Ahh Autumn. The time for harvest, and the normal national holiday that falls on the 24th and 25th. Demons? Angels? Magic? Well nothing's been put on pause, but even the Anoli need to relax once in a while...

With that free time, what's a newcomer like you to do?

Well Hinoto-Ri has much to offer! As they seem to be the only standing city in...well, anywhere, they've tried to merge and adapt as many festivals around the world as they can.

Ergo this Fall festival is a mixture of everything the world could offer. Corn on the cob, Pumpkins, Yaki Imo (Oven-Roasted Sweet Potatoes), Ramen stands, Falafel, caramelized apples...

A giant dragon is tied down in the middle of the waters. At night, you can see a few pixies hover close to it, keeping other monsters at bay. The streets have been decorated as well.

But most importantly, the upper Virgo Ward has been turned in a giant festival area...even more so than usual! Now the millions of stalls don't just try to sell things to you, they sell things to you thematically with this fall! Giant pumpkins and fresh produce made in Libra and Capricorn..did you know that Capicorn has an amazing giant apple orchid, protected by the office of Wands and Swords? Try out some free samples! One taste is enough to convince you that having Persona to irrigate the fields ass a crispness to the fruit..right? Winter outfits...hats are in this year! Listen to some of the new music groups, and get pumped for the upcoming movies!

There is giant mooncake in the middle of all the tents and stalls. Don't worry about the money! Everything's free today! It is a time for sharing and family and...

...being thankful for what you have. No matter how small it might be.

For a city of survivors, Hinoto-Ri is certainly trying to have a good time.

In one of the booths, someone has kindly set up a karaoke machine. It plays a mixture of music unique to this city and hit tunes that somehow seem to have materialized from other worlds. Perhaps it is a karaoke machine from the sea of the soul? But whether you're in the mood for something familiar or something brand new, this machine has it all.

Are you ready to show off your voice and your moves?

No? Well go have some more alcohol first to drown out your shame! Come on, it's lots of fun!

You might even catch a few wallflowers showing their stuff--!

Someone seems to be enjoying himself at the karaoke booth. If you've met this blue-haired teen before, you might be a little surprised to find him up there, singing shamelessly and clearly enjoying himself, given that otherwise he's normally pretty reserved and quiet...

Or maybe not. Everyone's got their hobbies, right? One of Minato's just happens to be karaoke, and his voice isn't at all bad to listen to, either. He's no opera singer, but he does seem to have some musical inclination, at least, even if he's not trained in singing.

He may or may not be being deliberately silly with adding in a few dorky dance moves to songs he really likes, but he doesn't get too carried away with such extraneous movement, since singing is what he's really enjoying here. Since he's having so much fun, you know you want to join him ... right?

...he's fairly unsure about jumping up there and joining Minato, but he will offer him applause when he finishes a song. Really, he is pretty good... guess there was a reason he always saw him with a pair of headphones (now he had to wonder what Yosuke's excuse was...).

The applesauce startles Minato a little, as he's more used to singing in a private booth, but he manages to swallow it and offer a weak smile in gratitude. He pauses a moment before holding the mic out to Yu.

"Ah -- I think it's your turn next?"

Though if Yu is particularly uncertain... there is an extra mic available for moral support duets.

CUE AWKWARD NOISE. No, hold on, let him get his Persona's wife first--

...okay, what? Shut up, Izanagi. Don't confuse him like that.

He let out a breath. Okay, he can do this. He has a maxed out courage stat; this will be easy! Up he went, into the booth. Yu paused, glancing at the extra mic, before returning his focus to Minato.

"...do you want to do a duet?"

Minato's courage is also maxed, so he has no problem nodding and reaching for the extra mic to hand it to Yu.

"It'll be fun."

There is clapping heard from not to far away, and a very tall youth then crosses his arms, grinning.

"Not bad, not bad! Quite a heartfelt performance, and Michel approves!"

"Ah -- thank you."

Being applauded startles Minato a little, but he's pretty good at swallowing dramatic reactions, so he winds up just shrugging a bit awkwardly.

"It was just a song I really liked..."

Lies. He just likes karaoke in general, whether it's a song he likes or not.

"Did -- you want a turn?" He holds out the mic.

So Minato hadn't been kidding when he mentioned he enjoyed singing.

