The night sky once again turned red as the 13th hour hit the city. By now it was almost too easy to accept it. The moon (or what was of it up there) shone, affecting the monster population in subtle ways.

By now, even the strange events which had happened almost seemed a little too common. The pulls from a new building, or the odd creatures that showed up and increased the population for that hour gave rise to new oppertunities; both good and bad.

To keep the population safe, the mayor had asked the city to stay inside that night and let the city police and visitors do their job, despite the dividing population on this issue. For the most part, there wouldn't be much resistance.

Each night, the sky was always filled with at least one or two signs of something new, and people were ushered inside buildings as much as possible.

Who knew. Maybe tonight you'd get lucky.

You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said. What time you showed here seems to be as random as everything else; if you were lucky it was during the day, if not, well the 13th hour was rather dangerous. Fortunately, there was a high chance you'd be spotted quickly.

...hopefull anyway.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

[(Make sure you read it!) This is a dual log, both 13th hour, or newcomer posts (we're testing it out to see this works well or not.)

This will be up to you on what you want to do; start a new post where you can character's name and OPEN and write the days they'll be wandering during the 13th hour.

If you are a newcomer, write OPEN and what hour they arrived. It can be the 13th hour if you want too!

Join other people's post, do some exploration, post them fighting monsters and just have some fun leveling up / interacting! For this log, you can level up persona, but not in the same thread and the same day, IC-wise. Please do not abuse this. The conditions is that the fighting must happen on different days. The threads should be long enough that an attack is possible and shouldn't just be a few comments just for the sake of leveling up (Ie, we want effort in them, as much as you would with a normal log.).

If you submitted a building and it was accepted, feel free to start a post with them discovering it! The original owners who submitted will be the first to see them, due to a strange pull that made they feel like they NEEDED to go to that area. What they do with this information is up to them; they can contact others in their group, start exploring by themselves or allow the thread to be open for others to come in with them...it's all up to you. That next morning, the government will be coming over to analyze them (that will be done offscreen, however).

FOR THE CREATURES 1) The creatures have to be in the Beastary for you to use them. You don't need to use creatures from your own home worlds either, as long as someone's put in a creature in there! Also, make sure your characters could logically take on the creatures you pick let's not have them take down a giant creature when they couldn't normally.]

Joshua had been wandering around the city since his arrival (which was very sudden, very unpleasant, most likely rude, if he could remember it - why couldn't he use his powers? His memory isn't eidetic, and even the impressions of the encounter were evaporating like a nonsensical dream - doubly rude, he couldn't remember the last time he had slept. There was no way he could somehow preserve the memory without his powers. Ugh.) Brushing off very strong feelings of teeth grinding annoyance, he had been experimenting with his new glasses, checking on the settings and comparing the strengths and weaknesses of his glasses and his phone. He had taken a (normal) selfy to examine his new accessory, naturally. At least the frames were nice. Not that he couldn't work anything, of course, but still, quality matters.

Right now, he is sitting on a bench next to a yaki imo stand under some awning (did it... really have to be rainy today? Really?), glasses retracted, fiddling with his phone and sending off some text messages to no avail. No signal? He's never needed signal for this phone before... Despite his intent in the contrary, he does give off a pretty strong newcomer's vibe. (Probably because he's out on a rainy day without an umbrella. He looks... damp.)

Well, crap. Neku stared at Joshua from across the street, bowl of ramen in his hands. He was back?

... Shit. He needed to go greet him, but... ugh. He'd probably seen him already anyway.

Neku headed over, tugging his jacket around him. "Hey."

Joshua was cold and wet, his normally fluffy hair soggy from the rain. He actually hadn't noticed Neku until he was halfway across the street, but that was enough time for him to feign that he'd seen him the entire time. He looked up at Neku, unamused.

"Took you long enough, Neku. Are you my welcome wagon?" He smirked, stretching up and out. "Not that I'm complaining, but I could use a nice fruit basket. I'd even take a cookie cake at this point."

"Guess so."

... Yeah, typical Joshua. He took a bite of his ramen to collect his thoughts before answering.

"This place is called Hinoto-Ri. You've been dragged here, given a power called Persona, and apparently we're supposed to save this place. There's some freaks called the Anoli who're causing trouble but something tells me there's more than that."

Joshua shut his phone, tapping it against his lips as Neku spoke. Call to adventure, a cry for help, blah, blah, boring, banal. The Anoli were new to him, though. As little as he cared about anything in this city, if this group had caught Neku's attention... It was worth a look, at least.

"I'd need something a little better than 'something' to start throwing casual insults around. What do your 'Anoli' get up to?"

