▼ Something Old, Something New (13th hour & arrival log)

▼ When it is darkest, men see the stars...(13th hour)

The night sky once again turned red as the 13th hour hit the city. By now it was almost too easy to accept it. The moon (or what was of it up there) shone, affecting the monster population in subtle ways.

By now, even the strange events which had happened almost seemed a little too common. The pulls from a new building, or the odd creatures that showed up and increased the population for that hour gave rise to new oppertunities; both good and bad.

To keep the population safe, the mayor had asked the city to stay inside that night and let the city police and visitors do their job, despite the dividing population on this issue. For the most part, there wouldn't be much resistance.

Each night, the sky was always filled with at least one or two signs of something new, and people were ushered inside buildings as much as possible.

Who knew. Maybe tonight you'd get lucky.

▼ Ode of the Newcomer

You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said. What time you showed here seems to be as random as everything else; if you were lucky it was during the day, if not, well the 13th hour was rather dangerous. Fortunately, there was a high chance you'd be spotted quickly.

...hopefull anyway.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

[(Make sure you read it!) This is a dual log, both 13th hour, or newcomer posts (we're testing it out to see this works well or not.)

This will be up to you on what you want to do; start a new post where you can character's name and OPEN and write the days they'll be wandering during the 13th hour.

If you are a newcomer, write OPEN and what hour they arrived. It can be the 13th hour if you want too!

Join other people's post, do some exploration, post them fighting monsters and just have some fun leveling up / interacting! For this log, you can level up persona, but not in the same thread and the same day, IC-wise. Please do not abuse this. The conditions is that the fighting must happen on different days. The threads should be long enough that an attack is possible and shouldn't just be a few comments just for the sake of leveling up (Ie, we want effort in them, as much as you would with a normal log.).

If you submitted a building and it was accepted, feel free to start a post with them discovering it! The original owners who submitted will be the first to see them, due to a strange pull that made they feel like they NEEDED to go to that area. What they do with this information is up to them; they can contact others in their group, start exploring by themselves or allow the thread to be open for others to come in with them...it's all up to you. That next morning, the government will be coming over to analyze them (that will be done offscreen, however).

FOR THE CREATURES 1) The creatures have to be in the Beastary for you to use them. You don't need to use creatures from your own home worlds either, as long as someone's put in a creature in there! Also, make sure your characters could logically take on the creatures you pick let's not have them take down a giant creature when they couldn't normally.]

He'd already accepted what had been coming: what was essentially the end of the world, having to give up everyone and everything here to make it right-- to bring her back. He'd had to give up everyone he still had left, but-- perhaps things could be different this time? Things could be better. That was the only thought keeping him sane.

Until of course, Philemon appeared, to take it all away. Again.

And now Jun was getting sick of it. Sick of "Personas," sick of Philemon and Nyarlathotep's stupid little games, sick of trying to save everyone.

And he was angry.

He had no idea where he was, or what was going on or, what the hell was up with the atmosphere with the city right now. But when you take a mopey, bitter teenager right out of an end of the world scenario and throw him somewhere else, they tend not to react very well. Which is why, anyone happening upon the "newcomer," would find him currently antagonizing some hapless-- well, it wasn't a totally hapless citizen, seeing as they were lurking about during the 13th Hour dressed suspiciously in black, but Jun currently had the poor sap by the front of his jacket in an iron grip and a startling tranquil glare on his face.

"What's going on?"

...Needless to say, the poor, persona-less wannabe robber was too terrified to answer at the moment.

Anger, fear - both wonderful emotions in Xellos' book. Unfortunately, there was far too much fear coming off of the robber for him to actually give Jun the information he wanted - at least, judging by what Xellos knew of the average human.

So perhaps it was time to intervene.

Xellos steps out of a dark area, casual as can be, and mustering his most innocent expression before speaking to Jun. "I suppose that is the question, now isn't it~?"

His eyes darted to the side to look at Xellos through narrow eyes. The guy he was antagonizing...didn't look like he knew if he was being saved or just getting in more deep shit.

"I don't have the patience for word games right now."

Xellos chuckles quietly, and waves a dismissive hand. "Well, that much is obvious! I merely say so, as you're not the only one wondering that, and while I do understand your frustration, I believe that our friend here," he says, then gestures to the robber oh so non-chalantly. "Might be more willing to answer if you asked him a bit more nicely, hmm~?"

He idlely looked at the robber once again, as if he had completely forgotten about or lost interest in him.

The guy looked about ready to piss his pants.

"Where are we?" Jun asked, in the same tone of voice as before-- really it was kind of hard to get more calm right now than 'tranquil fury.'

"Th-Th-Th-- This city! I-It's-- Hinoto-Ri! A-A-All kinds of p-people like you h-have been c-coming and going--!!"

A few steps puts Xellos behind Jun with folded arms. He looks toward the robber with interest - probably too much interest, really. "People like us? Just what is that supposed to mean, hmm? After all, you just met us - how can you know anything about us?"

"V-Visitors from a-a-another world! They're all over the place! I'd be an idiot not to know!"

At that, Jun quirked an eyebrow at that. Clearly they weren't the only ones being roped into all of this crap this time. Well wasn't that just dandy.

The singling out, oddly enough, didn't bother him much. "Then where are the others?" He asked, surprisingly actually sounding a little more calm than before. Er, sounding at least.

"A-All over the place! L-Like I just said!"

"Another world, hmm...?" Xellos frowns a bit, then strokes his chin. "I suppose that explains a few things!" After saying that, he folds his arms, though the frown remains. "It is rather rude to just drag us here, though. I was quite busy, after all!"

There's a pause before he speaks again.

"There is one unresolved bit, though, Mr. Robber - there's some lingering thought from before I realized I was here. Just what is 'persona'?"

"A manifestation of your inner self-- a reflection of you are. It's supposed to protect you."

Jun says without missing a beat. Oh yeah, he was pretty familiar with that concept.

"I know that much." As far as he was concerned, they'd exhausted the information that the robber could give him. So with a bit of a forceful shove, he releases his grasp on the man, who proceeded to scramble back to wherever he'd come from.
