What: Closing Arena Ceremonies, Part 2

Warnings: This could get serious...but who knows.
Finally it was time for the mayor, Kazuki Sakahagi, to speak up. Not even an thirty minutes left to the celebrations, but seeing him go appeared to be lighting up a spark in the citizens. It wasn't too hard to see why; his enthusiastic grin and way of walking could easily melt anyone's worry away.
He walked to the center stage as cheering broke out, two men in black and Junko Tanako behind him.

He doesn't get too far, though. It's not that there's anything up there that's stopping him. No, it's what he sees on the ground.
"Lady Palutena!"
He dives down towards her, having no choice but to somewhat land on her to avoid colliding into anyone else.

She's a little surprised to see him flying on his own,
they grow up so fast these days...but she'll worry about that later."We need to- oof!"
Whatever she was going to say is cut off by the somewhat invasive landing which knocked her off balance and into some of the people trying to flee the scene. But at least she manages to stay on her feet.

There is no way she's running away after that hypocritical speech. How dare they talk about saving everyone right before they attack a room full of innocent people?
"Don't worry about me, Pit. I'm tougher than I look."
They don't have time to chat, so she starts moving toward the stage again, following her original plan.

He knows she's tougher than she looks. But she's Lady Palutena. His patron goddess. If anything happened to her...
He follows her closely, keeping an eye out on any dangers around them.
And sending up a thought to a certain goddess.
Viridi, if you can hear me, spare an eye for us both.

Viridi always has time to snark at Pit and Palutena.
"Seriously, though, Pit, she's a goddess. I know you love her and blah blah mushy gook, but all of the humans in this place combined couldn't hurt her."

And at least she's making progress. A lot of the people who tried to go straight down the middle got waylaid by one thing or another.

Apparently, the thought had been intercepted by Hades somewhere along the way. The god is ways away, dodging and sidestepping shots sent at him. He's waiting for them to get tired and decide to take on others. No reason to give the protagonists less challenges to face.
"I've been looking all over for you. This is exactly the kind of chaos I expected to catch your eye."

Viridi's voice releases a groan of soul-weary irritation.
"Of course he's here. 'K, let me deal with Hades; you two get back to your awkward meandering."

She continues with her completely non-awkward, admittedly kind of meandering towards the stage. She's almost there. She appreciates Viridi taking one for the team though.
"Good luck with that."

Grabbing a masked Anoli member by the collar, Hades flashes a smile and tosses him over at Palutena.
"Nor for that, but consider it a welcome gift."

The Anoli member is suddenly arrested in mid-air and tossed clear out of the stadium. No one ever said the Power of Flight had to be voluntarily used.

"I... thought you knew. Viridi mentioned him to me when I arrived so I just assumed...."
Her apology is almost interrupted by Hades' lovely 'gift' but luckily Viridi was on that.
"Hades, I'd ask whether you had anything better to do, but I'm afraid I'd find out that throwing things at us was actually the highlight of your evening."
She arrives at right side of the stage, all she has to do now is get up there.