"Well they crashed the Grand Prix - it's like a duel with Persona, it's their big sporting event. They shot the champion and caused a lot of chaos. A lot of people died during it. They claim they want to protect people, reveal the truth... I'm not sure that they do. They haven't shown themselves too much."

There's a pause, before he talks again. "A lot of us who helped out ended up in the hospital. Some people got hurt pretty badly. The medicine here's better at home, but I know there were at least a few people who were in the ICU for a long time. I got off with a broken leg. A lot of people weren't as lucky."

"Well, that's one way to get attention. Someone ought to give their PR department a good talking to." Joshua rested his phone once, piecing together parts of the whole power struggle as he cared to see it before flipping it back open again. "What's got them so hot and bothered, anyway? Who's the enemy at large?"

Joshua may not have had eidetic memory, but Saiduq did. It was a byproduct of keeping an eye on humanity's grown since they left their cradle, really, and while he often missed the minor details (names, personalities, trends) he felt pretty confident that he knew almost all the faces in Hinoto-Ri.

This one, he didn't, and he had a sinking feeling at his core that he'd be seeing quite a lot of it.

He'd stalked Joshua all the way to the yaki imo stand, keeping at the tops of buildings and overall being a dodgey, red-striped creep. Saiduq had been keeping himself scarce, but he...could indulge, right? Shining One said as much.

It was just a flash of teal, and he teleported directly in front of Joshua, head tilted somewhat to the right, gripping a blue-and-white striped umbrella in his left hand. Hopefully he'd be expected. If he was, then his feeling was right. If the guy did jolt, then he might just feel bad.

Joshua was a lot of things - imaginative, creative, talented, wise - but his roots were human, and overcome them as he would, a photographic memory is something one is born with. Give him another couple centuries, maybe. In the meantime, names, personalities, and trends were his business, and he knew the social make up of his Shibuya like the palm of his hand. Hinoto-Ri? Barely pinging on his radar. It was okay, but not his territory. Favoritism? Definitely. It was required in his line of business.

He felt the newcomer like the rays of the sun on his back. It hadn't been there all day, so he knew it wasn't his new hosts (if they'd wanted to talk, they'd have kept him there), but whoever it was, with a vibe that strong in this plane? Angel territory. Very high Upstairs. Joshua flipped his phone shut as the arrival came into view, shoving it into his pocket. He hoped this one would consider being reasonable.

Joshua flipped a wet lock of hair out of his eyes, giving his visitor's physical form a once-over before nodding once in greeting. "It's a pleasure, the circumstances notwithstanding. Can I help you?"

Good. Saiduq let his face slip in to an easy smile, walking forward to sit on the bench, with the umbrella between the two of them.

"I am hoping you may. It is not often I have this opportunity." He rolled his wrist, lifting his arm to press his fingers delicately along his jawline. Motions like that were becoming much easier in this body. "Does the name 'ēli' mean anything to you? YHVH?"

He didn't give much room for an actual answer, just looked for a reaction before sighing. "I do not wish to draw this out. If you have questions, please ask them as well."

"A rare pleasure, then." Joshua amicably slid over to make room, lacing his fingers together and settling his chin on top. The first? No. YHVH, though... Joshua's eyebrows raised a bit at that. Very high Upstairs, then.

Questions? Joshua had already gone through a multitude of questions while wandering the city, sorting them by immediate relevance and relative usefulness. There were only a few real questions for him to ask, and the rest was legwork. If he's short on time, well... Let's not get to wasting it, mm?

"My plane needs me, if one would recall. I can't do my job here." Joshua narrowed his eyes at a point somewhere across the street. The structure of his Shibuya would crumble without him, and his work with it. "Were the circumstances that dire, or is someone higher up playing some kind of frivolous game?" If it was the latter, Joshua would be rather put out. And he would complain. Loudly.

Well, that brow was all he'd needed. Saiduq gave a small sigh at the specific questions, letting his smile melt to something more neutral and dropping his hand from his jaw. That look was awareness, this power he felt was holy, yet he did not seem to be the sort that he expected of the YHVH he knew.

"I was pulled here just as I took over for my own plane. I sympathize." And he did, because this was the sort of time he could genuinely find himself bothered with the spats of Nyarlathotep and Philemon. "I will be frank. The people within this city need aid, however they did not need beings like us. We, specifically, are evidence that it will soon become another of their chess matches." His gaze cast to his shoes, actively frowning now. "This world has been ravaged...but so has mine. It is possible to go home, I am told, but I do not know the method."

This YHVH has shades to him, thank you. His version of the job came specifically with the commission to notice the sparrows that fall from the tree, and he's recently taken on a bit of a mission to take this job... well... a bit more personally. Either way, this one might be a little more mortal savvy than the ones Saiduq is familiar with.

