▼ When it is darkest, men see the stars...(13th hour)

The night sky once again turned red as the 13th hour hit the city. By now it was almost too easy to accept it. The moon (or what was of it up there) shone, affecting the monster population in subtle ways.

By now, even the strange events which had happened almost seemed a little too common. The pulls from a new building, or the odd creatures that showed up and increased the population for that hour gave rise to new oppertunities; both good and bad.

To keep the population safe, the mayor had asked the city to stay inside that night and let the city police and visitors do their job, despite the dividing population on this issue. For the most part, there wouldn't be much resistance.

Each night, the sky was always filled with at least one or two signs of something new, and people were ushered inside buildings as much as possible.

Who knew. Maybe tonight you'd get lucky.

▼ Ode of the Newcomer

You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said. What time you showed here seems to be as random as everything else; if you were lucky it was during the day, if not, well the 13th hour was rather dangerous. Fortunately, there was a high chance you'd be spotted quickly.

...hopefull anyway.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

[(Make sure you read it!) This is a dual log, both 13th hour, or newcomer posts (we're testing it out to see this works well or not.)

This will be up to you on what you want to do; start a new post where you can character's name and OPEN and write the days they'll be wandering during the 13th hour.

If you are a newcomer, write OPEN and what hour they arrived. It can be the 13th hour if you want too!

Join other people's post, do some exploration, post them fighting monsters and just have some fun leveling up / interacting! For this log, you can level up persona, but not in the same thread and the same day, IC-wise. Please do not abuse this. The conditions is that the fighting must happen on different days. The threads should be long enough that an attack is possible and shouldn't just be a few comments just for the sake of leveling up (Ie, we want effort in them, as much as you would with a normal log.).

If you submitted a building and it was accepted, feel free to start a post with them discovering it! The original owners who submitted will be the first to see them, due to a strange pull that made they feel like they NEEDED to go to that area. What they do with this information is up to them; they can contact others in their group, start exploring by themselves or allow the thread to be open for others to come in with them...it's all up to you. That next morning, the government will be coming over to analyze them (that will be done offscreen, however).

FOR THE CREATURES 1) The creatures have to be in the Beastary for you to use them. You don't need to use creatures from your own home worlds either, as long as someone's put in a creature in there! Also, make sure your characters could logically take on the creatures you pick let's not have them take down a giant creature when they couldn't normally.]

Well, it certainly has been a while since he'd awakened in the middle of the street like that. There's something of a rueful smile crossing his lips as he wandered, awakened by the hustle and bustle of yet another city. In some ways it reminded him of Shibuya on a rainy day, but this was almost pushing it. Even more annoying that he didn't even recall the last time he'd needed sleep, or when world-hopping caused dreams like that--really, a butterfly nearly seemed more up a Joshua's alley than his own. The fact that he could get in contact with the Higher Plane (if he'd even wanted to), much less use his powers...

He breathes a lengthy sigh before rubbing the back of his neck. Having taken the first opportunity to duck under an awning and tinker with the new equipment he apparently awakened with, he was more concerned with just how much he would need to tinker with his (and anyone from Shibuya's) cellphone in order to somehow manage even texting in the same manner, along with the normal functions a Player would have.

Either way, he screams of newcomer and seems friendly enough. ...Bother?

... He's getting a little tired of his routine being interrupted by these beeps notifying him of new people, but he heads that way anyway.

And he's a little glad he did, as he crosses the street to head up to Mr. H, hands in his pockets.

"I didn't expect to see you here. Hey."

Oh, he knows that Imagination just about anywhere and he can't help but chuckle for a moment because, let's be honest. Who would expect ~~the spanish inquisition~~ a certain big-name-yet-anonymous artist to be in a completely different world? So that first sentence was something he really couldn't help but be amused by.

'It just figures that even in this world, it's Neku who finds me first.'

"Hey, Phones." He grins, same as always. "Funny how I could almost say the same about you. Though for once it looks you have more info on the city than me."

Oh, the irony.

"Seems like it."

He's glad it's Mr. H, honestly. There's been too much crazy around here lately, and Mr. H always seems to be stable. At least more stable than most of the stuff going on around him.

... How he manages it is another question, but one for later.

"This place is called Hinoto-Ri. We've been dragged here to help protect the city, though we haven't gotten many specifics. There's this group called the Anoli that're basically terrorists according to the government here, and they see themselves as liberators."

He needs more information before he can come down on one side or another.

well you know what they say: nothing like a cat herder to try and help get the city-- okay no one says that because no one ever ~*~knows~*~

"Hinoto-ri, huh?"