But joining him to participate in something so ridiculous is the last thing Shinjiro wants to do; he doesn't intend to stay at the festival long in the first place. Too many people, too much noise. These places are meant for individuals of a different type than he is. So, for the moment, he'll keep his distance, watching Minato from his vantage point a few feet away. He'll leave soon enough.

Shinjiro, don't be such a spoilsport!

Eventually, of course, the song Minato's singing ends, and he takes a short break to have a drink of water, and when he's looking around for someone to hand the mic off to, he spies Shinjiro. Watching him. Like a stalker.

He doesn't say anything but offers a very small smile and holds the mic out in offering. If Shinjiro wants it, he'll come join in. If not, well... no big deal. Minato has a hard time imagining Shinjiro-senpai singing pop music...

That's because he wouldn't.

Minato knows him well.

He arches an eyebrow, shakes his head. Minato can look like an idiot if he wants. Shinjiro's not going to get within three feet of the booth. He certainly didn't come here to sing.

He'll give Minato credit though, at least he has a decent voice to him. It isn't like some bird screeching out its last death wail.

He will find that there is a rather androgynous figure with long silver hair politely applauding in the small crowd that gathered when suddenly karaoke. They don't seem to intrigued, but it would be rather rude not to compliment them on a splendid performance, would it not?

There's something about that figure that catches Minato's attention. Nothing physically - they don't seem to be dressed particularly outlandishly, and silver hair isn't that startling overall. But... still, there's something that stirs in his mind when he sees her. And he pauses, watching her for a few seconds before turning to hand off the mic to the next person in line.

He half expects her to be gone when he looks over again.

Sorry to disappoint, but she isn't quite gone when he glances her way once more. In fact, they are just turning away to walk in the opposite direction. Enjoy your evening-?

One song and some broken glasses ever, Guybrush stands outside the booth, sulking, having been banned for life from singing karaoke again ever. "Man, they're not the bosses of me," he mutters to himself irritably.

"Well... you did better than I likely could?" Says the woman in a blue kimono. At least he tried?

"They just don't appreciate true singing talent when they hear it," he replies indignantly. Actually, on some level he realizes he sucks, but the ego hit, man!

Naoya... Naoya may have had a bit too much to drink. With how skinny he is, and how he sometimes forgets to eat, it's not surprising that alcohol affected him faster than other people.

Really, it's a wonder he can walk straight.

But with a minimum of wobbling, Naoya walks up and takes the microphone, hitting buttons at random. ... Huh. This one he can do.

And so he starts to sing, and when he's confident enough that he won't fall over, he tries some 'dance' moves.

Gabriel had just been wandering around, enjoying the sweets he found when he found them. The sight of Naoya singing drunkenly was amusing, though and it made him pause.

Temptation to troll rising...

"Free bird! Sing Free bird!"

Oh, he senses you, angel. He turns and tries to glare, though it ends up more of a squint.

"No. F... fuck you."

Ah, karaoke. A game where one can challenge even the most professional of singers to battle. Elizabeth had gone once, while visiting Paulownia Mall, and had found it a wonderful little time.

Dressed for the occasion of a festival (in a rather bold kimono), she'll be taking the stage to show off her...

Hidden talents.

First is a rousing rendition of a certain tune everyone may be familiar with now. Second is the same tune, but with... incredibly differing lyrics, that seem to change to whatever she can think of at the moment,

This isn't how you do karaoke, exactly, but honestly this is the only way to do it.

Even if it isn't the most... orthodox way of doing karaoke, Minato still claps politely when she's done. He might even be smiling a little at her creative lyrics. Oh Elizabeth...

My, her guest certainly is too kind. She'll leave the stage once she spots him, taking the microphone with her. It's turned off, but... it's obvious she's looking to have another round sometime soon.

"I heard you singing earlier. You truly are a talented guest."

"The second version of the song of the Velvet Room I was singing is one of my own creation. I believe those were the right lyrics, however I'm not quite certain... I shall have to ask Theo or Margaret when I see them."

He shakes his head at her compliment. It is not talent, merely obsession with remaining badass! But he smiles all the same.

"It is very creative," he remarks. And he wonders just what Theo, Margaret and Igor all think about the song... "Would you like to try singing a song popular here, next?"