Joshua laughs lightly. Nyarlahotep and Philemon? Nothing more than names from empty urban legends where he's from. Which, of course, only compounded the solemnity of this discussion. "All we are are harbingers? I suppose I should be flattered." Even if he was the highest authority on the mortal plane, the immortal planes were both above him and a place in which he had no interest. Joshua was an artist and Composer, after all; he was more interested in the details of his own version of his world then then regulation of many planes. On a scale like this? He shouldn't even ping.

(He's still pretty ticked off though, let's be real.)

After adding 'sending everyone home' to his to do list, he let out a hefty sigh. "I'm assuming we want the same thing, here? An end to this pointless debate and the dimensions back in order?" It seemed as though this one needed to be back with his people as sorely as Joshua did, but it wouldn't hurt to set the record straight.

One day Daichi might learn to leave his apartment with an umbrella-- or, you know, to buy one. When it was raining. However, that day was not today, and instead of having an umbrella, all he had right now was a jacket over his usual school uniform to provide himself with a hood while he was out.

"Hey--!" Yep. Pretty strong newbie vibe. Though let's be honest, it was mostly because Daichi was still using his own comp to track some of the new people when they arrived.

"Everything OK. You look pretty drenched."

This kid will just get an amused look in return. Sure, he's soaked, but what's this joker's game? Blind leading the blind would be the key words here.

"'Okay' is pretty relative here, wouldn't you say? Give or take some time and experience out here, I'd say we're pretty much in the same boat." Nevertheless, Joshua has to suppress a shiver. It is cold and it is wet, two things that Joshua despises. The claws will come out if this guy can't come up with something useful to say, fast.

Excuse you, he had perfectly good eyesight.

"Uh..." Yeah, Daichi never really did do well with philosophical or hypothetical things. So he's just kind of giving Joshua this kind of confused and weird look for a moment or so.

"Well, I don't know about you, but at least I have a jacket, and you seem to be getting pretty wet," He said with a slight chuckle to try and laugh off the awkward. "Wouldn't you feel better if you went inside?"

If Daichi is not one for hypotheticals, oh man... maybe he'd better start walking. This kid is the king of what-ifs.

"Perhaps I would," he said neutrally, leaning back against his bench seat, doing absolutely nothing to break the awkwardness. "But who knows? Maybe I'm very happy with being cold and wet. Or perhaps this is preferable to what I'd find indoors. It wouldn't be reasonable, of course, but here I am."

[hetried]

Man, this guy sure liked to talk in circles. Why was everyone in this city so weird?

"I guess so, but you might get sick if you stay out here so long. And the shopkeepers aren't that bad if you want to duck inside real quick." ...What was he arguing again?? "I just figured you were new around here and wanted to see if you needed help."

Weird doesn't even begin to describe Joshua Kiryuu. Joshua tilts his head, his eyebrow raising. This stranger does seem determined to help for some reason. He takes a second to fully take stock of his visitor from head to toe, searching for evidence of deceit.

"Awfully nice of you to offer, I'd say. Was that the full itinerary, though? Is there something I missed during orientation besides the fashion glasses?"

Shouldn't you at least grab a raincoat?

[That's what Riku's done, anyway, as evidenced by the dark blue jacket shielding his hair from the rain.

Okay, so his bangs might look a little soggy, but all things considered, it could be a whole lot worse.]

[ joshua looks at this newcomer over his open cellphone levelly, staring for a beat before returning his attention downward. ]

You're assuming I have one! It'd make sense as long as I was a complete idiot, mmm? [ he sounds bored. ] I shudder to think what that implies of your opinion of me.

[...Wow, this guy sure has a lot of sass. And while some people might find it almost offensive, Riku merely shrugs.]

Let me guess. New arrival?

[That'd explain... well, just about everything.]

[ sass is a very nice word for it, thank you. joshua raises an eyebrow, still not looking up at his stranger. ]

And thank you for coming to that conclusion yourself, however belated it might have been.

[ ... he shivers. ok, he may have a mouth on him, but this kid is cold. ]

[Is this going to turn into a contest of sharp tongues and attitude? Riku responds with a dismissive wave of his hand before crossing his arms. If he were in a generous mood, maybe he'd hand his coat over, but that's not really his style under normal circumstances.

But it's not like he's a sociopath, either. Sigh, he can at least point him in the right direction.]

If you're really that cold, wouldn't it be better to hit the Virgo district?

Coming from you, I'd imagine it would be.

[ Joshua deigns to give him a look over his cellphone, this one moderately expectant. ]

Point out the flaw in this promising plan and perhaps there's hope for you yet.
