Something Old, Something New

The night sky once again turned red as the 13th hour hit the city. By now it was almost too easy to accept it. The moon (or what was of it up there) shone, affecting the monster population in subtle ways.

By now, even the strange events which had happened almost seemed a little too common. The pulls from a new building, or the odd creatures that showed up and increased the population for that hour gave rise to new oppertunities; both good and bad.

To keep the population safe, the mayor had asked the city to stay inside that night and let the city police and visitors do their job, despite the dividing population on this issue. For the most part, there wouldn't be much resistance.

Each night, the sky was always filled with at least one or two signs of something new, and people were ushered inside buildings as much as possible.

Who knew. Maybe tonight you'd get lucky.

▼ Ode of the Newcomer

You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said. What time you showed here seems to be as random as everything else; if you were lucky it was during the day, if not, well the 13th hour was rather dangerous. Fortunately, there was a high chance you'd be spotted quickly.

...hopefull anyway.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

[(Make sure you read it!) This is a dual log, both 13th hour, or newcomer posts (we're testing it out to see this works well or not.)

This will be up to you on what you want to do; start a new post where you can character's name and OPEN and write the days they'll be wandering during the 13th hour.

If you are a newcomer, write OPEN and what hour they arrived. It can be the 13th hour if you want too!

Join other people's post, do some exploration, post them fighting monsters and just have some fun leveling up / interacting! For this log, you can level up persona, but not in the same thread and the same day, IC-wise. Please do not abuse this. The conditions is that the fighting must happen on different days. The threads should be long enough that an attack is possible and shouldn't just be a few comments just for the sake of leveling up (Ie, we want effort in them, as much as you would with a normal log.).

If you submitted a building and it was accepted, feel free to start a post with them discovering it! The original owners who submitted will be the first to see them, due to a strange pull that made they feel like they NEEDED to go to that area. What they do with this information is up to them; they can contact others in their group, start exploring by themselves or allow the thread to be open for others to come in with them...it's all up to you. That next morning, the government will be coming over to analyze them (that will be done offscreen, however).

FOR THE CREATURES 1) The creatures have to be in the Beastary for you to use them. You don't need to use creatures from your own home worlds either, as long as someone's put in a creature in there! Also, make sure your characters could logically take on the creatures you pick let's not have them take down a giant creature when they couldn't normally.]

Without really knowing many people in the city (aside from the Investigation Team), and with most of them injured, Chie had taken it upon herself to go and train. She had done as much studying as she could (which was really not her strong suit) and even contacted her new friend Minako.

She knew it was dangerous, to go out at the 13th Hour, but she had braved the TV World and fought a God. So Chie was feeling a bit optimistic. That night she had strapped on her best greaves, and loaded her jacket with meat snacks and healing items. A police cadet was always prepared!

When the time came, Chie was at the spot they had agreed on, and sent a message to Minako to let her know she was waiting.

They shouldn't have too much trouble. Chie's an experienced Persona user, and Minako is that plus used to fighting during the 13th Hour. She's found working in pairs to be efficient, although she still wishes that she had Fuuka, or someone like her, to use as her backup. It's easy to take a support Persona user for granted until they aren't present.

"Hey, Chie-chan!" Minako greets the other girl as she approaches. She has her naginata in one hand, her Evoker buckled to her waist and, for the sake of tradition, she's also wearing her red SEES armband. "Are you ready for training?"

Chie had never fought without her team, and it had been so long since she had done it without Rise as backup. But she couldn't imagine it to be that dangerous, especially with someone like Minako. So when she saw the other girl (who was somehow older than her and yet the same age) she gave a welcoming wave.

"I've been dying to get some training in! It's been a while, but I know I'm still at the top of my game." Chie's steel greaves clinked and clanked as she hopped from side to side, warming up her body for a fight.

"Let's find some Shadows and send them flying!" Chie rushed ahead, looking for something to fight. When she spotted something she had already spun and connected the back of her foot in a roundhouse kick to the thing before she could even check to see what it was.

The monster was instead a pair of mudcrabs that had just been minding their own business, and we're pretty annoyed at Chie's sudden intrusion.

"I'm not so sure those are Shadows...." But now it looks like she's made them angry. The crabs are coming towards them, claws clacking menacingly. Still, to Minako they honestly don't look that tough. In fact, they kind of look tasty. She finds herself suddenly craving shellfish.