He can't help but notice what it's likely spelled with, nor how ironic it must be. The pulse of the city itself seems to match something chaotic. Hm... Maybe that is why he was called by yet an aspect of humanity (though whether he realizes that or not is up in the air).

"The world's always been abstract... Guess we can't ask another to be any less right away." He shrugs, seemingly waving it off. Though he is listening, and that is rather worrisome.

"Is there anything ya know for sure, boss?"

"Yeah. There's a thirteenth hour which is the only time I can use my Pins. There's also this power we've been given called Persona - it's something we can summon and use to fight. Supposedly it's an aspect of ourselves."

He's... still not sure why his is a giant lion. He's never been the greatest at mythology, though.

"People show up every month. Shiki and Rhyme are here."

... And he still has that Rhyme pin, so he's not sure how that even works.

Okay the Persona thing stuck out, aside from limited use of Pins and likely psychs as well. Was that going to be a similar occurrence with his own powers that he ever rarely used in the first place, anyway (aside from emergencies)?

Only time would tell, it seems.

"They are, huh." Oh, he just can't resist: "And how are they doing?"

Like he wouldn't make sure that this kid kept his world bigger than just himself after the first two weeks. Really, there is concern under the skeptical humor that was the unsaid question.

"They're doing okay, actually. They've settled in okay. I'm pretty sure Rhyme's birthday is soon, so we'll probably do something for that."

... Look, he feels responsible for helping her out and watching out for her since Beat isn't here.

Oh, he just walked himself into this one. Considering he had to pull on her Imagination to create that pin in Neku's position personally, he was intimate one date of birth and time of death. Not to mention he possibly overheard it while watching the Game...

"Pretty sure it was a couple days ago, boss."

...and he saw the date on the network, courtesy of realizing COMP glasses were a thing by chance.

Well! Joshua has certainly had his fill of this city, thank you. After doing a very abbreviated circuit of the city via public transportation and exploring as much as he cared of the city, he was ready to sit down with his glasses in his (mostly acceptable) apartment and start digging for information. Someone was going to need it, after all, and considering his talk with the not-Angel the other day... It was simply a good idea to keep on top of things. If things were going to get fixed around here, plans needed to start now.

But! A very familiar ghost of a vibe and a double-take later, and Joshua had abandoned that plan entirely in favor of dashing (!? dashing !?) to catch a very familiar barista on his way into the apartments. If you'll turn around, Mr. H, you'll find that your Composer is dismayed, concerned, and relieved all in one very subtle facial expression.

"I tried to call," he blurted out, sounding a little bratty. But he had been trying. "My phone isn't getting signal."

There there, Joshua. Someone certainly wasn't the only one who had a fill of the city for right now. Though he was simply going over his own notes as he entered, having done his own rounds and such. Especially during the "13th Hour" their Neku had described the day prior.

It didn't take much for him recognize that presence, either. An odd familiarity and smirk later, and he's looking behind him to the direction that it came from.

"Ah. Sorry, about that." It wasn't like any of his selves in the alternate planes and realities had ever considered that their Composers would find themselves pulled to another city so far out of their jurisdiction. "I don't think anyone suspected what I believe may be a Jungian entity would call us into a world so far from ours."

His bad, Joshua... but at least he's here. "I'll see about fixing that, but in the meantime...it looks like you got a lot on your mind, Josh."

Join him? It would probably be better to discuss in private.

Some of the tension fell away as soon as the words "fixing that" left Mr. H's mouth. Not that he felt as though he was stranded! Definitely not. It was one open line of communication that was valuable, that's all. It shouldn't have taken precedence over any other one, really. Yes.

So his shoulders roll to a more comfortable angle as a small smirk reappears on his face. "Put it on your list of considerations next time. That and Lovecraftian horrors are always an option."

Joshua didn't regard Mr. H's last statement with much more than a shrug, but he falls into step with him willingly enough. It is definitely time to square away some business.

Good, because that was the intent at that. He chuckled to himself as they walked to either the stairs or elevator; either one would work for him, of course. It didn't matter which path they took.

"Haha, how right that is." Not as likely as some would think, but still a very real possibility. "I take it you were assigned to these apartments, too?"

In other words, which to go to. It was almost as though the government knew, or at least were very adept trolls.

Escalator, doy. No extra walking for Joshua Kiryuu. He steps onto it and turns to face Mr. H, sticking his hands in his back pockets. "I'm on the 5th floor. Unless your room is a less of a climb, I think we should collaborate there."

