daredevil kids could sneak up there to get out of the curfew. No matter how dangerous you say a place is, somebody's gonna think it would be a great idea to check it out anyway." Ah, humanity.

"I wanna say that sounds far-fetched, but then again we're talking about a mountain that turns into a weird city... thing. I guess that could be possible."

"Or...." Atsuro gives a small shrug. "They just don't let us know when people get lost inside. I mean... it's not like they can get in to find out, either, right? Missing persons reports don't do much, either - they figure you got killed by a demon and eaten or something."

"There's a lot of ways for people to go missing here... I mean, that kind of thing can already happen without having to worry about demons. Wonder what the rate of disappearances must be like..."

He looks thoughtful for a moment before giving a shrug of his own.

"Well, it can't be helped I guess! No matter how much effort we put into helping, there's no way we can possibly save everyone from any little thing. We just have to focus on the bigger picture - like the falling buildings!"