It's hard to tell the difference between Shadows and not, since Shadows come in all kinds of flavors from giant robots to spooky ghosts. But a monster is a monster and Chie doesn't hold back.

Chie bounces from foot to foot, and calls out "Persona!", spin-kicking the magical blue card that appears infront of her. Suzuka Gongen appears, spinning her blade, and a giant hand appears from the sky, crashing down into one of the crabs, nearly flattening it against the ground.

"I guess I still got it," she says, fixing the glasses she was wearing with her finger. Even though they obviously weren't in the TV world, it still made sense to put them on for her.

"Not bad!"

But if Chie is going to show off her Persona, Minako isn't about to fall behind. She draws her Evoker. "But here's mine... Orpheus!"

She pulls the trigger. Orpheus immediately appears in a cloud of blue shards, strumming his lyre and sending a column of Agidyne at another crab, instantly flambéing it.

Chie had fought together with Naoto, and was used to seeing Naoto use a gun on Shadows. But Minako didn't point the gun at the crabs, she pointed it at herself.

"Hey, wait!" Chie tried to stop her, but she was too far away and it happened too quickly. Minako's persona was summoned, and nothing bad seemed to happen to the other girl, but Chie's heart was still racing.

"W-What the hell was that?!"

"Huh? Orpheus?"

Minako and the Persona both turn, confused by Chie's reaction. But then she realizes the problem. She's used to most people knowing what Evokers are by now, with the last tournament publicizing them, but Chie obviously hadn't been around for that. "Oh - this isn't a gun, it's an Evoker! It lets me summon my Persona more easily. Don't worry!"

Chie was pretty damn worried for a second. She saw a gun pointed at the girl's head and freaked out. Of course she knew nothing about the Evokers, but she took Minako's word for it. Not that she ever really had trouble summoning her Persona, so it seemed to make little sense. However, the moment to speak on that was not right then, as two crabs were left standing.

"Suzuka Gongen!" Chie just spun and pointed her outstretched arm at the two monsters. Her Persona cast Mabufula, knocking over the two last crabs. It was the perfect chance to go all out!

Minako seems to agree. "Let's go!" she commands, for a minute forgetting that Chie isn't actually one of her friends who knows exactly what that means. Regardless, she charges in at the fallen enemies, swinging her naginata for the kill.

It's not the same as with her group, but Chie understands it pretty quickly. Going all out and dealing some massive damage, it's one of her favorite things. Chie's quickly on Minako's tail, jumping up and driving her foot into the crabs, before spinning and kicking furiously. After a moment or two of all out attacking the monsters were toast, and the girl's stood victorious!

"Hah, I'm still a Furious Dragon of the East!" she may just be quoting her favorite movie, celebrating their win.

The mudscrabs were honestly not that big of a deal, but it still felt satisfying fighting them off. Training is the point anyway, not actually getting in danger.

Minako grins and pumps her fist in victory. "We make a pretty good team so far! I'm really impressed that you fight with martial arts." She can't imagine just going up and kicking a Shadow herself. ...Well, maybe if she was wearing spiked heels like Mitsuru-senpai's....

Getting stronger was Chie's main goal in her life. She wanted to be strong enough so she didn't need to rely on others, so she could protect the people and town she cares so much about. And so, even a pretty simple fight got her excited.

"R-Really? It's not that big of a deal, I'm just not good with any weapons like you guys. All I can do is kick them until the go down."

"Well, I still think you're really brave to run up to a monster and kick it!"

Sorry Chie, she's still going to praise you. It's a bit of a habit, to pick out the strong points of her team and encourage them. "Akihiko-senpai's a boxer, so I've seen him punch Shadows, but I'd feel lost without my naginata."

She's already experienced that in a few incidents since coming to Hinoto-ri.

"I guess I just get so pumped up, I'm not afraid to get up close and personal. Your senpai sounds really cool.." Chie's punches weren't very strong, partially because she focused on Kung Fu and leg workouts, but she guessed it was because she was female too.

"You seem like a really good leader, like Yu-kun!" Chie didn't even know that Minako was their team leader, she just thought that she reminded her a lot of her Leader.

Really, Chie reminds her a lot of Akihiko. She's just a girl and more into martial arts than boxing. "I think you two would really get along. I'll have to introduce you, if you don't run into him first." Despite being a big city, it could really be a small place for the Visitors.

The second part makes her try to look modest. "Thanks... I really just do what I can, though."