The joke is that the 5th floor is the first residential floor. Haha. Joke. See? There. The joke.

He leans back against the moving rail and lightly broaches a new topic. "Were you looking for anything in particular out there?"

Well, there you have it. "11th, so yours it is."

And the joke was briefly noted before business as usual continued. Other than store locations for supplies they'd undoubtedly need, there were a few reconnaissance needs of his own that he to fulfill as well.

"Simply listening to the tune of the city we found ourselves in. Nothing less." And boy, were their strings (ha ha, see his own joke?) wound up tight. Too tight, if he were so bold. He rubs his neck as he thinks. "Doesn't hurt to know the layout, either."

Joshua gives an impatient sigh. "You say that like we'll be here for a while." Kind of a whine, mostly statement of fact, but yeah, whining. Joshua had been doing the same thing himself for the past couple of days, but no one told him he had to be happy about it.

"You did end up going to the shopping district, right?" Joshua knows he did, just to get a peek at the prevailing trends, as it were. What he didn't expect was his very own 104 lighting up a eerily mismatched Scramble Crossing...

These last couple of days... have been confusing as hell. Good overall, relieving on a major, major level, shaking on a deeply personal level, and just generally confusing. At least the confusion will fade...

Either way, Neku is... exhausted to say the least. He's got the run-down, he's at least learned basically how to use this COMP thing, he's eaten something and he's dried out a bit, but he's tired. He just kind of wants to go back to his room, lay on his bed and do nothing for a little bit. Just to let all of this process. Any more and his brain might just overload.

Welcome to the club... Or well, he would welcome you to the club except that he had a little bit of a job to do concerning his Composer and the new city they've found themselves in. Mostly just tinkering, but right now... to be honest he could really use some beans. Coffee beans, that is. The one thing he hadn't gotten before and, now that he has the locations of most of the stores it simply boils down to which one has the be-

...Well well, what have we here? Was that ping of a vibe from a familiar soul? Or... was it. He couldn't quite put a finger on it ~~outside the 13th Hour~~, but something was different.

That's when the elevator pinged, stating that it was about to reach the desired floor and thus the doors automatically opened a few moments later to reveal--

"Heeeeeey, Phones."

Guess who almost made a feline-related pun.

... okay, remember what he said about more possibly overloading his brain there a moment ago? Yeah. Uh. Well, welcome to that. Or dangerously close, anyway.

The moment the doors slid open, Neku didn't even look up, just really focused on getting in the elevator, up to his floor and to his room. In fact, he very nearly walks forward and into someone who is currently talking to him and--

"--Mr. H!"

Oh man. Oh man. Holy-- OH MAN.

He sees that. Oh, does he see that. It's almost like a sliding scale ranging from "no fucks given" to "LOST ABILITY TO CAN" in quiiiite the literal sense. He an almost hear the steam coming from his ears.

"Whoa, hey there. You look almost as if you saw the other kind of ghost." The Hollywood kind. "You alright there, kid?"

Holding the door open. Did you want on or not-?

Neku is actually pretty sure his ability to can has vacated his body, lifted up into the air, floated to the nearest window and shot off into space. Because holy shit, right here standing in front of him is CAT and oh no he'd just really, really embarrassed himself, hadn't he, he has to play this cool--

... oh right, the elevator. Uh. Getting on that.

"Y-yeah, just... wasn't expecting someone else to be on it."

Whoops, that was what he'd defenestrated? His bad, Phones. Also not quite embarrassed, but definitely a noted fanboy moment. At least he's a bit more easygoing about it (when he isn't plotting ways to get back at Joshua for spilling the beans on that one, that is--not son, plz).

"You sure?" Yeah, he was going to tease a bit. There are just some temptations that even those of his caliber that they can't resist. "There are a lot of apartments in this complex, Phones. I would've thought the opposite."

Yeah, and he'd like it back, thanks. N-not that he's asking you go look for it or anything, he can find it himself...! And he's totally not fanboying, he's just... been up too long. Yeah. He's jumpy and tired. Totally sticking by that.

"Well-- Yeah, but I thought that--" Dammit, Neku, get your act together here! "... still used to using elevators that are usually empty."

After her day out in the city, Miyako had hit the training facilities in the Pisces apartment. It's a way to both keep up her training and to distract herself. Of course, her thoughts would sometime drift over to certain subjects, completely ignoring the looks from the natives.

When she's finished, she cleaned herself up and leave for the elevator. Time to rest up in her room before her nightly excursion.

Honestly, Miyako feel restless without having a purpose.

Ding. The elevator opened and she stepped inside.
